My other safe place is foster mom's closet.  I’m getting braver every day as I periodically leave my safe place to go find where my foster family is and just to see what’s going on…I may be timid, but I’m inquisitive and like to check out the goings on in my foster home. I am potty trained for the most part especially if nothing scares me, but I don’t voice my desire or need to go out, so I will sometimes potty in the house if you don't keep me on a schedule.  I just know though that once I understand that I’m really safe with and loved by my family I will hopefully let my people know when I need to potty. I do really well in my foster family's fenced yard and go straight out once she opens the door and come back in easily as well. I like to sniff around the yard and enjoy the sunshine. I will walk whilst tethered to one of those leash things, but I startle very easily and tend to run away if something frightens me, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me. I am also afraid of loud noises, overwhelming commotion, and new things in general, so I’m not really sure how I would do with those little people, other dogs, or those purring things. My foster mom says that I’m a pretty girl and I must admit that I completely agree with her…she’s very smart!  I am also a fast learner who is becoming more curious and interested in my surroundings every day.  I have an enormous amount of unconditional love to share and would love nothing more than to find a furever home with someone who will love me unconditionally and keep me safe…I want so much to be safe and loved because I know that will help me blossom into the confident girl I was destined to be. I might be a little bit of a project because I am so timid but it will make every new milestone all the more exciting. If you are the person who would like to help me become more confident, I would really like to meet you.  Please come take me to my new furever home, I’ll be here waiting for you!   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. He’s an 9 year old, 14-lb Chihuahua. He is very cheerful and playful. He loves playing fetch with stuffy toys and snuggling in a blanket. He is house and crate trained. He is doing well on the leash, so he does not need a fenced in yard. Stuart is very fearful of men.  Introductions with new people should be supervised and done respectfully. A female only household would be best for him. He is great with all friendly dogs and he does okay with cats but sometime he will pester them.  Smalley is a firm believer that the best defense is a good offense. When he gets scared, he can become a fear biter. Once he has an established relationship with you, that's much less likely to happen. If there are no big dogs that scare him, it's even less likely. I’m a pretty shy girl and I get very scared of loud noises and a lot of commotion, but I am working on it; I am getting braver every day and once I get to know you, I’m a little cuddle bug. I love social gatherings with other doggies that are around the same size as I am, but I’m not so sure about those cat things as I’ve not had much time with them.  There are these other things I’ve heard of and I believe they’re called kids or children…yeah, I’m not so good with them.  They are way too loud and rambunctious for me...they scare me.  I would really love for my new furever home to have another doggie my size and some toys…especially those squeaky ones…with which I can play.  I also likes me some treats…I’m not picky either. I’m working on doing my personal business outside, but in case of accidents my foster mom lays out these pads for me to use.  My foster mom and I are also working on getting me used to going into this super safe place she calls a crate and using this rope thing she calls a leash.  There is so much to learn, but I am smart and I just know that with patience, lots of love and support, I will be successful in all of my endeavors.  I’m just glad that my foster home has a fenced yard for me to run in, I know for sure that I will want a fenced yard at my new home too.  It’s just so much fun running around, being free, and knowing that I’m safe. I really would love to meet you so hopefully you will come see me soon.  I promise I will be your bestest friend!   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Let me tell you about her. She is a very sweet little girl, but she's very shy and a little skittish. She is starting to warm up to her foster mom giving her affection and picking her up.  She has vision degeneration, which is part of why she seems unsure, especially about hands coming toward her and trying to pet her or pick her up.  She is not at all aggressive and never appears as though she would bite. She's become very attached to another foster that she lives with, and while she may be okay as an only dog, she will likely be happier with another dog in her forever home; she does seem to prefer male dogs. She loves to sit in the sun in the bay window and watch the world. She’s even been out to eat at a restaurant and she did pretty well. She was very curious about everything and wanted to climb everywhere on the patio. After a bit, she just sat in her foster mom’s lap and chilled out. Paula really just likes to lounge around on the couch or bed.  She loves to snuggle but will sometimes need to be encouraged.  Her favorite thing is having her face and head rubbed and scratched.  She enjoys walks and car rides.  She also likes people, even strangers.  Paula hasn't responded to any toys yet, but she does like treats. She is a bit food crazy!  She just loves her meals and her treats.  She adores all the doggy beds on the couch too.  Going out to the yard to hang with the other dogs is pretty great as  well.  She knows when it's bedtime and comes into the bedroom. She allows her foster mom to pick her up and for the most part she stays in the bed for the night. She can become afraid of overwhelming commotion or someone going too quickly to try to pet her. For this reason, she would do best in a home without children. She is very close to being house broken and does well on a consistent schedule. She has not spent time in a crate yet. She does occasionally walk on leash and requires a specific harness. She does well, but she does need a fenced in yard. She is learning a command for ‘outside’. She will bark when someone comes to the door or even at her foster mom. Paula needs a home with a lot of patience and time to warm up to her new human(s). She will get there.  She can surprise her foster mom sometimes and will snuggle up on her legs during a nap; however, she doesn't really like to be held too long. It’s a start and she’s well on her way to being the best girl she can be.  She is a very good girl who is low maintenance and loving.        Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. 50 Cent aka Jobie JH My name is 50 Cent, but luckily I don't have 21 questions for you. Just a few questions. Do you have a vehicle? I like ridin' in a vehicle, so I make and ideal traveling companion, I don't mind if it's a hoopty or a Benz. I can fit in any type of car eve a Fiat or Kia Soul, because I am Just a Lil Bit of doggie at 12 pounds and 2 years old, this Chihuahua Terrier body of mine will not grow anymore. I will litterally also be small enough for you to sing Go Shawty, it's your birfday. Despite my rugged good looks and tough boy image, I am a little shy meeting new people, dogs and cats, but once I do, I will be a good buddy to all of them. I like to be held by people, so come give me a hug if you're into getting rubbed. I am playful with other dogs, but prefer my buddies to be lower energy and too off the wall. It's not a night club, calm down guys and take it easy. I did come into the rescue group with Heartworms, but I was recently treated and now I am better and can move in with you. I have been around the block, but I am ready to "love you more than a ... kid loves cake as in the words of my namesake, 50 Cent, 21 Questions circa 2009.

Story
Meet Biggie Smalls NR Name: My name is Biggie Smalls emfursis on the biggie if you are a Chihuahua, but emfursis on the smalls if you are a Great Dane. It’s all relative. Relative to my brothers and sisters, I am size huge, they are 4 lbs, I am 15 lbs. We all came out of a 10 pound Momma. Birthday: October 7th is the day the that shall forever be the commemuttration of my entry into this world. Favorite Song: Hypnotize by the Notoriruffs BIG, his nickname was also Biggie Smalls. Poppa been smooth since days of underroos. I don’t know what it means, but I like it because I am also smooth. Breed: I am a “little husky” according to some. But I am not a Husky breed. I am a Texas sized chonk of a Chihuahua at 15 pounds, nevertheless, my Momma is indeed a Chihuahua. I was just bigger and brighter than your average Chi, practically walking at one week old. Three Words To Describe: Adventuruffs, curious and brave. Brave except at my first adoption event, the actual biggie dogs were a little scary at first. Favorite Things: People, attention, rubs, food. People holding me and rubbing me and feeding me food. Like a Grecian god getting grapes thrown into his mouth as ladies surround him with fans made of leaves. Except switch out the grapes for pepperonis and the fans with leaves for human hands rubbing me. If that sounds cool to you, put in an application for me! Basics: Biggie Smalls NR- male, DOB 10/7/2019, 15 lbs, Chihuahua/Terrier mix, tricolor, good with dogs, good with kids, curious, adventurous, smart, loves people and attention

These pups are in St Louis Park, Minnesota too!

I’m potty trained, but need to be let out every 2-3 hours to make sure I make it outside!  I don’t walk on the leash every day, so I need more help with that and will need a fenced yard.  I know a couple of commands: kennel/crate and go potty.  I’m sure I can easily learn more with patience! I get along with other dogs so well that I prefer to have another one in my new home.  Not only will they be my playmate, but they’ll be teaching me how to dog properly.  I’m not so sure about cats or young children yet, so I can’t say how I am around them.  What I do know is that I’m a super sweet little girl and anyone will be lucky to have me!  Can I join your family?   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. I'm Ruxpin, you know like Teddy Ruxpin? I look like him I'm told. I'm like a really fluffy red bear cub at 16 pounds. I'm new to rescue and I'm a pretty shy guy. Things become less scary for me with every passing day though. I learned how to use stairs on my 2nd day in foster care and I did it all by myself. I wonder if that's a record? I'm also as quiet as could be in my crate which I guess is something humans appreciate. I'm doing really good on potty training, but my foster mom says it's beginners luck because I'm bound to have an accident at some point. I think I can do it though, I mean I know you're suppose to go outside. I'm smarter than the average bear!  I've got high hopes for myself, I'm going to be the best dog someday. I need to build confidence though and in order to do that I need another dog in my home to teach me the way of the dog. I will be brave and learn so that I can be the best friend to whoever my furever person(s) ends up being. I also need a fenced yard at least until I build confidence because I'm really afraid of stuff and I get this overwhelming urge to get away from anything that makes me feel uncomfortable. I'm going to get better, I know I am. I'm still afraid of my foster mom even though she gives me these meaty marrow bones that are so good. I think she's nice, I really do, but everything is just so new to me and especially nice people. I'm not used to that yet, so I have a hard time trusting. If you're in to fluffy bear cubs and looking to show them you're a good person and that I can trust you ,than please, fill out one of the fancy application things I need in order to meet you. Please?
