Story
Hey. My name's Marley. I'm a pit/lab mix, 5.5 years old, 70 lbs, & I have a bright brindle coloring. I've been pretty nervous since I first came here. I've jumped around a little bit, some good homes, some not so good. I've gotten more comfortable in my time here, though. I used to sit in the corner & growl & bark at everyone, but I realized I couldn't get any pets or butt scratches that way, so I figured I could at least be nice to the people here! I'm still not a huge fan of people that walk by, but I'm getting less paranoid every day. I'd like my new home to be a quieter place, not a lot of noise or action or anything like that. I'm gonna be a senior soon, you know! I'm not a puppy anymore! I don't really mind other animals all that much, but I don't really "like" them either. I'd get used to them eventually, everything with me just takes some extra time. I've been through a lot in my life, so I'm definitely not the most trusting dog you've ever met, but if I do decide that you're someone I can trust, I'll protect you to my dying breath! I'm very protective, mostly over women & little kids, but there's a couple guys I don't mind as well. I might seem like a grouchy old man at first, but I've got a heart full of love for anyone who's willing to give me the chance to show it! I've already been neutered, but I'll need to go to the vet to have a couple more things done before I can leave. Maybe if you come by & check me out it'll make that process go a bit faster! All I want is another chance at a new home! Hopefully for good this time!

Story
YEAH BABY, YEAH!! Allow myself to introduce....myself. My name's Mojo! I'm a Border Collie, 8 years old (but I'm still groovy, baby!), 60 lbs, & I have a black & white coloring. Alright, throw me a frickin' bone here! I may be a bit older, but I'm not THAT bloody old. I'm just livin' like were in the swingin' 60's, love! If we're gettin' into all those "technicalities" I wasn't actually alive then, but age is just a number, baby, it's all about the mindset! Us Border Collies are originally from the UK, so now that I'm in America, you can refer to me as the "International Dog of Mystery!" I was on a cheeky lil' spy mission up north, but my partners (or "owners" as some people would call them) left me behind. I'd give them a good judo chop if I could! An officer in that area that knew me brought me here. He's a good bloke, that one. Salt of the Earth! I came in lookin' just mingin' all covered in muck, but I got a bath an' a lil' trim & I'm good as new! It's a bit borin' here though, innit? I've had bugger all to do. I'm in this kennel most of the day, & I've gotta take turns goin' outside with some of the other dogs. It's not all bad, though. There are some groovy-lookin' gals in this place! They're always nice to have a gander at! They might prefer some of the younger lads in here rather than an old chap like me, but I always catch them havin' a quick gander over in my direction! They can't resist after I show them my beautiful howling voice! I've still got it, baby! I'm a right gentleman, though. After a play date (I could play fetch for hours!) I get absolutely knackered & need to rest a bit, & that's wen I'll be ready for a nice cuddlin' session. Oh, behave baby! I'm not the uppity "posh & proper" type! I don't need some fancy ol' place to live in. As long as I've got a lovely someone to swing with, everything will be groovy with me, baby! Just between us, mate, I may act outgoing & confident on the outside, but once you get to know me, You'll see I'm actually a more quiet, loving ol' boy. I'd love to have a partner who sees that & is willing to give me plenty more happy years before I go! I've still got plenty of Mojo left, baby! I'll still need to be neutered before I can leave. If you're lookin' for a swingin' partner to help you get that lost Mojo back, look no further baby!

Story
Like a modern day Bonnie & Clyyyyde!!! WOAH! Don't sneak up on me like that! Don't you know how to knock? Whatever. Name's Clyde. I'm a Lab/Shepherd mix, 8 months old, 38 lbs, & I have a black & brown coloring. What was I doing there? Well, just singing my favorite song! It's by this guy named Travis Tritt. It's about a girl who robs this convenience store, & holds the driver at gunpoint, &...ah, nevermind. It'd take to long to explain. It just holds a special place in my heart is all. Me & my sister Bonnie came to this here jail recently. Well, I guess it's not as bad as what I was in before. I was stuck in a crate in an apartment for like a week, while she got to run around the place all she wanted! The people that were with us before left us there for like a week & never came back, so that's when the cops showed up. Bonnie surrendered & went willingly, but I'm not so easy to bring in! I put up a fight, let me tell ya! Them cops didn't stand a chance! They had to call for backup. Some people came from the place I'm at now & got me. I fought back at first, but they had treats. Hey, what can I say? I'm a sucker for a Beggin' Strip! I figured it was a losing battle & went with them & Bonnie. It's not so bad here. I get 2 meals a day, time outside, all that good stuff. Some of the other dogs around here make me realize how small time my life of crime was! Some of these guys are huge! They're 70, 80, even 90 lbs! They must've been some rough dogs if they've been in here long enough to pump some iron like that! Maybe I'm not such a bad guy after all? Maybe none of the dogs here are. Maybe they've just had a rough life like me & need another chance at it? Hmm, maybe it's time for ol' Clyde to turn over a new leaf! Clean up the streets, not join them! Besides, I know how the story of Bonnie & Clyde ended. If I don't change now, it might not be pretty. Maybe you can be the one that sets me on the right path! I might seem like a mean guy at first, but if you spend a little time with me, I'm just like any other dog! I like to play & stuff just like other puppies do! I may have a rough past, but we can have a bright future together! I'll still need to be neutered before I can leave. If you're looking for a guy who was born into a bad life & needs a 2nd chance, I'm the dog for you! Now, if you'll excuse me. I need to go find my old Travis Tritt CD's.

Story
Hey! My name's Moose! I'm a Border Collie/Shepherd mix, 1.5 years old, 50 lbs, & I've got a brown/black/white coloring. I originally came from here about 6 months ago, but I had to be returned recently due to my owners having some personal issues that no longer allowed them to have an animal. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" so they say. Some people that come by say I'm the cutest boy in here, & others say I'm kinda goofy lookin, but either way they all have to stop & check out how cool I am! I've been told I definitely have a personality! To be honest, I'm kind of a paranoid guy. I can get pretty jumpy & flinchy around people, sometimes I get scared & pee myself, but I don't bite! Well, at least I don't bite PEOPLE. Dogs on the other hand, I can't make any promises. I guess that kinda goes back to me being paranoid. I don't like other dogs in my personal space & I'm not afraid to snarl & let them know they need to back the h*ck up! Sorry for that foul language, I just REALLY don't like other dogs. I haven't been around cats all that much, but I have a feeling we wouldn't get along all that well either. Only humans for this guy! I may take a bit of time & effort to adjust to a new home, but what dog wouldn't? Once I get comfortable with everything, I'm just what you would expect from a young, playful dog! I promise if you're willing to just be patient with me, I'll be an awesome companion to have by your side for a long, long time! I'm up to date on all my shots, neutered, chipped, & ready to go! If you're hunting for Moose this year, then I can be your trophy!

Story
Hi! My name is Della! I'm a pit mix, 9 years old, 60 lbs, & I have a black coloring with just a bit of white. I'm a gentle old soul, though I might be a bit misunderstood. Obviously, as you can tell, I can't see too well. It makes it hard for me to tell who I'm looking at sometimes, or even how close they are to me. That makes me get nervous, & I bark at people who walk by, but I don't try to bite or anything! At least not people, I can't say the same when it comes to other dogs! I don't really like having them around at all, although I have been around cats & they don't bother me. I got my injuries a while ago, & while I'm all recovered now in terms of pain & stuff like that, it left an effect on my body that'll probably last for the rest of my days. I'm kinda clumsy, so one day at my old home I was going down the stairs & tripped. I fell down & my eye got hurt, & I hurt my back legs, so I walk kinda wobbly now & I stumble a bit sometimes. It doesn't help that I also have traces of Lyme disease in my blood, but I take stuff that helps with my joints for that. That doesn't make me any less playful, though! I still love to run & hop around the yard at my own pace & I haven't lost my puppy spirit! I'd love to go to any kind of home, honestly! I could be a family dog, or just a companion, I'd be happy either way. I'm just a happy girl in general! I'm up to date on shots, spayed, chipped, & ready to go! I also tested negative for heartworm. Who's willing to take a chance on a crippled old lady like me with a heart full of love to give for her last few years?

Story
Hi! My name is Harley! I'm a Pit Bull Terrier, 3.5 years old, 75 lbs, & I have a brown & white coloring. You might remember me, I was here for about 6 months, then I got adopted a year ago. Unfortunately, my owner got really sick & isn't able to take care of me anymore. As you can see, I'm a pretty big girl, so I'm a lot to handle! My owner loved me & wanted the best for me, so they brought me here to hopefully find a new home. I'll be honest & say that I'm not exactly the easiest dog to find a home for. I don't like other animals at all, never have. Other dogs bug me, & I'll sooner eat a cat for breakfast before I live with one! I'm also not a fan of little kids. Like, anything under at least 6 or 7. It's not that I hate them or anything, but I just don't like wild little kids who run around & jump & scream & all that. So, I need a particular type of home. I didn't always have the most stable life growing up, so I've got some issues. If you're willing to look past that, though, let me tell you about all the awesome stuff about me! First of all, I don't have a problem with adults at all! I love to spend time with anyone who's at least a teenager or older. I may be a little chunky, but that just makes me better at being a cuddlin' machine! I'm always ready to play, & I've always got a smile on my face! I know us pitties have a bad reputation, but I've even had people say I changed their whole perspective on pit bulls for the better, I'm THAT special! All I need is someone who's willing to give a chance to a girl who's had some bad luck & had a hard time finding a forever home. I've been spayed, but I'll still need to get an updated rabies shot before I can leave. If you're looking for a chubby lover-girl & don't mind just a bit of a challenge, I'm the dog for you!
