Vinny is a 18ish month old golden mixed puppy. We do not know his parents or what he may be mixed with or if he has any golden or labradoodle at all - we just guess based on looks. As such, he is NOT hypoallergenic, nor nonshedding - he is a mutt, and a very sweet one at that! He is around 60lbs right now. He is great with other dogs and loves to play. He is very active and playful. He will not be introduced to cats. He is fostered in Houston TX no matter what it says anywhere else - any inquiries about location will be ignored. You cannot meet prior to adopting since he will not be transported until adopted. His fee is $850 - email your completed application to houstonstreetdogs@gmail.com for consideration. Tanner is a drop dead gorgeous boy around 1 yr and 40lbs. We have no idea of his parents and are just guessing on breed. He is a solid, lowrider with amazing eyes. He is not hypoallergenic nor is he nonshedding. He is almost housetrained but adopters should be patient as he learns a new home and routine. He gets along well with people and dogs but he will not be exposed to cats. He is adorable and fun and a very sweet cuddler. His fee is $850. He is fully vetted. He is fostered in Houston TX no matter what it says anywhere else on this ad (please do not ask where he is located - the answer is Houston TX) and won't be transported until adopted so you cannot meet prior to adoption. Story
Betty is a sweet, well behaved, outgoing, black and white Lab mix who was very lucky to make it out of animal control alive. Being a big black dog the odds were stacked against her and she was scheduled to be euthanized when we learned of her fate and were able to help. Luckily, Betty found a foster that is partial to big black dogs and was saved. Betty is estimated to be about 4 -5 years old and weighs 55lbs. She absolutely loves to spend time with humans, especially when she can get lots of belly rubs. We envision the best situation for Betty to be with a singe person or in an adult household allowing Betty to receive all the attention and love she deserves. The ideal forever home for Betty is one in which she will not be left alone for long hours, get plenty of attention, and not have to share it with other dogs or cats. She can be anxious when thunderstorms are looming, and sometimes becomes worried and stressed when there are too many people and too much activity in the home. Betty would also love a fenced yard so that she can spend time outside, safely enjoying sunbathing and checking out nature. Betty is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and year-round heartworm prevention, microchipped, and housebroken. Story
Magic is a very lucky boy to have escaped death at Animal Control. He joined BAARK’s Rescue & Adoption Program last year, another senior black dog dumped at Chicago Animal Control by an owner who no longer wanted him. So sad that Magic has been with us for so long…another big black dog! Magic is a very handsome boy, 8-9 years old, about 65 lbs. We are not certain of his breed but he appears to perhaps be a Lab – Shepherd Mix…with those big pointy ears! He’s friendly but cautious, very well-mannered, an overall low-maintenance kind of guy. While Magic can co-exist with other dogs, he definitely prefers calm, senior dogs like himself. Magic is said to have previously lived with cats….he may be OK with a senior cat who will not startle him with quick movements. In addition to napping and sleeping, Magic loves long walks and car rides…he walks nicely on a leash but at a quick pace and he’s a GREAT passenger!! Magic would be very stressed by dog parks, doggy day care, or over-active children. In spite of his neglectful past, Magic is a well-balanced, personable boy who most definitely deserves a wonderful home of his own. He’s just looking for a quiet peaceful place to spend his twilight years, and have a family of his own to care for him and share his life. An adult home is preferred. No children under the age of 12 years. Like all of BAARK’s dogs, Magic is fully vetted, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and on year-round heartworm preventative, and microchipped. Story
Say hello to Toby, he just turned 3 years old. We adopted him at 6 months old, he was left abandoned and living in the wild with other dogs. It took him a long time to trust humans and to even realize how to play with his toys. Toby needs a disciplined home, he needs to be shown that he's not the boss. He's not good with strangers, birds and squirrels. Takes him a long time to warm up to new people. He definitely needs someone experienced with a 75lbs dog. We love this boy dearly, but because of his behavioral issues, we were advised to re-home him before we have our first child. We are willing to take our time to find him a new home.
