Rocky is a purebred shih tzu, born 2/10/14. He is triple registered - AKC, ACA and UABR. He has spent his entire life in a commercial kennel as a stud dog, and was consigned to a dog breeder auction to continue his breeding life, but instead was purchased into rescue so he can learn to be a pet. He is sweet tempered and friendly. He is good with female dogs, but may be aggressive with males so would do best either as an only dog or with female companions. He has been neutered, heartworm tested (negative), had a dental, has been vaccinated and wormed and dosed with Revolution for flea and heartworm prevention. The vet noted that he has a grade 2-3 heart murmur, which does not appear to bother him but should be monitored periodically. He weighs 11 pounds 5.5 ounces. His adoption fee is $150.00

This sweet little girl is Bella. She is a little over 2 years old and is a little timid at first but loves to snuggle with her person. She is housetrained and crate trained. DOB: 9/20/19 Current Weight(as of 3/3/20): 6.2 & 10.2 Lbs Adoption Fee: $600 for both as a pair, includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. We would prefer them going together but would consider separating them for the right homes. Each will need a small active dog in the home if separated. Meet Kookie(brown and grey) and Koko(White). They are sisters, almost 6 months old and cute as can be! They love each other very much and wherever one is the other is not far behind. They are playful and loving and excellent snugglers! They will most likely stay smaller in size. They have been working on their housebreaking skills but still need time and patience to accomplish this. These two came from not such a great beginning and were very skinny and covered in fleas when they arrived in our care. A fenced yard for them to safely play and potty is preferred and no apartments/attached homes - they can be vocal! Here are some notes from their foster Mom: Kookie needs a more active home, she gets bored easily and likes to be entertained by playing with dogs/humans or with toys. She has a personality of needing to stay busy so she doesn’t get busy doing things she shouldn’t be doing she’s learning to potty outside and on the potty pads but still learning that going in the house isn’t okay. She’s extremely smart, a quick learner and very trainable. She learned “sit” and “down” in one day and can even do those commands just with hand signals and not verbal cues. Koko is a snuggle bug but don’t let her cute cuddly self fool you, she likes to play hard with her sister and wrestle and chase each other around and even eggs Kookie on to play. Koko loves to be held like a baby and almost instantly will fall asleep in your arms. She is also working on going potty outside and on potty pads but still has accidents in the house from time to time. Koko knows “sit” but doesn’t seem as quick of a learner as her sister. Please remember puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.
