Story
Scarlet is a local owner surrender who is super friendly and loves to play. She has lived with dogs, cats and kids and does fine with everyone. She is 98% housebroken but still uses a potty pad once in a while. She is crate trained and doesn't bark excessively. From her foster: Scarlet is such a sweet, loving girl who is learning to trust and get comfortable in new situations. She loves nothing more than some belly rubs and to be around her people. She has really been enjoying walks as the weather warms up, meal time, and wrestle matches with her small dog foster sis! Scarlet gets a little nervous with new people and situations, but once she has time to adjust she is such a sweetheart! She does well with adults, teens, and older children. She has not been around children under 10 years of age. Scarlet would love a home where her person is around during the day. She gets a little lonely and can bark and howl when left alone. Because of this shared walls are not recommended. Scarlet is potty trained on a regular schedule and has a history of using potty pads and is good about using those on a rainy or extra chilly days!

Story
Hi, I'm Ghiradeli! I'm from Alabama. She is listed and a Chi-Terrier mix, with the "lively, quick, alert and devoted characteristics of a Chi and the affectionate, spunky and playfulness attitude of a terrier. She often is jumping up to see who is at the door, and enjoys watching out the window, yet she does so without barking. As of 5/5/24, she weighs 11 lbs and has a silky short coat with very minimal shedding, and large light brown eyes. The tips of her ears flop down, but given the right wind, can float up (similar to a Chi!) Ghiridelli is a people-dog, and will be devoted to her humans; but also want to play with my dog. She has not exhibited anxiety when going into the crate, and although she enjoys the company of her humans, she will go into her bed in the same room. We leave the door of it open during the day, and she will go in there on her own and sleep. When following a schedule, she is potty trained, but I have not known her long enough to trust her uncrated by herself. Additionally, she sleeps throughout the night, happily entering it without struggle. She does make cute dream/snoring sounds sometimes, and I wonder if she is running in her sleep! Training wise, she is very eager to learn and is highly food motivated! I would recommend doing training classes because she is so intelligent and it would be a mentally stimulating environment, but it isn't necessary! She has sharp teeth at the moment, but has not chewed on cords, shoes etc. She does get over excited when giving kisses, and sometimes her sharp teeth get involved, but that is redirect able and not intentional. Two areas that I would want to address would be recall (as she is very fast, and loves to sniff things so it is sometimes hard to get her attention back) and jumping (she just wants to see what is going on!). We have not achieved loose-leash walking, but she does respect her leash and will walk while it is attached. The final thing would be that a fenced yard would be wonderful for her, or at the ability to have access to an area that she could run without fear of escaping.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hercules here. My foster mom calls me Ichabod, as in Ichabod Crane. I can be nervous and shy when I first meet someone, but give me time and you'll see how great I can be.  I can be a little nippy and bark when I am feeling uncomfortable in new situations.  I do well with kids who respect my insecurities and let me warm up to them before they approach. Dogs are my favorite! I love playing with dogs of all sizes, but can sometimes try to intimidate the bigger ones; what can I say, I have a "Napoleon Complex."  My foster mom says I am a funny dude with a lot of love and snuggles to give.  Will you give me the time and love I rightfully deserve? For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org.  You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!   Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <underdogrescue@petml.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Due to concern around COVID-19, Underdog Rescue is suspending all public adoption events and community events. We are still accepting applications for available dogs but are delaying in-person meet and greets due to the ‘stay at home’ policy. Thank you for your support.  DOB:  7/01/2011 Requires another dog in home: Yes Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Yes Requires a fenced yard:  Yes Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hello, my name is Regina and I am an adorable adult female Chihuahua who has beautiful long hair. I will admit that I am a pretty timid lady, so I prefer to hang out in my safe place…you humans call it a kennel, but for me it’s a safe place. My other safe place is foster mom's closet.  I’m getting braver every day as I periodically leave my safe place to go find where my foster family is and just to see what’s going on…I may be timid, but I’m inquisitive and like to check out the goings on in my foster home. I am potty trained for the most part especially if nothing scares me, but I don’t voice my desire or need to go out, so I will sometimes potty in the house if you don't keep me on a schedule.  I just know though that once I understand that I’m really safe with and loved by my family I will hopefully let my people know when I need to potty. I do really well in my foster family's fenced yard and go straight out once she opens the door and come back in easily as well. I like to sniff around the yard and enjoy the sunshine. I will walk whilst tethered to one of those leash things, but I startle very easily and tend to run away if something frightens me, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me. I am also afraid of loud noises, overwhelming commotion, and new things in general, so I’m not really sure how I would do with those little people, other dogs, or those purring things. My foster mom says that I’m a pretty girl and I must admit that I completely agree with her…she’s very smart!  I am also a fast learner who is becoming more curious and interested in my surroundings every day.  I have an enormous amount of unconditional love to share and would love nothing more than to find a furever home with someone who will love me unconditionally and keep me safe…I want so much to be safe and loved because I know that will help me blossom into the confident girl I was destined to be. I might be a little bit of a project because I am so timid but it will make every new milestone all the more exciting. If you are the person who would like to help me become more confident, I would really like to meet you.  Please come take me to my new furever home, I’ll be here waiting for you!   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. He’s an 9 year old, 14-lb Chihuahua. He is very cheerful and playful. He loves playing fetch with stuffy toys and snuggling in a blanket. He is house and crate trained. He is doing well on the leash, so he does not need a fenced in yard. Stuart is very fearful of men.  Introductions with new people should be supervised and done respectfully. A female only household would be best for him. He is great with all friendly dogs and he does okay with cats but sometime he will pester them.  Smalley is a firm believer that the best defense is a good offense. When he gets scared, he can become a fear biter. Once he has an established relationship with you, that's much less likely to happen. If there are no big dogs that scare him, it's even less likely. He needs a home with a mom who is willing to love him unconditionally, and who would give him the time and space to learn to trust and feel safe. He’s on high alert for his very best forever home. Might that be yours? He promises to love you forever.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. I’m a pretty shy girl and I get very scared of loud noises and a lot of commotion, but I am working on it; I am getting braver every day and once I get to know you, I’m a little cuddle bug. I love social gatherings with other doggies that are around the same size as I am, but I’m not so sure about those cat things as I’ve not had much time with them.  There are these other things I’ve heard of and I believe they’re called kids or children…yeah, I’m not so good with them.  They are way too loud and rambunctious for me...they scare me.  I would really love for my new furever home to have another doggie my size and some toys…especially those squeaky ones…with which I can play.  I also likes me some treats…I’m not picky either. I’m working on doing my personal business outside, but in case of accidents my foster mom lays out these pads for me to use.  My foster mom and I are also working on getting me used to going into this super safe place she calls a crate and using this rope thing she calls a leash.  There is so much to learn, but I am smart and I just know that with patience, lots of love and support, I will be successful in all of my endeavors.  I’m just glad that my foster home has a fenced yard for me to run in, I know for sure that I will want a fenced yard at my new home too.  It’s just so much fun running around, being free, and knowing that I’m safe. I really would love to meet you so hopefully you will come see me soon.  I promise I will be your bestest friend!   Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
