Story
We adopted Duke at 12 weeks old last year. We purchased him for our oldest daughter to have while she was doing home school. Duke plays very well with our other puppy and is really smart with his commands...sit, paw, lay-down and roll over. He loves to play and loves people! Great with our 3 kids and family. We are moving to a smaller home and he is a bit to big for the move. Duke would be a great treasure for any family!

Story
Dog from the first databaseUnfortunately, Dallas has returned to FHS so his forever home was not forever. He was picked up by the Sherman Animal Control running in a field. He was suffering from severe malnutrition. The owner was contacted but was unable to care for him anymore. Dallas is now healthy and happy. All he wants in life is to be with someone. He is so lovable and gets along well with everyone he meets. Dallas will make a great addition to a family, he loves to play fetch, play in the water, is great on a leash, and will gladly lay around all day! And although he is 11 years old (date of birth 4/30/2009), Dallas has the spirit of a puppy!     $165 Adoption Fee  For further information please email the address in the box to the right. Anyone interested in our dogs/cats will be required to fill out an adoption application. We do not adopt to anyone living out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Story
We could write a novel about Freya but will try and leave it short and sweet. Freya is our honorary shelter mascot. She has been with us for 6 months due to issues with her leg. Freya will need an adopter who is committed to getting her the vet care for her hips that she will possibly need in the near future. Freya is on pain medication daily as well as weight management food. She knows how to make us all smile with her seal walk, her kisses, and zoomies around the shelter. Freya is about 6 years old, picky with her friends (meet and greet with other family dogs required), not a fan of female dogs, and is a good car buddy. Call us today to make an appointment to come meet Freya. The adoption fee for this pet is $75. This cost includes spay/neuter, microchip, and all vaccines.

Story
Are you looking for a dog to run and snuggle with? Look no further! Scout is a 2.5 year old energetic lovebug. She is sweet with other dogs, and our children, but she is very excitable so she would be more suitable in a home with older kids. She is extremely high energy, and would do very well in a home with a regular runner and a dog sibling that can keep up with and tolerate her roughhousing. She will need more practice walking on a leash but is eager to learn! Scout is an escape artist and needs to be supervised while outside, as she can easily scale our 6 foot fence. I'm hopeful that an 8 foot fence could keep her in but it's definitely not a guarantee. We have unfortunately found ourselves in a spot financially where we can not give her what she needs, nor the home environment where she would thrive. Please consider giving this sweet girl the home she deserves!

Story
I'm a very handsome dog that's quiet most of the time. I want any chance to get out of my kennel. Once we're out, you'll see the funny, playful boy that I am! I just love to be around people, especially when they want to play fetch! I can't be kept kenneled at your house, it scares me and I just hate kennels! I can be dog selective while we're out. I'm pretty good in a harness, but need more training on a leash. I'm such a lovable guy & I will talk to you sometimes with my own cute language! Please come give me the chance to win you over!**DURING THE COVID-19 CRISIS WE ASK THAT YOU MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO VISIT THE SHELTER

Story
Kilo is an amazing 3 year old pit bull mix. He’s so sweet, any human that meets him gushes over how well behaved he is. He just isn’t good with other dogs. He did try to attack my girlfriends dog and gets violent only with other dogs. He deserves a great home with a yard where he is able to run free. But he does need to be an only dog. Sweetest guy you’ll meet.
