Story
Apache is a 2 year old ACD X Aussie mix who is a fantastic dog with advanced training and superior athletic ability. Would make an amazing agility, frisbee or even herding dog. He was my brothers dog but he offered him to be due to his busy traveling schedule. I unfortunately dont have the time nor space for him at this moment and due to his amazing biddability I would hate to see him just sit around. He DOES have an off switch. Hes as happy to go play ball as he is to lounge on the couch. He is UTD on vaccines(August 2019), fully housebroke and neutered. The perfect beginner dog. Only rehoming due to him not getting the opportunities he so greatly deserves.

Story
Rosie is a rescue that i adopted from a local shelter four years ago and she's been a loyal and loving companion ever since. She's a quiet dog, but she hasn't met a person she hasn't loved. She's not a big fan of toys, but loves chasing lasers/reflected light, going on walks, and being pet, especially on her belly. She also tends to be good around younger children, although sometimes barks or nips if treated in a rough manner. Recently though, she has developed bladder stones and has a heart arrhythmia which complicates surgery, so she is prone to having accidents indoors if left alone for longer than a few hours. Additionally, circumstances in my life have forced me to move to a town that is very unfriendly to pet owners. If you have love and attention to spare, don't mind having a less active companion, then Rosie would be a wonderful addition to your family.

Story
Dixon is a sweet natured, very loving young Australian Cattle Dog looking for a home where his people are not gone long hours and have a doggie playmate for him to play with in the backyard. Loves to cuddle and snuggle with his human companions. He will lean on you for comfort and support (literally), isn't overly hyper and will be content following his owners around the house, settling where they do. Housetrained, crate trained and sleeps thru the night in his own bed. Walks well on leash and will not wonder away if off leash. Loves car rides and would be happy to go anywhere with you. Very dog friendly and happy to follow the lead of another dog who would help him remain active, engaged and show him the house rules. Smart boy who knows basic commands sit, stay, shake, will wait to eat and would enjoy learning more. Dixon has a good medium energy, but will not be a running or hiking partner. Walks, running around the yard and cuddles are more his speed. While he's not destructive inside or outside, if bored he will find creative ways to entertain himself like helping himself to food left on the counter if unsupervised. Challenging his mind with puzzles, activities and training would be great for him. A home with older or no children is recommended due to the 'herding and nipping' behavior common in his breed. He's not a big barker, not a fan of the vacuum cleaner or loud noises and has not been cat tested. Dixon came into his foster home underweight with signs of neglect and an unknown medical condition. He just wanted to be loved and craved affection. His amazing foster family has shown him love, helped him learn family life and have enjoyed having this super fun, loving boy around. Dixon was diagnosed with a liver shunt, a condition he was most likely born with, and it does present the characteristics normally listed with this condition. He is on the thinner side and has decreased muscle control. It is fun to watch him running around the house on the wood floors where he can't always remain on all 4's. One adorable feature is that his paws are a little bigger than his body, like a puppy, so when he walks, he shuffles his feet and you can always hear him coming! He also has a cute little side sit. He is currently on a special low protein/ vegetarian diet due to his health restrictions and is eating and drinking well. Dixon is 45 lbs. neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and current on prevention. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Dixon is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.
