Story
Please note, we are a Texas based rescue that transports our pups once they are adopted. All of our dogs reside in foster homes, so much is known about their temperament, training level and personality. We know adopting a dog sight unseen can be daunting, so we are happy to share additional videos, photos and even let you Facetime with the pup. We are primarily an equine rescue, but do assist with a small number of dogs annually. We are happy to provide references from previous adopters if needed. Thank you for wanting to adopt! I was named after Arlo Guthrie, an American folk singer and songwriter. Like the original Arlo, I have a heart for all people and have never met a hooman that I didn't like! My nature is mellow, laid back and easy going. I am a certified"Good Dog" by an Animal Behaviorist....... trust me, folks, I can't make this stuff up!!! I am amiable and gentle with other dogs, kids, and cats. Foster mom describes me as "very low maintenance, low to medium energy". I try to live up to my "Good Dog" certification and not cause any trouble for Foster Mom...I just try to get along!! At 5 years young, I have passed the puppy and young dog stage of chewing stuff up or wanting to be the "Alpha" of ...anything!! My hairytage is a mix of the world's most popular dog, the Labrador Retriever, and another dog of renowned character, the Boxer. The Labrador Retriever is known for being friendly and outgoing companions who have more than enough affection to go around. The Boxer is renowned from olden times for his great love and faithfulness to his master and household. Harmless to his family, Boxers are bright, friendly, and brave. The resulting hybrid of these two well established breeds is...ME!! I am a gentleman and am very well mannered. I am crate trained, housebroken, and know people pleasin' behaviors like sit, down, and come when called. I walk well on and off my leash. I also LOVE car rides and snuggling!! Foster Mum says that I think that I am at lap dog at 54 pounds!! My theme song is "City of New Orleans", the rendition by my main man, Arlo Guthrie in 1991; I particularly relate to these lyrics; "Good morning America how are you? Don't you know me I'm your native son" With my down to earth personality, I am most definitely a "native son" of this fine land; I hope that I can be a fur kid of yours, as well

Story
Meet Angel, our sweet but shy boxer mix, who currently weighs 60lbs. She takes time warming up to people and has some trust issues, but really is a sweetie pie who will make a great companion dog. She does well with other dogs, especially little ones. Angel looks outwardly quiet and reserved but when she's knows you, she loves to play, bounce around and loves belly rubs. Loves treats, being in her kennel and hanging out in the sunshine. Angel would love a home with a fenced yard, another dog and a family that has patience to build her trust. Dog savvy kids over the age of 10 are ok. She is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150.

Story
Klint is a 4-5 year old boxer/bully mix. He is around 60lbs and incredibly handsome. He is extremely loving and bonds strongly to his people. He loves to give kisses in return for lots of pets and belly rubs. Unfortunately, Klint has been bounced in and out of a few homes as they didn't have time for him, leaving him alone for 12-13 hours per day. Due to this, he is a dog that does not want to be left alone for long periods of time and prefers a home that will give him the time and attention her deserves. Klint enjoys the company of ladies, long walks and kids that are 10+ due to his size, he can get pretty wiggly when he is excited! Klint was mistreated by a man previously and can be a bit apprehensive around new men and needs time to warm up and build trust. Once he has it, he is as loyal as they come. Klint can do well with other dogs with proper introduction. He does not enjoy the company of cats or other small critters. Klint is neutered, UTD on his shots and micro-chipped. His adoption fee is $200.00.

Story
Odie is a 6 -7 year old Boxer mix who weighs roughly 65lbs. He came to us from an Idaho shelter as an owner surrender but we don't know much about his life prior. He is a sweet boy that would enjoy going with his new family on walks and then relaxing on a comfy bed. When he gets to know you he can be playful can be pretty bouncy. He is a very sweet boy deserving a very loving home. Odie has somewhat of an independent spirit and was trained at some point in time as he knows some obedience such as sit, shake and stay. Odie would benefit from obedience training to help him build a relationship with his new family and to help him learn proper manners. He is strong and needs a family that is used to power breed dogs and can manage his strength and teach him what love and family truly mean. Odie needs a confident home with a 6ft fully fenced yard, kids over the age of 10, and no other dogs or cats. Odie is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped. Adoption fee is $200.

Buster  6 yo male Fawn 80 pounds Slow Intro Dog Friendly In home couch lover Outside home loves solitary activites fostered in Portland, OR   Buster here... still in a foster home.... I know I am a big, handsome, but hard to know guy, but I am a softie at heart. I have learned that snuggles are fun and how to ask for someone play with me. I still do need my own space to go to when I am feeling overwhelmed, yet I have learned to "put myself in time-out" by going to my room and resting for a few minutes when I need to. My MOST favorite thing is playing soccer with someone!!! I could play for HOURS!!! I have grown so much since being with NWBR, but the world outside still scares me so I don't do well on a leash around others. Going for a car ride somewhere that no one is at, I totally love it! Mostly I just want to hang out with my people on the couch and watch movies!!! Preferably in front of a fire! I know my foster family loves me, but I hope to find my forever family soon as I really want to be a doggie in a home that is for me, truly part of a forever home. Story
Henry 8.5 yo old male Brindle 85 pounds Slow Intros to dogs outside the home Kid Friendly Crate & Leash Trained fostered in Redmond, WA   Hi, I'm Henry! You know, like the guy that played the "Fonz" on Happy Days!  I recently lost my owner, which was not Happy Days for me, sniff sniff. I am looking  for a new home to live out my golden years and say "heyyyyyy". While I'm 8 I still have  lots of "gas" in the tank, yeah a boxer pun,  and energy to go on walks and will give you a run for your money in a game of tug of war. I love a nice long walk so that I can explore new areas and meet new people. Meeting people is a fun activity, yet if you want me to be a chill dude, kick back and relax at home, watch football, or Lifetime TV, I can handle that too. I am a royal, I mean loyal companion,  and will do my best to protect it from any dangers, floor fluff, you know tough stuff. I'm very respectful of the furniture, and can be left alone unsupervised without any issues. I'm not always sure of what other dogs are about when they come into my house, so I would like to have my home  space only be for me.  I am chill around other dogs outside the house, and walking around with them is cool, or watching them go by while we have a coffee is fun. If you have space in your home for a well behaved boy, who is looking to soak up the fabric of your world please give Henry a chance to show you what a great companion he can be. Henry has  lots of love and fun to give your family. Interested in adopting Henry?
