Story
Our boys are litter mates and from E. TX born in March of 2012. Zeb and Ouray have never spent a day apart and sleep touching one another. They are well behaved and housebroken. Zeb and Ouray are very gentle and just want to be loved. We have a 2 yr old grandbaby that jumps all over them and they have never shown any aggression towards him. Zeb & Ouray are indoor boys and would not survive summer heat. Our last of four children have graduated high school & left home. My husband does away work and I now have to be in the office all day. The boys are left alone way too long and it’s unfair to them. We are looking for someone that will keep them together and indoors. If that’s you we would love to consider you.

Story
Bree is a shy, sweet girl. She takes a little to warm up people, but once she does, she loves with all she is. She is not a fan of males and prefers to be around women. Bree does seek attention from the man in the house, but does it with her tail tightly tucked under her. She does not have an aggressive bone in her body.  She enjoys her daily *short* walks. Bree does have some back issues that require daily pain meds to manage. Because of this, she will not make a good long distance walking/running partner. She does love to play, and does have some energy. Don't let her age fool you. Bree does love other dogs. Having a calm, laid back dog around seems to give her confidence. She watches and learns from them. She tries to play with the resident dogs, and will push them around with her nose (a border collie trait) . She has also learned from the resident dog how to be "vocal" when playing...so they can sound pretty intimidating...but it is all show.  Bree loves to lay by you while you watch tv, sleep right by your bed, so close that you step on her when you get up. She will follow you to the kitchen, the bathroom, outside. She just longs to be wherever you are. Bree love, loves, LOVES food. She is a counter surfer and will be sure to check out ANYTHING (food or not) that you leave within her reach on the counter.   Bree is completely potty trained and does not need to be in a crate. She is NOT a fan of them to be honest. The perfect dream home for Bree would be with a family that has another laid back dog to hang out with and someone who will just love on this sweet girl in her golden years. ##443458##

Story
#519 - Freeway | AVAILABLE Freeway is a neutered male and is around 8 years old at approximately 45lbs. He is a Border Collie mix with an amazing, sweet and loveable personality… one of a “Gentle Old Soul”. Those were the words out Foster Dads' mouth when Freeway first arrived at the house. While Freeway's past is not to be forgotten, it is just that… the past. He is an extremely smart dog and he has quickly picked up on the Foster Family’s daily routine. He loves to ride around in the truck and loves to be around people and will hang out with you following you up and downstairs, around the yard as you do chores and lay at your feet while you read a book… naps are a huge plus for Freeway. Freeway is not only smart, but he is also incredibly funny as he loves to roll and wiggle around on the ground and will play box with your hands... this dog loves and respects people so he is gentle when he plays. Freeway is an inside dog but loves to go out and play frisbee with BCRRT Alumni Lilo. Well, he watches and sometimes chases her. He’s not toy motivated (probably because Lilo is a toy hog) but loves his belly scratches, ear scratches and will come up for a hug. He has amazing recall and will come running even while he’s in the middle of exploring the pasture from afar. He goes to massage therapy sessions with his Foster Mum and gets along well with the therapists' smaller pups. He also occasionally gets in a 30-minute session when FM isn’t looking. Foster Dad has nicknamed him Skippy since he happily runs around the yard skipping along the way (that back hip is still a little wonky). He would probably not be good with cats as he’s gone full throttle chasing the neighbors' cats as they run to find a place to hide from him. He is great with younger kids, however, they just need to be respectful of his past injuries so older ones would probably be better family members. Freeway is also not a fan of bigger or active dogs and can be a little grumpy and will snarl at them as he worries that they are going to run or bump into him. That is his way of showing them he needs more space than they are giving him... but he hangs out great with his 25lb foster brother all day long. He has thunder issues (which is probably what got him in trouble to begin with) but giving him some calming treats just before the storm really seems to help as well as an open crate to go hide out in until the storms have passed. He is super gentle around people and asks nicely to stop being massaged or brushed around his back end when he starts to hurt. He will either lick your hand or grab your sleeve with his mouth to get you to stop when he’s had enough. While Freeway needs daily exercise, it is at his own pace… and usually sleeps throughout the day moving from bed to bed trying to stay comfortable. Freeway is lucky to be alive and it did take a village to get him this far. He will always have pelvis and hip soreness and arthritis but this dog’s desire to live amazed everyone. He motivated the entire BCCRT team as well as the nurses and doctors that took such great care of him. Although he was in so much pain he was gentle and seemed to know everyone there were trying to help him. He braved through his rehab. He is a survivor and needs someone to give him a loving and comfy home for the rest of his life.

Story
Hi? Hello? Excuse me?! Oh...that’s right, I can’t hear you. My name is Kermit and I’m a very special type of puppy! I’m what you call a Double Merle. And I am the result of some terrible backyard breeding that allowed 2 merle dogs (in my case, most likely a BC and Catahoula) to breed which can run the risk of every puppy having a 25% chance of being like me! The reason we don’t want double Merle puppies in the world, though we are cute, is because we can come out with a few different “defects” like being blind or deaf. Though not guaranteed to happen, its more than likely. In my case I came out deaf and 80-90% blind! But that doesn’t stop me! I’m smart as a whip my foster mama says! I am learning to potty train, crate train and I love my fur siblings. I’ve learnt to navigate my foster home well (as long as they don’t move a chair or put shoes in my way!) I’m roughly 13 weeks old, up to date on my puppy vaccinations and just in need of a home who can understand the extra hands on training I’ll need! Someone who’s home might suit me well but I can also be alone for a few hours at a time (but no apartments please, I don’t realize how loud my cry is!)

Story
#736 - Stella | ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS Stella is probably a border collie/corgi mix and is around six years old. She is a very sweet, low energy girl who just wants to cuddle and be close to you on the couch or in the room. She likes other dogs and will often demonstrate appeasing behaviors such as licking their faces to show she wants to be friends. So far, she hasn’t shown much interest in playing with other dogs, but she does like to be around them. She would be fine as an only dog as well. She is a little overly interested in kitty friends, so she would do best in a home without cats. She really just wants to hang out and be your friend. Stella does have a moderate to severe case of separation anxiety. You may remember Stella from our recent lost dog fliers. When she first moved to her foster home and her foster parents went to work, she was scared and broke out. She would do best in a home where she was not alone for long periods of time, but when she is, she does well in a sturdy crate such as an airline crate. When you do get home, she is very excited and loves to cry and lick you. Stella is a little afraid of her surroundings still. She has been too nervous to venture out the front door on a walk or in the car, but she does love greeting people at the door. She is a very quiet dog and does not bark or run around much. She is extremely well potty trained. She really is just about the perfect companion for someone who just wants a dog to love on and love them. She does currently sleep in the bed with her teenage (human) foster sister, and she loves to just be close to you, usually sleeping at your feet, next to you, or at the very least across the room where she can clearly see you. Do you think you might be the right home for Stella? If so, please contact or send in an application today.

Story
My name is Lemon.  At three months I was rescued from a neglectful owner, I was dying of parvo.  I was sent directly to the emergency vet and spent several days hospitalized.  I am now a year old but my early experiences have left me very cautious and suspicious of new people.  I am working on my trust issues but I learn quickly especially when treats are involved.  Once I KNOW you, I LOVE you-but I need time, patience and an experienced owner who can keep helping my development. Love Lemon. Lemon is such a sweet loving girl, but first she needs to trust you.  So slow intros with this cutie are a must.  We are working on building Lemon's confidence, she recently went to Home Depot to practice some of her new commands.  Helping her overcome some of her fears and having fun too.  She just needs a little patience and time and she will be such an amazing companion. Lemon was found sick, emaciated, dehydrated and pitiful.  Living in deplorable conditions with several other dogs.  One of outreach volunteers was able to get her into our care. She was only 3 months old and had parvo; she spent a week in the ER getting fluids and medicine to help combat the effects of parvo.  We are going to help this girl get the life she deserves.   Lemon is doing amazing now, she gets to be a healthy, happy puppy now.  You would never know she was ever sick.  Beautiful, playful and ready for her happily ever after. All Dallas DogRRR adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption.  The standard minimum donation for puppies is $325 + 8.25% tax =  $351.81, for dogs over 12 months the adoption fee is $225 + 8.25% tax = $243.66 and for our senior dogs 8 years and up is $100 + 8.25% tax = $108.25; this increase includes sales tax recently required by the State of Texas to collect.  You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallasdogrrr.org.  For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.   Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process. Good with dogs,
Story
Gemma is the smartest and most expressive dog I've fostered.  She is sweet but a little anxious when meeting new people. Highly trainable and bonds hard with her human. She is a beautiful girl who loves all the dogs. She is, however, nervous of new people and needs some time and patience to build trust. If she’s given her space to approach and interact with you at her own pace she does well. Once you’ve earned her trust, you have the sweetest of sweets. Super submissive and wants to be with you all the time. She would do best in a home that can allow her more freedom initially to interact at her own pace without forcing/rushing it. Other dogs can help her to feel more comfortable as well. Because of her nervousness she would do best in a home with no small children. She has done very well with introductions to other dogs and people. Gemma knows basic cues (come, sit, down, stay, look) and does really well on leash.  She is blossoming into such a beautiful, loving, sweet girl.  She is going to make someone very happy with all the love she has to share. Poor Gemma came from a hoarding situation where she and her week old puppies were not getting the care and nutrition they needed.  She was too thin and weak to be able to nurse her babies.  Only 23 pounds. They are all safe in a foster home and beginning to look much healthier.  Gemma is a sweet little momma to her 5 puppies. Story
Poor little young momma was labeled 911 by the shelter, as she continued to postpartum bleed.  She was in the shelter with her 4 pups, they were doing well but mom was not she needed immediate care that included blood transfusion.  She was rescued and rushed to the ER just in time.  Her babies are being bottle feed and slowly moving to gruel. Schatzi is a German term of endearment literally meaning treasure.  When speaking of someone it shows how much you care, how much you value them, and just how much they mean to you.  Schatzi means another life saved to us.
