Story
Hello - my name is Red. I was found on the side of the road after being either hit by, or thrown out of a car. Despite being a senior dog, I had no broken bones. A nice lady took me in and took me directly to the vet. The vet checked me out and said I was in very good health. He gave me all of my shots and tested me for everything. He ended up giving me antibiotics to take care of the infection of gravel still under my skin. It was keeping my hair from growing so I looked very bald. Since then, I have gotten so much healthier. My fur is almost a hundred percent grown back, and I am soft and very pettable. I currently live with two other rescue dogs. I am able to play with and go on walks with the younger dog, and I am sweet and caring to the older special-needs dog. I am however a little overzealous with cats, so I'm looking for a home that may have other dogs, but no cats. I am at the stage in my life where I enjoy one walk a day and a nice yard to sit in the sun. I am very chill and like to take naps and look out the window. So if you're a good family, looking to give a rejected senior dog another chance at life, then I'm the dog you're looking for. I can't wait to give you sweet little kisses. Love, - Your soon to be forever dog Red… If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Red is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.

Story
Whiskey’s DOB is July 22, 2015 - he’s a 4 year old pittie / boxer mix and is the sweetest thing on earth. He lives to sleep you with and snuggle all night long, he is very food motivated and with sit and stay for treats, we also gave him small training treats after using the bathroom outside everyday to get his routine down. Whiskey has never shown aggression towards people or destroyed anything in his foster’s house. He does like to chew on his bones and tough kong toys (no plush toys), and you always need to walk him with a harness!!  We were told he was a street dog for years before he came to the shelter and he has small scars on his face from his street life, but he’s still so sweet. He’s fully grown at 61 pounds and just wants love, pets, and attention. He’s up to date on everything and is very healthy. You’ll love this sweet boy! Story
We could write a novel about Freya but will try and leave it short and sweet. Freya is our honorary shelter mascot. She has been with us for 6 months due to issues with her leg. Freya will need an adopter who is committed to getting her the vet care for her hips that she will possibly need in the near future. Freya is on pain medication daily as well as weight management food. She knows how to make us all smile with her seal walk, her kisses, and zoomies around the shelter. Freya is about 6 years old, picky with her friends (meet and greet with other family dogs required), not a fan of female dogs, and is a good car buddy. Call us today to make an appointment to come meet Freya. The adoption fee for this pet is $75. This cost includes spay/neuter, microchip, and all vaccines.

Story
Maci is a very sweet chill dog who just wants some lovin. She’s very good at giving hugs. She loves to play and run around and she rarely ever barks. Needs a fenced backyard, can be tough to get back if off the leash. The BEST on car rides. Is house trained, but will go inside if left for extended hours. Older dog, but still acts like a playful puppy and is a quick learner. Maci is around 6 years old, and is fully vetted. We have not had her around kids so I would suggest older children.

Story
My name is Giselle. I came from a bad part of Dallas, where I was infested with fleas and had serious skin problems. I’d never even had a bath until my foster Mom rescued me. Now I love baths and have a beautiful coat. I am a sweet, high-energy Pit mix approximately 1-1/2 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccines, heart worm negative & on prevention. I’m a medium size boy at around 50 lbs. Despite having a rough start in life, I’m very affectionate and love playing with toys. I am a great listener and love my foster mama. Give me a chance to be your little girl and your best friend. You’ll be glad you did. If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Giselle is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM. .

Story
I'm a sweet athlete who works hard for my treats. I've got tons of get-up-and-go but I know when it's time to settle down and snuggle up. I love playing with pooch pals, as long as they aren't the kind who get all up in my face. I'm also good with kids but sometimes can get too excited so I would do best with some bigger kids that I can't accidentally knock over. I love any excuse to go outside and am potty trained. I know basic commands and am a dream on a leash. I thrive on attention from my humans, but I'm not a velcro dog and can leave you alone for five seconds ;) If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
