Story
Oh Henry came to us last year as a small puppy. He has been diagnosed with a genetic issue called Cerebellar Hypoplasia, where the Cerebellum part of his brain did not develop properly, and it controls motor skills. Henry is tipsy on his feet, his head bobs a bit, and when excited he looks like he's doing his own dance. He doesn't think there's anything wrong, but sometimes other dogs don't understand his strange movements. He will need a home that can help keep him safe by not having stairs for him to fall down and having a fenced yard as he's a bit of a challenge to walk on a leash even though it is do-able. Because of his condition, he does sometimes have accidents in the house when he gets all sprawled out uncontrollably. But he's the sweetest boy you'll ever meet! He recently has recovered from nutritional DCM, caused by our choice of feeding a grain free food. We changed his food and he's had three Echocardiograms and has just been deemed as this being successfully reversed - his heart is once again healthy! This issue is killing many dogs, so we consider ourselves very fortunate to have caught this early and followed the advice to change the food we have been feeding our fosters and our own dogs. Won't you consider giving this special needs boy a place in your heart and your family? Please complete our application found on our website, www.bongosbuddiesrescue.com and let's talk so we can schedule a visit with Oh Henry for you soon!

Story
Akela is three years old, adopted from a shelter. Very sweet and loving. This dog needs room to run! She is very smart can slip any collar and chain and climb or jump a fence. She is afraid of all loud noises, thunderstorms, fireworks, and our neighbors motorcycle but she has a vest that helps her feel calm. If she doesn't have lots of time outside to run freely, she will start acting up in the house, going potty on the floor even with lots of trips outside and getting into the trash even with lots of food in her dish. We have a nice sized yard but it's not enough, she needs to RUN. We have three kids from 16 to 8 plus all their friends that come over. She has never hurt anyone. We also have two cats she gets along with no problem. When another dog is around she starts to get territorial, especially with her food. She will stand over it to guard it. Akela is a German Sheppard mix that doesn't realize how big she is and try to climb into your lap for love and pets!

Story
Meet Stewart, a 7 y/o West Highland Terrier. Stewart is a former commercial breeder dog. This pic of him is shortly after arriving after his initial bath. As you can see, he's stained and not so pretty white as he should be from years of not having regular bathes. He's a happy boy and seems to be a bit older than what we were told, but we love the prance he does when he first hits the grass in the yard! He enjoys attention and is learning house training with the aide of a belly band. He sleeps quietly in his exercise pen at night. He gets along with the other dogs here of all sizes as long as they don't invade his personal space. He'd love a quiet home where he can chill and enjoy retirement! Please apply at www.bongosbuddiesrescue.com

Story
Meet Brian! Brian came to us from way up north where he was a breeder dog. He's happy to be retired and living in a home where he's got his own soft bedding and plenty of food and water! Brian gets along with dogs of all sizes here. He's had all his vetting completed. He's working on his house training as he's never had to worry about where he does his business before. He's full of energy - you'd never know his age. Are you looking for a little cutie to call your own and help him with the rest of his training to be a good family member? Apply at www.bongosbuddiesrescue.com - please also look at our requirements for adoption.
