Story
Leo is a German Shepherd who was found in a small dog crate on the side of an Iowa road. He was brought in and being fostered by a friend of mine. I took over Leo a week ago, but I am single and work 12.5 hour overnights. I’ve learned he has huge separation anxiety and needs to be in a house with a yard and people around. He is the most loving dog I’ve ever met. Within the first day he was cuddling on my lap and following me everywhere. I love the guy but I’m afraid he might harm himself from being left alone to long.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Taro! She is a very sweet Shepherd mix looking for a new home. Her current owner is no longer able to care for her any longer due to major life changes. She does best in a calm environment as her current home has quite a bit of anxiety and she is not responding well. She has had a lot of training in her past and she THRIVED!! We would love to find a home that can get her back on track and continue to teach her new disciplines and how to live life to its fullest! She would do best in a home without small dogs or animals at this time. She may be able to have small furry friends in the future, but right now we think it would be best to keep her friends her size, energy level, and age to give her some fun consistency. German shepherd experience is a must. She is very much a representative of her breed. Intelligent, confident, and wants to be protective. She just needs a family that can teach her that they have it handled, and she doesn't have to be on high alert. That she can just enjoy life and be a dog, Playing and romping and loving on her humans!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
Storm is a very loving, cuddly dog. He was a rescue when my son got him 4 years ago, we believe he is 7 years old. He does have some anxiety issues when left alone, he would do best in a home where someone is home the majority of the time, or where there is a fenced yard and he could be outside when alone. He is very well behaved, and potty trained, until left alone. His favorite trouble to get into is garbage cans, and anything that is left on the counter or in the sink. He does not do well in a kennel, he will freak out and use the bathroom if kenneled even for a short time. Other than his anxiety he is a very good dog, he will run if unleashed so a fenced yard would be ideal.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ranger is a 1-2 year old purebred German Shepard who was wandering for over a month as a stray in southern Minnesota. A bit timid and shy, probably from being on the run for so long, animal control finally was able to catch him and get him to a safe place. Having no chip, or ID  he was placed on a stray hold, his owners were searched for, with no luck and he was finally released to a rescue to be adopted, and that is when UDR was asked to help out this boy, which we agreed wholeheartedly! Ranger gets along with both male and female dogs, loves to play ball and will bond quickly with the human that cares for him. We do believe he will be a loyal companion for the rest of his life. For now he needs a safe harbor, needs to learn to trust and just be loved. Ranger will need a secure yard with a high fence. Once the vets start doing neuters again he will be altered by the rescue. Please apply if you are interested in adopting this fine young Shepard!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.The breeds of our dogs and cats are a 'best guess.' We often do not know what mix they are and have to base it on what we think they look like, and base it on breeds often found in the area they came from. Most of our dogs who have gotten DNA tests done are 4-10 breeds mixed together. Because their breed mix is a guess we cannot guarantee a 'full grown size' of many of our younger animals.Interested in adopting me? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To speed up the adoption process, please complete our Pre-Adoption Application.Meet Dakota! This gorgeous sweet girl was scared in Texas and is now learning to come out of her shell in Minnesota to find the perfect home for her!Foster pupdate!Hi! My name is Dakota. I'm shy girl that came from Texas. I'm learning that people aren't so scary, so my future family needs to have patience while I get used to them. I love other dogs and have a blast chasing a foster sister around outside. Some of my favorite things are walks or jogs, watching the world outside on car rides, window watching for squirrels, and playful dog friends. My foster mom says I'm very good in the car, by the way! I do well in my crate when she's gone at work, I even go right in to it when she grabs her stuff to leave. My foster mom thinks I'd probably be fine as an only dog but having a dog friend to show me the ropes will be the best ever.Prior to adoption, they will be altered, vaccinated, health checked and microchipped.
