Story
Hi, my name is Ghost and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Nov 17, 2023. I like to think I’m a pretty independent pup, but having a person to share life with is really all I want. I may sometimes think my idea or direction is the better one, and I may sometimes be right, but what’s important is that we get to figure it out together!

Story
We are in need of re-homing our dog, Maximus. Maximus was adopted as a puppy and has always been very happy, loving, and high energy, malamute mix. He is fully vetted. Unfortunately after 6 years we need to re-home max. He was attacked by a dog four years ago and has started developing behavioral changes. He currently deals with anxiety towards dogs, (other than the one he lives with), cats, small children, some adults, with spontaneous toy and food aggression. He has a bite history due to lack of trust, proper guidance, and training. He’s had two incidents, neither requiring stitches, or anything more than simple first aide. We have taken Max to three professional classes, and saw improvement, with another dog being able to walk with him with no aggression. We also have a boarding facility, where we leave him with on holidays, and they have never had any issues with him. He does great in their care. We are hoping to find a good foster or permanent home to help Maximus.

Story
Meet Mia (pronounced my-ah), a beautiful Malamute just under a year old. She needs someone who has experience with her breed. She was born April 18, 2019. She is dog friendly, used to live with smaller dogs, and at her current foster has big dogs to play with. She doesn't know that she is a big 70 pound dog and can play with other dogs a little rough. But she loves playing with them! She is child friendly, she was living with a small child and had no issues . She is very treat oriented, which helps in teaching her basic manners. She is potty trained, and knows how to use a doggie door. She is leash trained, but does pull a little, which her current foster dad is working on with her on. She is not spayed yet she has had first and second rounds of vaccinations but we don't have paperwork on it. She is very lovable and enjoys her people! She also is a girl who likes to be heard, the typical Malamute vocal trait! So if you have experience with this breed and think Mia would be a great fit for your family, we would love for you to complete an online application at our website, www.secondchancedogs.net. The adoption donation is $350.00, of which a portion is tax deductible. All donations are funneled back into the rescue for care of the animals we take in.

PLEASE SPONSOR ME!It will turn my life upside down!Read about Sponsorship here.* SECURELY FENCED YARD REQUIRED * NO SMALL DOGS * NO CATS *If you are interested in Hannah please fill out an online application and we will schedule your home visit ASAP.Meet Hannah our picture perfect Diva! She is a strong-willed Alaskan Malamute mix with one of the cutest fuzzy faces around. Being a true example to the breed Hannah likes to test her limits occasionally. As such she will require an adopter who has a good understand of pack rules and a loving yet firm hand during training. Hannah loves a long hike as much as a Netflix and chill night on the couch. Her favorite snack is cheese curds. So if you have access to Beechers Handmade Cheese she would like to meet you immediately.Hannah loves being with her humans and so if she is left for long periods of time may try to escape to find the company of another person to spoil her. Hannah needs an escape proof home environment (Fort Knox like since she is a master at creative escapes). She is a bit cool towards other dogs and would prefer to be your one and only in true Diva fashion. Cats and young children are probably not a good mix for this girl. .The adoption fee of $400 includes spay-neuter and all vaccines. Hannah is being lovingly cared for in Washington while she awaits her new forever home.More pictures of Hannah Click here to submit an adoption application for me! Visit our website at http://www.wamal.com/ Alaskan Malamutes are warm and friendly, playful, gentle, intelligent and silly. Their exquisite beauty is the result of centuries of adaptation to the harsh Arctic climate where they lived as close companions to the Mahlemut Eskimos, pulling heavy sledges over terrible terrain in harsh weather. Malamutes shed twice a year and should be brushed regularly. Since they are so large, they should never be left alone with small children unsupervised, though this is true of any dog.Malamutes participate in many sports such as backpacking, weight-pulling, carting, sojourning and competition obedience. Their best-known feature is their extraordinary sweetness of temperament.Record last updated: Sat Apr 4 11:28:05 2020W32-0717-AF4Color: Grey/WhiteW32-0717-AF4
