Introducing Squirrley I have to admit, it isn’t easy being named after most dog’s arf nemesis. It’s like naming a cat Mousey. Or naming a sheep, Wolfy. Or nick naming a Vampire, Sunshine. The only thing worse might have been to name me *gasp* Mailman, Amazon Delivery Dude or UPS Lady. All sworn enemies of the canines by oath of law. Truffly though, I really don’t mind the name. I am just happy to not be living on my own and actually have an identity. I was rescued by a Street Dog Rescuer after being dumped on the side of the road wrapped in a shower curtain and old bedspread. I was skin and bones. That was a sad day for me to be treated like garbage. There is a light at the tunnel. My saddest day opened the door to what will be my best day. The DAY YOU ADOPT ME!! I am a female 5 year old Boxer mix weighing in about 30 pounds. The best way to remember that I am a female is to remember that squirrelly rhymes with girly. It also rhymes with Shirley, but surely you knew that. You are a smart human right? I am an intelligent girl too. I am being a good girl around all the other dogs at the rescue camp. I don’t beg or seek attention, but when the Rescue Lady talks to me, I stop to listen. She stops to watch my ears wiggle to catch her voice. I have the best ears on campus. I love that the humans talk to me. It is just so refreshing to have someone pay attention to little ole me. I come when called because not only does this Rescue Lady pay me with attention, she has been known to also pay me in a dog desired currency, weenies. So do you want to be the lucky person that provides me with my BEST DAY EVER???? If so, please fill out an application.

Meet Bradley JuM Need a shoulder to cry on? White dogs tend to get adopted quicker than brindle fellas, but brindle dogs are much better for wiping snot and mascara on. Say you are watching a Bradley Cooper movie, A Star is Born, try blowing your nose and wiping that on a white dog, what a mess. Me, blends right in. Camuttflauge for any type of dirt, secretion, or just a good place to wipe the Cheeto dust off your finger tips. *cronch cronch, oh, you were planning to share the Cheetos, right????* I might won’t pass the white glove test, but I will pass the Good Boy Test. I am happy with everyone. I love all other dogs. I do have the hunky 50 pound athletic frame of a Boxer, but I am not SHALLOW, my personality is poochy keen. I am so vibrant for a 4 year old, Foster Mom keeps asking me, “did you find the fountain of youth”, nope, but if you show me to a tree, I can show you a fountain. *he he he, I crack me up* I was rescued from the local muttnicipal shelter on the dreaded last day, so there was a silver lining in my playbook. I am getting up to speed on both potty and crate training and leash walking. Whether it is to a crash a wedding, support you during a hangover, or just be a general Kleenex during the latest rom com or romedy or dramady or any other movie colab, I am ready to hustle!

Story
Hannah loves to spend her time playing and running around with her foster siblings. She's got lots of energy but her favorite activity would have to be snuggling. Hannah's appetite is wonderful. She absolutely loves to learn new things. There has not been a furry friend that she does not like. She is potty trained and crate trained. She loves to snuggle and play. She is super active, eats great, and is completely potty trained! Hannah is estimated to be nearly 2 year old and 47 lbs. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed and size when grown. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative. Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.

Story
Welcome Banjo. Available through CCPAL He is 3.5-year-old Boxer/Lab or Dalmatian mix. He was a house dog and so we notice he holds it in his kennel to go in the yard. He is good with other dogs and about 55 pounds. We are working on his leash manners and he is coming along nicely. The owners that turned him in did say he was house trained. He is good in a car and will make some family a good companion. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or transported to the East Coast, Oregon, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois or Vermont. He loves other dogs and has lived in a home with another dog so he probably would prefer a home with another dog. He has the most adorable markings on his face. Looks like he had a rough night and was tired when putting on his makeup. He missed his eyelid on one eye and slipped with the eyeliner on the other eye. He and his brother can be adopted separately. He is up on his shots, neutered, healthy and ready for his forever home. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. Story
Welcome Guilley to CCPAL. He is a 1.5-year-old Boxer/Terrier mix. He has the most adorable wonky ears. He is very active and will be great for a runner, hiker or outdoorsy enthusiast. He is best in a harness and pulls some when another dog is there to play with. He probably wasn’t raised with another dog. A dog who has been around other dogs can read the ques that you are irritating them. He misses some of the ques so he can be too energetic for the more laid-back dogs. Troy has done an amazing job with him and he can now play off lead with 5 other alphas in the rescue off leash. That being said, he would be a great family pet with older kiddos due to his energy and someone who is athletic. He would be an AMAZING running partner and since he was raised as an only dog, we would like to keep him as an only dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with a transporter to deliver him to the East Coast, Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Wisconsin or Vermont. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 185. For some active family this boy will be a great fit. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to maudreyh@aol.com for an application. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!   Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <underdogrescue@petml.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Due to concern around COVID-19, Underdog Rescue is suspending all public adoption events and community events. We are still accepting applications for available dogs but are delaying in-person meet and greets due to the ‘stay at home’ policy. Thank you for your support.  DOB: 6/10/11 Requires another dog in home: No Okay with dogs of all sizes: No, only dogs over 25lbs Okay with cats: No Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Requires a fenced yard: No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area Hello, my name is Rita and I am a healthy adult female Boxer whose foster mom says is a “happy, typical boxer.” I love my human but am not fond of those meowy things or small dogs. I am food motivated…especially cookies and I love to bark at my foster mom’s adult son…don’t ask me why…I just do! I don’t know if it’s a fear thing or if I like him so much I just want to chat…who knows!  I don’t know if I would react the same way with little people because I’ve not met any of them.  I will admit though that those meowy things should steer clear of me because I can run like the wind blows and I will chase them down…after all, I am a boxer and I have a high prey drive and those meowy things are just too hard to resist. I am a fairly quiet girl except for my adult foster brother and when I am telling someone I would like to go outside.  I am crate trained.  I do very well with those leash things since I know it helps keep me safe!  That said, I really hope that my furever home has a fenced yard for me since that too will keep me safe and still allow me to run around, frolic and be free! If you have a lot of unconditional love to share with me and you enjoy cuddles and want a doggie that will come when called then you must come to meet me as soon as you can and take me to my new furever home. I promise I’ll be your best friend!!     Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:   Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Story
Meet Patsy JR Name: Patsy. Favorite Self Help Book: The Art of Emuttional Muttnipulation: How to get your new owner to do your bidding by using the power of your cuteness. Age/Weight/Breed: I am a female, 2 year old, 45 pound playful Pitbull mix. Likes: I adore playing with the older kids that live at my Foster House and playing with fuzzy tennis balls and the rest of my toys. I also like treats! Something to Brag About: I walk really good on a leash. Not every dog can claim that! Plus I am house and crate trained. Dislikes: I do get intimuttdated by bigger dogs. So Foster Mom says I would need to do a meet and greet with any dog that I might have to live with. I lived here with a medium girl dog, but she got adopted and now I don’t have friends to play with. Final Ask: My main adoration is for humans. So if you are a human that would like a lone wolf but less hairy choose me. Maybe you want to be a one dog home and not collect dogs like potato chips, I would be a great choice! But if you do have a dog and don’t mind having the patience to let me give them a good sniffaround first, that would work too! GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, micro-chipped, heartworm tested and are current with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $400 for dogs over a year old, which also includes the cost of transportation to the assigned location. Medical records accompany each dog at the time of delivery and may be emailed to adopter prior to dog arrival if desired. Microchips will be automatically registered to the new owner after payment of adoption fee. The registration site we use is Michelson Found Animals which is free to use and update during the lifetime of your pet. Please allow 24-48 hours for the new information to appear on the website. God's Dogs will remain as the permanent back up registration for safety sake. Please visit our website http://godsdogsrescue.org/ for helpful information re: transport, our adoption process and application, volunteering and fostering, and photos of our dogs/pups looking for homes!! Story
Meet Adam TatG (made an amazing comeback from scrawny to svelte, but doesn’t make a great first impression due to awkward initial shyness, he’s like the Kristen Stewart of dogs) Voted Most Likely Too: I clearly win Most Photogenic doggie at all the adoption events, but I sure wish the prize was a family and not just constant applause. Likes: Dog parks, car rides, going on sniffathons, relaxing in bed, cuddles, being your shadow, other dogs, people, supervising your bathroom visits…stealing your food from the table when you turn around (pretend you did not read that last part). A goooood back scritchin and full body massage, but who doesn’t? Age/Weight/Breed: I am a SILLY Billy, but my name is Adam and I am a Dogo Argentino/Pitbull mix. I only weighed 40 pounds when I was picked up from the City of San Antonio shelter, but now I am back up to a hunky chunky 85 pounds. I am somewhere between 4-5 years old. Best Skill: Doing zoomie spinny circles, it is a complicated move, but I am very goodest at it, the best really. Life Tip: When you can’t find a pillow, use another dog’s butt, dog butts are very soft and make great pillows. Favorite Cliché: You know that ole cliché, you cannot judge a book by its cover. I totally agree. To truly judge a book, you need to nibble it, chew on a few pages. When I first got outta the shelter, I was very hungry and chewing on everything, but I have stopped that nonsense, as long as you give me TOYS! Activity Level: I would thrive in a home with a yard for play time, but also a huge couch for my cat naps…er uh, dog naps in my case. I am strong on a leash, but Foster Mom says I am NOT “the worst” she has experienced. Socialability: I am in a Foster Home with other dogs, but did do slow intros. I do great at public places like dog parks, but I become more protective when at home. I am shy at first with people, but if you exchange treats for my love, I will take that trade and then you get to see my goofy ball side. I have been a good boy around kids. So far the only command I know is SIT. I hope you know the command for rubs, because when I roll over to show my belly that means rub it. Big Ask: I am very happy to have my second chance at a home after being dumped and 40 pounds at the city shelter. I want to be a good big boy for you and I will be very loyal and loving. Will you adopt me?

Story
Meet Momma Goldie MMc So y’all heard of a sock hop right, a dance, with pupular music and good times with teenagers and no funny bidness just hand holding and 2 feet of space between dance partners on the slow songs. Whelp, I made a little sock hop of my own, but it was really more of a hop over a fence but with no actual socks and there was some funny bidness going on, because I came back with 18 puppies baking my oven. Yes, you read that right, don’t adjust your spectacles, I gave birth to 18 beautiful gorgeous puppies. It takes a village y’all. I enlisted the help of my Foster Mom plus another dog, named Belle, to help nurse my puppies, because the good Lord did not equip me with enuff feeders for that many babies. All my little ones are weaned and slowly but surely leaving the nest. Now, finally I am spayed and my puppy making days are over, offurcially over. I am 4 years old and unlike my little puppies, I know grown folk stuff, so I am house broken and do know my common rules. But I come with a warning label because I will jump up with my 55 pound body to give you hugs and love bites. I am quite a handful of love. Second warning, I am a bed hog and I make like a big rock, you will not be able to push me off the spot I want, so just get used to sleeping on a small corner of the mattress. I would prefer to be the only dog. What can I say? I am bossy, lol, what woman isn’t? Have you ever heard the acronym HBIC? It stands for Head B*tch in Charge. That’s my title, so I don’t always do well around other big dogs, if they want to steal my title. I am good with dogs if I meet them the right way at first and ease into it. Cats are on my no thank you list. I do love kids. I have a special love for humans and I am good at picking up on my Foster Mom when she is feeling sad or having emuttional swings, I know to comfort her. You don’t really need any other pets when you have me anyway, I give the loves equal to 20 dogs. I will always be there to greet you with a waggy tail and wiggling booty. I have 55 pounds of love to share, can I share it with you? GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area.
