Story
Poppy a beautiful 2 year old border collie mix.  She is so sweet and has made huge strides in trusting people and learning hands coming toward her are for pets and love.  She is loving toys and getting used to her routine.  She loves other dogs and hanging out on the couch with all her toys. Crate trained.  Loves other dogs...all of them.  Not scared to be left alone.  It will take some time for her to warm up but once she does she is a love bug wanting lots of hugs, rubs and kisses.  She is about 30 pounds. This poor baby girl.  Humans were not kind to her before Dogrrr. She cringed even if she thought you might try to touch her. When you would touch her she froze.  With patience and love this girl has learned to trust humans. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption.  The standard minimum donation for puppies is $325 + 8.25% tax =  $351.81, for dogs over 12 months the adoption fee is $225 + 8.25% tax = $243.66 and for our senior dogs 8 years and up is $100 + 8.25% tax = $108.25; this increase includes sales tax recently required by the State of Texas to collect.  You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org.  For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.   For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.  Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.  ##528619##

Story
Please say hello to Texas Winter, aka Winnie. Winnie is an outgoing and assertive girl and she is very affectionate. She is spayed, current on immunizations and on preventatives. Winnie is great at meeting new people as long as it is in a calm and polite manner. When frustrated or overly excited, she will get mouthy to other dogs or people, but is quickly & easily corrected when given clear verbal cue. She does well with men, women and children over 12. She is selective about dogs and is not good with small animals due to a high prey drive which is in her DNA. Winnie is an energetic and active girl and needs an active household. She would do great in herding, agility or other activities. Like most Aussies, she requires mental stimulation and physical activity every day. Winnie has a strong toy drive and is protective of her food. She is crate trained and house broken. She knows her basic commands such as sit, stay, down and recall. She is currently being fostered with a trainer who is working on her impulse/ behavior. If you think Winnie is the girl for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application

NOTES FROM THE FOSTER FAMILY: Piper is the sweetest most loving dog! She walks great on a leash, and loves to go on walks! She loves to ride in the car and to play fetch with a ball. Great with older kids. She is totally potty trained and learning to ring the bell to go outside. Crate trained. She knows basics commands like sit and stay. Being a herding dog mix, she can tend to be a little nippy, so not recommended with very young children. ESTIMATED DOB: 2-11-2019 Click the 'Ask About' button or click 'Tails from the Heart' link to see all of our available dogs. Our application is currently not online, they are sent via email once your inquiry is submitted. Upcoming Tails from the Heart Meet and Greet events. With everything going on currently with COVID-19, we have canceled our public meet and greets until further notice. If you are interested in meeting any of our pets, please email us and we can get you an application. We can then review and send to the foster family. We may cancel our home visits as well but if you could attach photos of your yard and one or two of your home that would be great. In lieu of the visit this would allow us to meet you and allow you to meet the pet and conduct a possible adoption either outside your home or at a public place where safe distancing can occur.

Story
Meet Trumpet! Trumpet is a male Australian Shepherd mix who is one years old and 33 lbs. Trumpet is very intelligent with high energy. He would do well with a family who can exercise him daily and would be a great companion for outdoor activities. He is house/bell and crate trained, and knows basic commands: sit, down, leave it, come, and stay.  Trumpet is not a suitable match for someone in an apartment or with children under the age of 14 due to his natural herding tendencies. He is wonderful with other large dogs, but tends to chase cats.  If you are interested in meeting Trumpet to see if he belongs at your place, please complete an application on our website and his foster mom will be in touch. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/               We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.

Story
Hello Humans! I’m Ajax! I am young, energetic, healthy, and would make a great companion for you if you’re athletic and enjoy running, hiking, being outdoors. I am crate and house trained so when we’re not together I’m a really good boy. I get along well with other dogs but I prefer the ones that are more my size since I can get a little pushy during playtime. I have good attention and am food motivated so when you train me I am confident I’ll do very well! I’m OK with cats but if they run from me, I’ll chase them. I am an Australian Shepherd / Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, about 45 pounds and was born approximately 2/1/16. I really want to find that special person to love and be loved by. Would you consider giving me my furever home? I promise lots of love in return!Ajax is up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, neutered and on heart worm and flea/tick preventatives. The first step in our adoption process for this energetic pup is to submit your application which is available online at hillcrestanimalrescue.org. Once you are there, click on ADOPT and scroll down to our Application.

Story
My name is Roxie! I'm mostly white except for the cutest black and pink spots on my nose and my tail. I am about a year old and love to play fetch. I like to go outside with my foster family and love my squeaky toy. With my favorite toy in my mouth, I'm happy to sit and flop on the kitchen floor in the evenings when my foster family is cooking dinner. I love being loved on by my people! When I meet strangers, I am a little shy, but I warm up really quickly! I am a quick learner when it comes to potty training and am learning to show signals, such as going to the back door when I need to go. I settle into my crate at night and sleep through the night. Now I am looking for a forever family to call my own. Could that family be yours? Email info@habitat4paws.org for an application. **Because we require home visits, we only adopt locally to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. For more on adoption policies, please see the Adopt page of our website, www.habitat4paws.org.
