Story
Mojo is a rescued dog that is about 2 years old although we'll never really know his birthday so we made it st. Patrick's day. He's a very loving dog with a really sad history. He was found in an abandoned house by a friend of ours. We ended up learning the original owners left him on purpose. He was very skinny only 30ish pound at 1 yrs old and very visible ribs. She kept him for a month while trying to rehome him and since we were looking for a additional dog we decided to take him in However he's not 100% ok. It's hard to explain but he has really bad anxiety. He reacts like he's been beaten and it breaks our hearts. He's good with our animals (1 other dog and 3 cats) or animals he has over a week to get used too but he's fought a lot of other dogs. It seems out of anxiety or fear. He hates violence or what he percieves as violence. And has on 1 occasion bitten me in the leg. He's can be destructive out of anxiety too he's chewed up a door, trim, part of a wall and his kennel.

Story
He is a sweet dog but has high needs. He likes to chew on everything and has separation anxiety. We simply do not have the time in our busy schedules to give him the attention he deserves. He is house trained but may have accidents if not taken outside often.

**Thank you for your interest in the dogs of Mackenzie's Animal Sanctuary! At this time, due to the Coronavirus, the adoption program at Mackenzie's has been put on hold, and we will no longer be accepting new adoption applications. Please watch our website (www.mackenzies.info) or follow us on Facebook for the most up to date information, as this is how we will announce when we are resuming our normal adoption activities. We thank you again for your understanding and unwavering support, and want to assure you that our dogs are receiving excellent care as we endeavor through this challenging time.** I'm Stormy! I'm a two year old husky mix - I was found as a stray before coming to Mackenzie's. My D.O.B. is 10/28/16. As a husky, I'm pretty high energy. I love attention, but I also have a bit of an independent streak. I love to run straight to you and try to get on your lap. I love to snuggle and love attention. I really like rawhide's and my food, so I am working on sharing, at MAS as we speak. I would be best with kids over 12. Meet your Match Canine-ality: Orange Busy Bee!! For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption application and survey at www.mackenzies.info

We thank you again for your understanding and unwavering support, and want to assure you that our dogs are receiving excellent care as we endeavor through this challenging time.** Hi there! I'm Handsome Higbee (as many around MAS call me)! Admittedly I'm biased, but I have to say I agree... More important than looks though, I'm a happy and nice fella all the way around! My birthday is 11/8/11; you know what they say though - age is just a number! I still have plenty of energy to run and play - I'm up for long walks if that's your thing...but I'm just as content to cuddle up instead! I'm up for anything really, as long as I'm hanging with my people! Meeting new people and joining them in whatever they're doing is really what I like doing the most. I've worked hard mastering my commands and learning how to walk like a model (ask anyone! I'm perfect on leash!), and I'm all ready to find a nice home for myself! Fill out an application or ask about me today! Meet-Your-Match Canine-ality color is: Orange Busy Bee!!! For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. I'm a pretty new arrival to MAS, and the staff and volunteers are still getting to know me. Coming to a brand new place, I've been a little shy, but I'm starting to get more comfortable and warm up to all the great people here! Once I'm comfortable, I'm a big leaner and I love pets and attention. Kids make me nervous still, so I'd prefer a nice quiet home. I'd also do best in a home without cats! I've done well meeting dogs so far here too. The staff will update my info with more details as they get to know me, Meet-Your-Match Canine-ality color is: For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. I'm Jazzie! I'm a senior, but if you saw me swimming out in the pond, you'd have a hard time believing it! If the staff here let me, I'd swim all day long! No better way to enjoy a Michigan summer, if you ask me. The staff here have told me that I'm one of the smartest dogs they've met. While I don't like to brag, I will admit that I know a TON of commands, and I'm always excited to learn some more. I love taking walks and exploring - such a great way to stay sharp! Now, it might sound like I'm always on the go, but I'm a popular "office helper” here at Mackenzie’s, which means I like to keep my human friends company while they work. I have a couple favorite dog beds that I love to sprawl out on, and when I sense my humans need a break, I’ll get up for some cuddles and pets. As I get into my golden years, a quiet home without other pets would make me happiest. I'm more of a "person" dog, if you know what I mean. If you've got a quiet home and would like to add a well-mannered and super smart canine companion, we should meet! Fill out an application and mention me!
