Story
I acquired scrapie from my parents, they no longer could care for her so before they took her to a shelter I welcomed her to my home for about the past 6 months. Well she has lived outside her whole entire life I actually found her in my dad junkyard when she was about 3 weeks old and feed her out of a bottle. I’m now in my own house which happens to be a rental property with a dog that has never lived inside before is highly difficult- meaning that if she is caged she will dig at the corner of the cage and rip up carpet. She is around 8-9 years old, she had a sister that used to live with her and she does a few months ago and she has been very anxiety driven since. Scrapie needs a forever home she is such a HUGE sweetheart and is an extremely loyal dog - she will follow you everywhere. And plays well with my other 3 dogs.

My name is Minnie and I am blind. Please don't feel sorry for me, I can still see shadows and my hearing is still pretty good. If you would like to meet me, please do not be alarmed as I will need to bark to get my bearings in my new environment. I LLLOOOOVVVEEE treat time, I even stand on my back 2 legs and do a dance! I also enjoy car rides, couch time, (But I need to be careful not to fall off) ohhh and loves! I loved to be petted and rubbed on. If I sound like I would be a good fit for your family, please contact Chihuahua Rescue Indiana, Inc and put in an app!!

Story
Hi, my name is Millicent, but my foster mom calls me Millie for short. For 7 years I was in a puppy mill where I lived in a cage and had lots and lots of puppies every year. Thankfully that's a thing of the past. I got spayed and my teeth are clean now! I also have a heart murmur; vet care wasn't a big thing at the mill. I'm learning how to be a real dog. I really like to be petted and to sleep on a comfy bed. I can get scared easily, though, so you have to go very slowly with me. Can you be the human I need to help me get comfortable in the real world? Chihuahua Rescue says Millie is very sweet, though very timid. Whatever is new is scary because she's had so few experiences outside the mill. She will try to bolt and find a place to hide when she's scared, so you have to be sure she has a harness and leash on every time she goes outdoors, unless it's a securely fenced yard. Millie makes very little noise and is pretty reliable using potty pads in the house. She will go potty outside, but hasn't learned how to ask to go out yet. She's not interested in going out in cold or wet weather. Millie is good with all the other dogs at her foster mom's house, and ignores the cat. She would do best in a quiet household with maybe one or 2 other pets and older children who can understand her need for quiet, gentle care. Updated 1/29/18 by CG

Story
My name is Pedro Lopez, nice to meet you. I am 8 years old and must find a 'fur'ever home with my sister, Mama Mia - we are a bonded pair. We have been together our whole lives! If you may be interested in two little chi-chi friends fill out an application. My foster mom keeps telling me I look like a little potato; she likes to call me Pedro Potato. I keep telling her it's embarrassing, but she does not listen. My tongue seems to fall out of my mouth sometimes, it gives me character! I love other dogs and cats! Chihuahua Rescue says I am about 4 pounds at 8 years old. I am fully crate trained and partially housebroken. I will use potty pads and go outside. Little kids are a little too fast. I would prefer children ages 8 and up. The adoption fee for Mama Mia and me is $450. Adoption can be finalized after a dental is preformed. Talk about a BOGO deal! Could you be my special someone? Story
My name is Mama Mia, nice to meet you. I am 8 years old and must find a 'fur'ever home with my brother, Pedro Lopez - we are a bonded pair. We have been together our whole lives! If you may be interested in two little chi-chi friends fill out an application. My foster mom always sings a song to me, "Mamma Mia" by ABBA. I get excited and hop around and have the zoomies when she does, I like to be the life of a party, but naps are good too. I will follow you around everywhere. Can I be your shadow? I love other dogs and cats! Chihuahua Rescue says I am about 4 pounds at 8 years old. I am fully crate trained and partially housebroken. I will use potty pads and go outside. Little kids are a little too fast, I would prefer children ages 8 and up. I will need joint supplements to support all my dancing around. The adoption fee for both Pedro Lopez and me is $450. Talk about a BOGO deal! Could you be my special someone? AR 12/21/19

Story
Oh the things we will do together! I am a super fun and adorable girl, but know that I would do best as an only child. I just am so anxious to have a home of my own. I love people but I can be selective about other dogs. And one of my current hobbies is to chase kitties, so I'd do better in a home without cats. I love soft beds and sitting by your head on the back of the couch. I also would PREFER to sleep with you. I like to burrow under the covers. I love a fenced yard where we can play with squeaky toys and tennis balls, and I can run and play like the fun little dog I am!! I do well in the house as long as I have a routine. I was in a wonderful home and was very loved since I was a puppy , but my people had to make a cross country move and I wasn't able to go. So my mom told Chihuahua Rescue that they needed to please find me a WONDERFUL home, and that's what they are doing. Can it be with you? Chihuahua Rescue says: Cody came to rescue with a handwritten letter from her former home, describing her awesome traits and explaining how loved she was. It was very sad. She was a little shy on actual vet care, so we are getting her caught up on that. She is a spectacular pet, A little shy but warms up quickly. She will be great with friendly older kids, but not too man. She needs walks on a leash and someone who will play fetch with her. This is a very special dog, I could see her trained as a therapy dog perhaps? She is just extremely special . Local adoption only. Indianapolis and surrounding area. Cody's adoption fee is $300. She is altered and vaccines heart worm test and micro-chip are current.
