Story
If you are looking for an energetic, loving, loyal dog with a goofball personality. This is the boy for you! Jake is 5 years young, up to date with vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative and dewormed. He is crate and house trained. Jake LOVES people. He is evergetic and MUST have a safe place to run his energy off. A small townhouse yard will not do, he needs a nice yard to book it and play. He gets up in the morning and can't wait to go outside and explore. He loves walks, hikes, and car rides. He will make an excellent family pet. If you love an adventurous life, Jake is perfect for that. He just wants to be loved. Sadly, Jake spent most of his life tethered outside. His owner was gravely ill and could not give Jake the time he needed. Jake was by his side when his owner passed away. He was rescued a few days later and has been in our care ever since. Now that he is in a foster home with a huge fenced-in area he runs like the wind and is loving every minute of life he was denied up to his rescue. Jake is being fostered by a professional dog trainer. He gets along with all dogs and people he has met to date. He would be good with a medium or larger sized dog. Small dogs might get run over by him we recommend at least 30 pounds or higher to safely play with Jake. Kids should be sturdy on their feet. He falls in love with people easily. He chases birds and squirrels so were going to say no to cats to be safe. He does bark when you come in to greet him. But settles as soon as you come over to greet him. he is so excited to have visitors :) We can not express enough how loving this boy is and how stunned we are that he is still with us. All Jake wants for Christmas is a family to love him. Are you that family? email animalovefoundation@yahoo.com with your house and family bio today!!

Story
For information regarding adoption fees, adoption process, or to submit an adoption application, please visit: www.arfontario.com. Patches, 8 year old 'bashful buddy' mix! Pssst! My name’s Patches and I am on the hunt for a verrry special someone that I can take my time getting to know and then love for eternity. You see when I fall for a human, I fall hard. It might take me an adjustment period to get properly acquainted and comfortable, but then oh boy! I can be the marshmallow to your hot chocolate. I have been living in foster care with my kind & patient foster Dad and 2 resident dogs. We live in harmony, but it is because these canine friends are very well trained to be tolerant of guys like me that are picky with choosing friends. So adopters looking specifically for a pal to keep their resident dog happy should likely take a pass on me. I prefer laying on a lap versus playing with my canine friends, but can joyfully engage with a dog my size when familiar with them, as that size seems less scary to me. I am a great sleeper and really like to nap in my comfy crate through the night or whenever my human goes out during the day, but am trustworthy to have free run of the house too. I like going for leash walks, and I get super happy when I go for a car ride. I’m not like other little dogs though that are used to being picked up lots, and in fact prefer to have my space and get lifted only when I trust you or when I can jump into your arms myself. That’s why I need my own fenced yard to play in so that easy access in and out doesn’t involve always being scooped up. I’ve learned to go to the door when I need to go out and do my business, and I actually dance a little jig when my foster dad comes outside too. I spin in little circles when he puts his shoes on and will chatter up a storm to express my glee. I grin a lot when he comes home and I make the cutest squeaks! Since I’m a bit nervous when first meeting new folks, adults only would be best around me so that I can take my time to get to know their intentions. Once I feel safe, I love to get tons of pets and ear scratches, but I’m not going to be the dog that you can ever squeeze or give kisses to as I definitely don’t like to have any human put their face next to mine! I have to admit that I do prefer ladies, as unfamiliar men can make me nervous and a bit grumpy until I figure out that they mean me no harm. A single-person-home would probably be my preference. When I fall in love with my human, I can sometimes guard them from strangers that I do not know, particularly men. My adopter must support the use of only positive-based training techniques. The good people at ARF will be fully transparent with details of my past experiences when considering serious potential adopters. I am definitely a quirky guy, with a past that has unfortunately made me nervous and reactive to several situations that trigger discomfort, but I am hoping that a kind and patient soul will see the potential in me to be a loving and cuddly companion in a quiet household. I really am a sweet boy! I’ve been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and received flea & heart worm preventative. Are you a tender-heart who is willing to give a chance to a very special best friend of the canine kind? Why not visit www.arfontario.com and submit an adoption application for me!

Story
For information regarding adoption fees, adoption process, or to submit an adoption application, please visit: www.arfontario.com.   Winter, 3 year old 'loyal lady' mix!   Currently seeking a “spirit family” for this lovely and lively good-looker! Meet Winter, a playful and adventurous 3 year- old that is ready to find the happiness in life that she so deserves. She came into ARF’s care along with her babies, so after being a good Momma to them she is finally ready to experience play, adventure, and unconditional love. Winter has been working hard on her house training and making progress each day. Simple things like living inside a cozy home, going for leashed walks, and curling up to new friends, are relatively new to this beauty. Building positive associations for Winter’s first-time experiences is the key to her continued learning, so we are searching for an adopter who will embrace this training method. Winter requires lots and lots of exercise, preferably off-leash in a fenced safe environment. She is thriving in foster care with a family that has children, however when meeting other doggie friends Winter can be selective. Winter is very loyal to her humans, and enjoys quiet snuggle time after a day of play. In the words of her foster mom, “Winter is a wonderful dog and with the right match she will have the world at her paws”. Winter has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has received parasite prevention. Are you searching for a canine companion to keep you both active, engaged, and awesome? Please consider filling out an application to meet Winter. Just visit www.arfontario.com to complete an application form.

Story
For information regarding adoption fees, adoption process, or to submit an adoption application, please visit: www.arfontario.com. Essie, 3 year old 'eager beaver' mix. If we could speak dog, surely we would hear foster pup Essie exclaim; “Hey hooman, why did you stop scritching me?!!” This bold and beautiful girl is currently entertaining her 2 foster parents with sass, sillies, and snoozes. Her A+ report card goes like this: Essie’s house-training is all stitched up and she happily rests with a treat in her crate when her people go to work or out for short periods. She is a ‘work-in-progress’ with leash walking as she’s very new to this concept, but with yummy treats and positive reinforcement training this quick learner will blossom. Essie has met another dog and will continue to be exposed to other friendly canines during her foster stay. In order to set Essie up for success, she would be best suited as the only pet in her adoptive home at this time. Give Essie a tug toy or something with a squeaker and she is one happy camper. The only thing that she desires more is to receive your love, pets, and affection. Miss Essie is down for nearly everything you might suggest. You have a two-hour care ride to go on? She will love to come too. You need a nap? She’ll sleep right alongside you. Want to go on a hike? Count her in. Her preference would be to have a home with a fenced yard to keep her safe and active, but apartment-dwelling adopters who are 100% dedicated to taking her on multiple walks a day would also be fitting. Essie has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped, however has tested positive for heart worm. No worries with that though, as ARF will pay for her treatments so that her forever home can welcome her now as a ‘foster-to-adopt’ and finalize the adoption when she is cleared by our vet. This most loving pup deserves the comfort and security of her own family so that she can continue to be the marvelous muppet that she is! Are you looking for a pal to put a smile on your face each day? Please visit www.arfontario.com to apply to meet Essie. She will love you to the moon and back!

Story
Well hello there! I’m Britta and I’m 10.5 years old.  I am ½ of an amazing pair of Brittanys and we are looking for our forever home…. TOGETHER.  My sister Becca and I used to live outside all the time but since we’ve lived in foster care we’ve learned to love to be inside and hang with our people.  We like all people...me especially and I will stick by your side, follow you around the house, sit beside you on the couch and snuggle with you in bed. I like to be taken for walks, but I get excited and pull on the leash.  Walks are exciting…what can I say?  I also like toys…stuffies are the best.  I like to unstuff them.  I have a high prey drive so I shouldn’t live with a cat. My sister Becca and I would love a home where it’s just us and our humans.  More love for us.   We are very active for our age and love to run outside.  Don't be fooled by the white in our face...we are young at heart! I used to have nasty heart worms in me, but NBRAN got me all fixed up and they are gone.  I am spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations and overall very healthy.  So if you are looking for aperfect pair of Brittanys to join your family….we are your girls.  We will only go to our new home together…. together forever!  Our adoption fee, as we are seniors, is $200 US each but if you are a senior too it’s $100 US each.  We are located near London, Ontario, Canada but NBRAN can transport us up to 2200 kms or 1400 miles.  If you are interested, please submit an application and our people will get in touch with you.  http://www.nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application For more information about Britta (and Becca) please contact sandratoal18@gmail.com We will NOT consider splitting up this pair. They have been together their entire lives.

Story
Hi there!  It's me...Becca!  I am ½ of an amazing pair of Brittanys and we are looking for our forever home…. TOGETHER.  My sister Britta and I used to live outside all the time but now we know what it’s like to sleep inside and we like it! I like to sleep in the room with my people but prefer a dog bed on the floor beside you.  I like people, but I like my own space too.  (you can cuddle with my sister though!)  I like to be outside and watch the birds and the critters.  We have a doggie door and a huge fenced yard so I can come and go so a fenced yard for me is a must.  I love to eat.  I was very sick when I had heart worms and was skinny…but I’m better now and I’m making up for lost time.  I love to take your socks and to steal things off the counter when foster mom isn’t looking.  I also pull on a leash when I walk.  Hey…no one is perfect right?  Like my sister Britta I'm pretty zippy for my age so I like walks and running outside to burn some steam. I like my foster family, but I can be nervous around new people that come to the house.  I just bark at them a bit…that’s all.  Foster mom says I'm "discriminating".  I am spayed, up to date on all my vaccinations and overall very healthy.  So if you are looking for a great couple of Brittanys to join your family….we are your girls.  We will only go to our new home together…. together forever!  Our adoption fee, as we are seniors, is $200 US each or if you are a senior too it’s $100 US each.  We are located near London, Ontario, Canada but NBRAN can transport us up to 2200 kms or 1400 miles.  If you are interested, please submit an application and our people will get in touch with you.  http://www.nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application For more information about Becca (and Britta) please contact sandratoal18@gmail.com We will NOT consider splitting up this pair.
