Story
Please note, we are a Texas based rescue that transports our pups once they are adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes, so much is known about their temperament, training level and personality. We know adopting a dog sight unseen can be daunting, so we are happy to share additional videos, photos and even let you Facetime with the pup. We are primarily an equine rescue, but do assist with a small number of dogs annually. We are happy to provide references from previous adopters if needed. Thank you for wanting to adopt! Hello, my name is Apollo, my birthday is 11/12/18, and I am a Scorpio….what is your sign?Oops, TMI, too soon?I was told to have a strong “PICK ME” line to introduce myself !!😊 According to my zodiac sign, I am energetic as well as expressive…..very true! Sensitive and intelligent; I have lots of learning to do and lots of time to do it!! My heritage is German Shepard and Black Mouth Curr hybrid...but, I don't run on petrol and electrical, I run on snuggle, hikes, and milk bones...yummmy!! At 10 months young, I weigh approximately 50 pounds, so will likely end up a bigger sized adult dog (just guessing, around 60 lbs.).I love food, so I need a family that is up for a daily hike or walk around the blocks. I am a fun loving dude who loves tug-o-war with my sibling foster pups, following foster mom around the yard and house, and snuggling with my foster family.I am an exceedingly sweet and loving pup. Foster mom says I play well with dogs of all sizes and do fine with cats (unless they take off running, and then I think that they want to play "tag"!!) If you are looking for a pup that is willing and eager to learn, likes long walks and adventurous hikes, I hope I had you at “hello”!!

"You've got a friend in me You got troubles, I got 'em too There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you We stick together, we see it through You've got a friend in me" 1995, Randy Newman These lyrics from the hit song, "You've got a Friend in Me" absolutely could have been written about me! You won't find a more loyal and devoted dog in the world! My Foster Mum is my hero, but we live in an apartment with two cats and we all know that I would be happier with my own person/people and a yard. I am an athletic guy and would LOVE an action/adventure person/family to go hiking and swimming with. Did I mention I LOVE being in the water!! Swimming and splashing about is my favorite pastime. My hairytage combines the two awesome breeds of German Shepard and Siberian Husky. With genetics from two continents, I am one intelligent and resourceful pup!! From my Russian ancestors (Husky), I inherited hardiness, high energy, and a strong work ethic. My European breeding (GSD) accounts for my courage, loyalty and obedience. I am a bit stand offish when meeting new people, but once I understand your kind intent towards either me or my Foster Mum, you are in my circle of trust for life!! Then, the party is on! I am ready for a serious game of fetch and Tug of War!! My Tug of War rope is my favorite toy, but I really enjoy tossing around all of the other toys, as well. I pretty much ignore my meowy roommates and leave them to their cat nip and cat naps; I am a DOG and have important stuff to do!! I stand guard at the window and wait for Foster Mum to get home so we can go walking. I am good with other medium and large sized dogs, after a proper introduction. My play style is a little rough for small fry doggies. I know basic people pleasin' behaviors like sit, stay, shake paws, and I wait for my food bowl until I am told it is ok to approach. I am crate trained and never have potty accidents in the house! At 3 years young, I have reached a powerful, muscular weight of 70 pounds. I would do well in obedience or agility training with a strong and confident trainer. I have a lot of learning to do and need someone who will love me and guide me to lead my best life. If you are looking for a true friend and companion that is "doggedly" loyal, you've got a friend in me!! I hope that you will fill out the online application and adopt me today!! "And as the years go by Our friendship will never die You're gonna see it's our destiny You've got a friend in me"

Story
Meet Chance a 4-5 year old male German Shepherd and Rottweiler mix weighing 65 lbs. He is a big ball of love ready for his forever family.  Chance loves water and plays with gusto when he's outside. He enjoys a nice kiddie pool to splash around in, rain or shine! He loves playing with balls and running around with humans in a big fenced yard. He's very smart and would love to work on some training or tricks with his human, with lots of treats of course. He would be best as the only pet in the house and can be a wiggly pup so kids over 8 are preferred.   Chance adoption fee is $200. He's up to date on vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped.

Story
For adoption: 4 year old beautiful German Shepherd. This is Alby. He is a rescue from a high kill shelter. He has been in foster care for 5 months getting neutered and learning how to be a family dog. He is a little too interested in the kitties so a home with no cats is required. He is fine with the dachshunds and whippet mix that live with him. He is 95 pounds of puppy so older children are recommended as he could accidentally knock small children down. He is super smart and learns quickly. He loves to walk and I take him for about an hour and a half daily. He also is great in the car and goes with me almost everywhere. He would be an awesome dog to do advanced obedience or tracking with. I would like someone with Shepherd experience. Let me know if you would like to meet Alby.

I am a sweet 60 lb. boy who loves people and so far has been fine around other dogs.   I would  do fine in a home with older children over 12, and I'd  make a great companion for walks, hikes, and outings! Can you foster or adopt me? Can you foster or adopt me? My adoption fee of $450 covers neuter, DA2PP shots, rabies, bordetella, heartworm test, microchip, health certificate, and other costs. Story
HI - I'M HOLLY! I'm a 2-year-old black female German Shepherd-lab mix saved from a shelter around Christmas time. I was urgent at the shelter because I was limping. I spent one month at a vet and it's determined that I may have some nerve damage in my foot, so I do limp a little, but get around just fine. The vet says I just need time to heal. I am in need of a new home where I can enjoy life and be loved. I am sweet with people, love children, and am an all-around good girl. I weigh 58 lbs.  I'm currently being fostered in the Seattle area.  Can you adopt me?   My adoption fee of $375 covers neuter, DA2PP shots, rabies, bordetella, heartworm test, microchip, health certificate, and other costs. Ginger's Pet Rescue is a nonprofit 501c3 organization.     Please    email for an adoption application.
