lists her as 50% Sheltie/German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees) who was returned from the home we placed her in due to guarding issues. She is sweet and loves attention (a lap dog wanna-be). She is good off leash, is house and crate trained and has good house manners. Roxy is definetely a watch dog and barks to let you know if anything is going on (wildlife, visitors, noises). We see a lot of GSD and G. Pyr. traits in her and she doesn't tolerate aggressive "training" methods. She would be best in a home with no other dogs or a tolerant dog that isn't interested in resource guarding. She currently lives with 6 other dogs and only has issues with the other resource guarder. She is also currently living with dog savvy cats that don't run from dogs but we are hesitant to say she is completely cat safe. All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.org. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Although she had a rough start and was living outside for some time, there is nothing that she likes more than hanging out with people. She loves to sit beside you on the couch while you read or watch TV. She also might be found at your feet if you are working at your desk. She really want to be a good girl, and comes and sits on command. She is also learning to shake. She is food-motivated, and would be very trainable with treats and praise. She’s been working hard on potty-training and has learned to hold it until she gets outside most of the time. Tikaani has done really well with all of the people in our family, including playing tug-of-war and chase with our 8-year-old son. She also tolerates cats very well. The only thing she seems unsure of is other dogs. She wants to be the alpha, and hasn't had a lot of experience living with other dogs so she would need a patient house mate or she would be fine as an only dog. She has gotten better at this though. Tikaani sleeps in a crate at night, but would probably love to sleep beside people, if given the chance. She loves going on walks and riding in the car. She also enjoys chasing tennis balls and bringing them back in exchange for a treat. Tikaani is about a year old and appears to be part German shepherd and part Lab (she eats like a Lab!). She is a very good girl, and would love to find her forever home soon! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Reeba is super sweet! She has done very well in her foster home with 2 older smaller dogs, however, she is afraid of the resident cat. She is pretty perfect, neither bossy nor submissive. Reeba, like any visually impaired dog, takes a little time to get used to new people and environments. She does well navigating around things and has had no problem with a little flight of stairs. Due to her impairment, physical change in her environment can throw her off for a little while and if she does not hear someone come up on her, it can startle her and she will retreat to her crate. Her crate is her safety spot. She would do best in a home who is able to work with her in regard to these things. Reeba LOVES walks with other dogs or even by herself. She is the BEST house-trained dog her foster parents have ever had. She crates well and comes out happy and ready for a scratch. . She will be a quiet, loyal, loving girl for some lucky person.
