Story
My name if Freya. I'm a one and half year old Chihuahua/Terrier mix and weigh 13 lbs. I was abandoned in a scary area with big trucks and a lot of traffic. I stayed there for 3 days waiting for my family to come back and get me, but they never did. The nice lady who was feeding me decided it was safer to find a new home for me. I'm really glad that nice lady took me home. I got to see the vet and found out that I have heart worms, and that made me really sad, but I am being treated for that. If you adopt me, the rescue will pay for my heart worm treatment until I test negative. My last test said I was low heart worm positive so I am getting better! I am potty trained and kennel trained, although I have peed in the house a few time when it was stormy outside or if my foster doesn't pick up on my need to go outside. I like to snuggle and play catch and will even bring the toy back to you. I like to cuddle up for nap time and sleep next to my human at night. I don't know commands yet, but I'm working on that. I can walk on a leash, but I'm still practicing with that too. I'd probably be best around older kids and adults. I like to jump a lot and may accidentally nip when playing, and I wouldn't want to hurt anyone. I like to play with the cats, and that new kitten beats me up sometimes. Even though we get along my foster mom doesn't leave me alone with them just in case someone may accidentally get hurt. I do sleep next to the kitten at night, I like that. We just got through a holiday with fireworks. I did NOT like those at all, especially when they were close. Loud noises make me shake sometimes until I feel I'm safe. I do calm down with a nice hug and cuddling though. Eventually I just slept right through it with my thundershirt. If you have any questions, please contact hhfrescue@gmail.com. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.hhfrescue.org.The adoption fee includes vaccinations, bordetella, deworming, rabies, spay/neuter, microchip, a lifetime registration of the microchip, and sales tax. If adopting a puppy, the rabies and spay/neuter will be done at the same time by our vet once they are 4 months old and billed to us. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.
