Story
.Meet Paris JuM
Name:
My name is Paris. I always have a smile on my face, but it is sorta commuttserate with the smile you give your co-workers when you pass them in the hallway on your way to a meeting that no one wants to go to while internally yelling “remember to use your customer service voice, you have bills to pay”.
Speed on her Odometer:
Somewhere between snail and sloth. I will reluctantly walk on leash at a slow pace, but off leash I am a little faster and will follow my human around.
Color:
I am the color of the nubuck suede laced loafers that you wore in 1992. It’s an asthetically pleasing color, not too browny, not too yellowey, just soft and velvety. I think in handbag lingo, the technical name for this color is mushroom.
Age/Weight/Breed:
The shelter labeled me as a Lab mix. I have a silver looking mask on my muzzle, but that is not from being elderly, because take note, I also have silver blaze on my chest and paws. I am around 8 years old and 55 pounds and quite fetching with a gentle smile and soft features.
Theme Song:
Crooked Smile by J. Cole. No need to fix what God already put his paint brush on, that is a lyric that everyone should take to heart.
The 411:
Here is the scoop on me. I was at the City of San Antonio pound place with a slight case of hair loss and a large case of the scaries. It ended up being non-contagious demodex mange. A Rescue Lady showed up and said “I will take her”. I was like, okay, first of all, girl, I don’t know you from Adam and I am not gonna just hop in your car. Its 2019, girls should know better than getting into a car with a stranger. I don’t have the uber app and I sure as heck didn’t call you.*cut to a couple of hours later and several packages of hot dogs* Okay, I guess I will go with you Rescue Lady, but someone is gonna carry me, cuz I am not walking with a string around my neck. Once in the car, I stretched out for a much needed nap.
Temperament:
I am calm as far as energy level, but if I was a human, my habit would be nail biting, foot tapping and hair twirling like a Nervous Nellie, because I still get scared feelings with new situations. I do like to shadow my person and accept treats and rubs. I am 100 times better than when I was at the shelter, but still not ready to be the life of the party or the guacamole on your nachos.
Ideal Home:
A non-rowdy setting with a human that will tell me “Paris, you are a good girl” in a very convincing tone, a nice tone, perhaps remuttniscent of that radio show host Delilah’s voice, cuing up the next slow jam. While feeding me a hotdog piece and tell me I am pretty while they caress my head.
Final Ask:
I am grateful for the nutricious food that made my soft fur grow back. It’s obvious that my first 8 years were not something to brag about. But the Rescue Lady assured me that every shelter dog finds the perfect human that will adopt an imperfect dog, because sometimes being not-perfect is just exactly perfect for someone.
GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm tested and are current with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $400 for dogs over a year old, which also includes the cost of transportation to the assigned location. Medical records accompany each dog at the time of delivery and may be emailed to adopter prior to dog arrival if desired.
Microchips will be automatically registered to the new owner after payment of adoption fee. The registration site we use is Michelson Found Animals which is free to use and update during the lifetime of your pet. Please allow 24-48 hours for the new information to appear on the website. God's Dogs Rescue will remain as a permanent back up registration for safety sake.
Please visit our website http://godsdogsrescue.org/ for helpful information re: transport, our adoption process and application, volunteering and fostering, and photos of our dogs/pups looking for homes!!
Thank you for wanting to adopt a rescued dog, their LIVES depend on it!
