His adoption fee is $495 for non-local adopters, which covers his transport to his new family. He is fully vetted, neutered and microchipped.** Well hello there! I&#39m Maddox and I&#39m pleased to meet you. I must say, I consider myself to be a &#34lucky dog&#34. One day, I&#39m wandering the streets of Houston, without a home, and the next I know, I&#39m in a very nice home, with a lady who promised me that she will find me a forever home. Luck just seems to follow me and I&#39d be happy to bring that luck to your life, too. I&#39m 55 lbs and 2 yrs. old. I&#39m house-trained, getting used to the crate--not my favorite activity, and energetic. I&#39m working on my obedience training and have caught on to a couple commands very quickly. In fact, right now, I&#39m being fostered by a very good professional trainer, so you know I&#39m learning every day. They tell me I&#39m a quick study. I like people. Sometimes I like to take a little time to get to know people, but I&#39m definitely a people-oriented guy. I also like car rides, because that&#39s a bit of an adventure, too. I am good with other dogs, but I do appreciate a proper introduction. If you are looking for a fun, energetic, active dog, who enjoys taking walks, wouldn&#39t mind learning how to be a running partner, and enjoys a little chill time, I just may be your guy! I&#39m fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and have received a clean bill of health. If you&#39d like to meet me, please contact info@wagsfundrescue.com to set up a meet and greet. Thanks. Maddox is available for adoption thru the WAGS Fund Rescue Group. Story
Meet Pilar or Miss “P”, Pilar is a petite 3-4 year old female Rottie that only weighs about 50-60 pounds. As you can see, Pilar has only 3 legs. How she got that way is a sad story. She was picked up as a stray by the SPCA because she was seen with a serious compound fracture of her left front leg which had the bone sticking out of her leg. Unfortunately, she had been that way for a while and by the time she was picked up the leg was very infected and had dead tissue. Because of the infection, there was no way to save her leg and so it had to be amputated. However, being left with three legs has not slowed her down one bit! She gets along great and loves to literally bounce around on her one front leg when she plays. She can even run pretty quick when she wants to. Pilar LOVES toys and will just play with her toys constantly for long periods of time. She will shake them and toss them in the air, and then go to her toy box and keep getting more toys out to keep playing, before you know it, the room is filled with toys. Pilar is a sweet girl who craves attention once she gets to know you. Amazingly, despite all the horrible things this baby girl endured, she is an incredibly happy little girl. She gets along with other dogs and loves to play and would do great in a house with other dogs. However, she would not be good in a home with cats as she thinks they are just big squirrels and wants to go after them.  She also needs to go to a home without children – they are just too unpredictable for her. She is a leery of strangers when she first meets them, and who can blame her after what she has been through. At first she is a timid and apprehensive, as we are sure she was abused at some time in the past. Once she gets to know you and realizes that you are going to be nice to her, she is a sweetheart. You just have to take things slowly with her, but once she trusts you, she will love you forever and love to be right by your side.  She has been working with our trainer some to get over her fear of strangers and is doing well, but her new home or foster will need to be diligent with her training and rules. Scout's Honor will also have our trainer work with anyone who is interested in adopting Pilar.  Pilar is house and crate-trained. She does great unsupervised in the house and usually you can find her curled up or laying on her back with her legs in the air on her favorite bed.  Check our Miss P playing with her buddy!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjipTCXkeHg&feature=youtu.be  Pilar is such a sweetie that just wants a place where she can bounce around and play until her heart's content with a family that understands her and is patient with her. Please consider giving this girl a place to lay her head and be safe forever. If you are interested in adopting Pilar, please contact us at info@scoutshonor.org  You can also read all about fostering and adopting at www.scoutshonor.org.

Story
Ricky and his friend Lucy were both picked up as strays wandering around Galveston. Ricky is a Rottweiler that is about 86 or so pounds. They were both brought to animal control where no one ever came to claim them. Sadly, they eventually made the list to be euthanized. But luckily for them Scout's Honor Rescue was contacted and we knew we had to help them. Ricky is a sweet boy who is very friendly and likes attention. He loves everyone he meets and is so laid back!  He'd be a great family pet!  He's great with other dogs and would likely do best in a home with older kiddos. He was definitely was someone's pet at some point in his life and he longs to be loved on again.  Please contact us right away at info@scoutshonor.org if you are interested in adopting him.

Story
Rottie Lovers!!  Meet Pork Chop. Don't let his size intimidate you, he is a sweet boy. Pork Chop was about to be euthanized at BARC after being surrendered by his original owner with another dog he lived with when a nice lady decided she couldn't let that happen. So she adopted him. Sadly, she had him for only a couple months before she started to suffer from serious health issues that prevented her from keeping him. We heard about his story and decided to meet him. It turns out that he is just big guy who is super sweet. He is about 3 years old and is friendly and likes people. We tested him with multiple dogs and he is good with dogs but it takes him a few minutes to get used to them. After a few minutes of letting him smell the other dog and be smelled, he settled down and was great off leash.    Pork Chop is a big boy and weighs in at about 115 pounds and is very strong. He is a good boy, but just needs some training as it appears he never really got any before. But he is smart and catches on quick. Pork Chop is just a big sweet guy who needs someone to give him a chance. Like we said before, don't be intimidated by his size, he is just more to love.   Contact us right away if you are interested in adopting this big boy!  www.scoutshonor.org

Story
Rottie Lovers - meet our newest girl Sugar!! We just busted her out of BARC! She’s an adorable 2-3 year old Rottie that was picked up as a stray and nobody bothered looking for her. That’s OK though because it’s all sunny days for our girl now. She is pretty timid and seems like people did not treat her very well, but she is very sweet, just scared. She also does just fine with the dogs she has met. Sugar has been in an amazing foster home with another dog and is doing great.  Great house manners and just a well-behaved young lady.  Because Sugar was no doubt not treated very well in her life before SHR, she needs someone who is patient with her to warm up and let her do so on her own timing.  Also, because she can be a bit cautious with new people, we think a home without kiddos would be best for Sugar, but she would be great with another canine sibling.. No big surprise here in Housto n and considering no one took care of her, but she is heartworm positive.  Don't worry though, it is not contagious and we have alre ady begun the slow-kill treatment to get rid of them. Scout’s Honor will continue to cover her treatment until she is cleared. Contact us at info@scoutshonor.org if you can help by donating for her care! Help us show this darling girl there are good people out there!!  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.scoutshonor.org.

Story
If you would like more information about Flaca or are interested in adopting her, please contact this number, 281-383-9930 Flaca, along with a male dog, Joe, was found abandoned in a vacant property with no food or water. She could barely walk but was saved from starvation. Now she is a happy playful dog. She likes to play all the time and loves toys and bones; she has never messed with my furniture. She is potty trained. I own a couple of rescued dogs and one of them does not get along with other dogs. I always keep Flaca and Joe separate from my dogs. I would prefer Flaca and Joe be adopted together, but I will welcome separate adoptions if that is the best way to find loving and caring homes for both of them. Story
I'm Cali. I'm a shy girl that was found tied up with a collar so small that it was embedded in my neck. I was probably used for breeding, but I was rescued by the best lady and now I'm safe at HADR. I'm the sweetest thing and good with people and other dogs, but it takes me some time to get used to new places and things, so my new family will need to be patient with me. I like to have a calm place to relax, such as my crate or a soft dog bed. If you might like a quiet, sweet girl like me, apply at www.hadr.org.Apply to Adopt or Foster at www.hadr.org.
