Story
Hello world! I'm Harper Leia and I'm a 5yr old border collie mix weighing about 65lbs. I had a rough start to the year - I was found wandering the streets with a badly broken front leg. But, I was all kisses and so thankful that the nice staff at Irving Animal Shelter and then my foster mom with PAWS for Irving Animals have been able to take such great care of me! I really love to be with my people and I'm good with the other dogs in my foster home. I LOVE squeaky toys and I'm happy to entertain myself with squeaks! I have good manners - I don't jump up, I sit for treats and affection and I know to run right into my kennel for breakfast and dinner. I'm healed up now and doing great! I still have a bit of a limp and probably always will, but I still love to chase squirrels in the yard and go on leashed walks. Ready to meet? IMPORTANT: This animal is NOT at Irving Animal Shelter. This dog has been rescued by PAWS for Irving Animals and is currently in foster care. To set up an appointment for us to bring the dog to meet you, please follow the instructions below. Dogs in our foster care program are: spayed/neutered microchipped up to date on all vaccinations negative for heartworms and on regular heartworm preventative OR recently treated for heartworms and on regular heartworm preventative (It can take up to 6 months for a dog to test negative for heartworm after treatments. We will provide you all the medical documentation regarding the pet's treatment.) in loving foster care homes where they have received training and socialization to help them fit into your home more quickly.  There are a few steps to set up the adoption. Complete the  Adoption Application  online. The online application is a web-based form that should be accessible on Mac, PC, tablet or mobile device. If you'd like us to send you a PDF via email, we can do that too! If you are meeting us at an event, you can complete the application at the event itself. We require the application in advance so we can get to know a little more about you, and for better safety of our fosters and the dogs.   Schedule a home visit. After the adoption application is received, a volunteer from PAWS for Irving Animals work with you to find the best time to meet the pet. Depending on your schedule and the schedule of the pet's foster parents, this might be at a scheduled adoption event (Adoption Events), an area park, or your home. If that initial visit goes well, a volunteer will visit your home with the pet you are interested in adopting. We will ensure that the pet you are interested in has the opportunity to meet all the members of your immediate family, including other pets, to ensure that this adoption is a good fit. We can even do a trial adoption for a period of up to 3 days if you would like. (Note: If you choose to do a trial adoption, we will hold a check for the full price of the adoption fee until you make your final decision. If you choose not to adopt, we will return the check to you when we pick up the dog.)   Pay the adoption fee. The adoption fee is $200 for dogs under 12 months and $150 for dogs over 12 months of age. The adoption fee covers many elements: full vetting (spay, vaccinations, etc), registration of microchip to you, etc. You have 3 options for payment: Via check. This can be either given to foster/volunteer at adoption hand-off or mailed as a check made out to "PAWS for Irving Animals" with "Adoption - DOG NAME" in the memo line. The check can be given to PAWS representative at time of adoption. Online at  https://www.pawsforirvinganimals.org/available-dogs-in-foster-care/pay-your-adoption-fee/ .  Be sure to select the correct amount - $200 for dogs under 12 months and $150 for dogs over 12 months. You can pay via PayPal as a "Friends & Family" transfer to PAWSforIrvingAnimalsLLC@Gmail.com

Story
Angel is a 10 month old Sheepdoodle / Border Collie mix and is about 50 lbs. He's high energy and hardly sheds at all! He believes everyone is a friend and will run up to every stranger to introduce himself. He is very curious and loves to explore everything. At night, he will cuddle right up to you to sleep. He is very trainable and knows all the basic commands. He is house broken and crate trained. He is neutered, micro chipped, and current on all vaccinations. I would recommend families with older children. He's still a puppy and will likely knock down little kids. Ideal home would have large backyard and someone at home during the day to spend time with him. I'm also trying to find a new home for his littermate sister, Blossom. I'd love to get them adopted together but would consider separating them to find the best fit.

Story
This sweet girl is a playful and loving dog who is very loyal. Her birthday is March 15, 2016 so she is out of her puppy stage. Juno will be your shadow companion always. Her favorite scratch spot is her back! If you let her, she’ll be your snuggle buddy wherever you are. She also loves to have fun! Fetching, tug, searching for hidden things are her favorite. She is so smart and can read your expressions. She can sit, high five, down, stay, wait, and speak. Juno loves life and wants to love it with you. She is a sweet girl who loves a steady leader. She is good with playful cats but might get into trouble with not playful cats. She can be an only dog where she can love and follow her master, but she will do well in a multi dog home as long as they are playful. Juno is the best loyal friend you can find!
