Approx. DOB: 6/28/07                Approx. Weight:13 Lbs Adoption Fee: $175 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Sophie is a shih tzu who was surrendered by her family that could not care for her. Sophie is a sweet girl with a great spirit, overall just a happy dog!   It has taken us many months to get her healthy enough to be ready to find a home that will love and take care of her for the rest of her life. Sophie has medical issues and does take medicine daily for her enlarged heart and her liver.  She may have a blocked or twisted bile duct but due to heart issues she can't have surgery. She will need to eat special dog food (Science Diet WD) and will need to remain on her meds for the rest of her life.  Her medicine and food will cost about $50 per month. Sophie also is deaf and she can not do stairs. Anyone applying for Sophie MUST know the Shih Tzu breed and have strong history of great animal care with your veterinarian. Sophie is not a dog for a 'first time' pet owner. School age children or older. Sophie has been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped. DOB:  9/20/19                                 Current Weight(as of 3/3/20): 6.2 & 10.2 Lbs Adoption Fee: $600 for both as a pair, includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. We would prefer them going together but would consider separating them for the right homes. Each will need a small active dog in the home if separated. Meet Kookie(brown and grey) and Koko(White). They are sisters, almost 6 months old and cute as can be!  They love each other very much and wherever one is the other is not far behind.  They are playful and loving and excellent snugglers! They will most likely stay smaller in size. They have been working on their housebreaking skills but still need time and patience to accomplish this.   These two came from not such a great beginning and were very skinny and covered in fleas when they arrived in our care. A fenced yard for them to safely play and potty is preferred and no apartments/attached homes - they can be vocal! Here are some notes from their foster Mom: Kookie needs a more active home, she gets bored easily and likes to be entertained by playing with dogs/humans or with toys. She has a personality of needing to stay busy so she doesn’t get busy doing things she shouldn’t be doing  she’s learning to potty outside and on the potty pads but still learning that going in the house isn’t okay. She’s extremely smart, a quick learner and very trainable. She learned “sit” and “down” in one day and can even do those commands just with hand signals and not verbal cues.   Koko is a snuggle bug but don’t let her cute cuddly self fool you, she likes to play hard with her sister and wrestle and chase each other around and even eggs Kookie on to play. Koko loves to be held like a baby and almost instantly will fall asleep in your arms. She is also working on going potty outside and on potty pads but still has accidents in the house from time to time. Koko knows “sit” but doesn’t seem as quick of a learner as her sister. Please remember puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations.
