Story
Meet Fiona, she is a two and a half year old lab/pit mix. She loves long walks, swimming, fetch and cuddles! She was adopted from Best Friends in NYC two years ago. Sadly, her mom works six days a week and commutes over two hours a day, not leaving much time for her. She would love a family with a nice yard to run around in! She is extremely loyal, loving and smart.

Story
Roxy was adopted from the SPCA at the age of 3 and has been a beloved part of our family for the past 8 years. She loves to snuggle, is great with kids, and loves to run outside! Roxy makes human friends everywhere she goes, but does not get along with other animals, so a single-pet home is the ideal setting. With our full schedule and new baby on the way, we aren’t able to give her the attention she deserves. Even at 11 years old, she still has plenty of energy and would love an owner who doesn’t mind playing tug-of-war, taking her outside, and cuddling on the couch at night!

Story
Sweet Penelope CoCo has had a hard life. She was rescued from a high kill shelter and needed several tumors removed. Unfortunately her biopsy results were not the greatest and she only has a limited amount of time left. This news hasn't dampened Penelope's spirits one bit though! She still enjoys living in the moment and appreciates all the good things we have to offer- a soft bed, some kind pats, a crisp morning walk. Penelope is extremely affectionate, loving, and grateful for any attention. It is easy to see the love and the joy in her eyes when she looks at you. If you are looking to make a big difference in a dog's life, please consider adopting Penelope CoCo!

Story
Rhomeo might seem shy at first, but when he gets to know you, his loving personality shines through! Fifteen pound Rhomeo is content spending much of his time laying in a sunbeam or on his own little bed, but likes to know his people are nearby. If you go out, he'll be a good boy (yes, he is house trained!) and just hang out at home waiting for you; you'll get a happy greeting on your return! Rhomeo knows exactly what it means when you pick up the leash--he loves going out on walks & doesn't really pull unless he is eager about getting home for a treat. See him wiggle & hop with excitement as you get close to the front door on your return; once the door is opened, he dashes in to the 'treat area' in anticipation. Rhomeo might be a little hard of hearing so try to make eye contact when you first pet him so as not to startle him, but he loves head & chin scratches and body & belly rubs (but having his legs or paws touched, not so much!). He doesn't shed & has not been up on the furniture at all during his month-long foster stay. He hasn't met a person or dog he doesn't like; he is untested with cats. Rhomeo is a very sweet boy looking for just the right family - is that you?!?

Story
HiMeet Zucchero(powdered sugar). Zu came to us as a severely emaciated dog due to not receiving insulin he needed on a daily basis. It took a very long time for him to recover from this. He is now a happy little man but because of the diabetes he is mostly blind. He will need a home that someone will be there most of the time. He likes walks, car rides(i have a carseat!), and just hanging on the couch. He does have to go potty often and will use pee pads when he knows where they are. However when taken out on a regular schedule he does well. He is on insulin every 12 hours and a special diet Royal Canin GlycoBalance. We know that Zu will be a challenge in the adoption arena with all the other "normal" pets. But we are hoping that maybe someone will find him special enough!!Please contact Annette at the SPCA Tuesday thru Saturday if interested after 2pm
