Story
Tyco is a five-year-old Pit Bull Terrier who has had a hard life, but in spite of it, he has a heart of gold. He is looking for his forever home with or without another dog, and with someone who will love him, despite his being blind in his left eye. His foster mom keeps telling him that "no one is perfect!" Tyco lived most of his life in a very unkept outdoor kennel. He was not able to get walked daily or given any attention. Just food and water. He is such a sweet and grateful boy. He loves attention and play time. Tyco needs a fenced yard, and preferably no children under 10 years of age, as he has a lot of energy. He weighs 55-60 pounds and is full grown. If you would like more information about this sweet boy, please call 931-424-0763. (ms)

Story
The best word to describe Fitz is BOISTEROUS! He is active, exuberant , playful and definitely not for a couch potato. He loves to play ball and will retrieve as long as you will throw. He needs a home with lots of room for him to stretch his long legs. Fitz was found on a deserted country road in southern Tennessee along with his sister and 2 other tiny puppies. All were thin and in terrible shape. Time and TLC have helped him grow into the hefty 65 lb. boy he is today. Fitz is about 2 1/2 years old now, but he is still very much a large puppy. He currently lives outside in a kennel, but he has stayed inside in a crate several times during this cold winter and done very well. He stayed in it quietly all night and did not have any accidents. Fitz enjoys walking on a leash. He is of course very excited at first, but settles down pretty quickly and walks very nicely after a few minutes. Fitz is a people pleaser, and very food driven. He would be very trainable with a dedicated owner. Only adults live in Fitz's foster home, so not sure how he would do with children. I think he would love older kids, but he is too young and active for toddlers. Fitz would do best as an only pet in a home with a fenced yard. He gets really excited playing with other dogs and sometimes over powers them. Fitz thinks cats and chickens are for chasing, so a home without these pets would be best as well. Fitz loves attention and will thrive in a home that loves him and gives him plenty of room to run.

Meet Gabe- He was dropped off at a high kill shelter in a small Tennessee town. He is a year old and around 50lbs. Gabe has the prettiest eyes you have ever seen. He is one handsome boy that loves to be around people. He plays great with other dogs and listens really well. Gabe will need a fenced in yard so he can have room to work off that puppy energy. He walks well on a leash and does well in a crate for short periods. If you would like to meet this sweet boy please email us at Southerngirlspoundrescue1@gmail.com

Story
Hello! I bet you're wondering how I got my name? When I was a stray I would jump over a 4-foot fence to play with a female Pit Bull, so people started calling me her boyfriend. I'm friendly with all ages, but due to my size and strength I would do best in a home with children at least 8 years old. As you can tell by my photos my favorite thing is to play with a ball, especially if someone throws it for me! I've been living outside, but would love to be an inside pet where I can be a constant, loving companion. Did you know that dogs who have lived outdoors are easily house trained, because we know that is where we do our business? If you would like to meet me in person please contact Giles County Humane by calling or sending them an email. I would love to be in a home to call my own by Christmas! (rcw)
