Story
Baby is a 8 month old pit/lab mix that I rescued from someone who was going to give her to a breeder. She is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met and couldn't let her go to a home like that. She curls up in my lap and just wants to be held and loved on. She gives kisses every morning. She loves to play and lay around with you. She smelled my cats and walked away and has not paid any attention to them since. She is great with my other dog and fantastic with my daughter. She has had a rough start in life and needs a Forever loving home. She is scared of certain things like the raise of my voice or loud wind. I'm currently house training her. She has been outside a lot so some things are new to her. I will need vet references and meet and greet. She has to go only to a loving home. Please, only serious inquiries. She loves to love.

Story
Miss Wings (AKA Wingie) is a beautiful, quiet, gentle, senior Brussels Griffon girl. She is being fostered near Sandwich Massachusetts and your inquiries may be directed to abgrauppermidwest@yahoo.com. Even though she was neglected in the past and is mostly blind and deaf now, Wingie is still very sweet, trusting and self-confident. When she's not following us or outside exploring, she is usually in her favorite dog bed. She looks for us by smell and follows us wherever we go. She is perfectly house trained. She doesn't interact much with the other dogs in her foster home but they coexist quite well. She's always in a hurry to eat. Our guess is that she was used to having many dogs fed at the same time. We’re helping her learn "don’t worry, your food is safe". She loves being outside as long as you are with her. Overall, she is an easy-going wonderful companion! The vet says that aside from bright lights (sunshine vs darkness), she is blind. He also agrees she can no longer hear. When she goes outside at night, she will stick close to you (within sniffing distance) even if the yard is lighted. She needs a patient, gentle adopter with a quiet adult only home, few hours alone and a securely fenced yard so she can safely explore. She tolerates a leash but doesn't like it much. She must feel safer doing it "her way". Wherever she goes, she prefers to sniff her way around. In the yard, she'll keep checking to be sure she knows where you are. ‎She memorized her way around the house and will follow you everywhere...and she will politely keep you company in the bathroom! She is house trained to going outside but will need patient guidance in her new forever home until she is accustomed to you, her surroundings and your routine. Typically, she goes outside immediately in the morning and during the day about every 3 hours. Her last trip outside for the day is around 10-11pm and then she "holds it all night" until the following morning. She will do best with someone who is retired or works from home so she can go outside regularly. We were told that Wingie was born in 2002, but our vet believes she is a few years younger than that. She weighs about 15lbs, is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and Heart Worm negative. She tested positive for E-canis, but we have to wait one year for a recheck because sooner than that will show as positive. The vet went over the symptoms to watch for, none of which she has. We prefer to place her within driving distance of her foster home near Sandwich MA. She may never be shipped in cargo and we do not transport to adoptive homes. She will not be placed in a home with invisible (electric) fencing or with intact dogs. Miss Wings is small enough to be attacked by a coyote or other predator so may never be left outside alone. Being a short-nosed breed, Brussels Griffons are sensitive to extreme heat and cold, so care must be taken when you are outside with her on very hot and very cold days. She must always be securely harnessed and leashed when outside a fenced area and crated or seat belted in the back seat when in a vehicle. Previous dog experience and a veterinary reference with knowledge of your current & past pets is required when submitting an adoption application at www.abgra.org. Are you the gentle, loving forever person that Miss Wings is patiently waiting for?

Story
Mason is a handsome 7 (DOB is 2011) year old smooth coat Brussels Griffon weighing in at 10 lbs and being fostered in Beaverton, Oregon.  Inquiries must be emailed to affengriffonrescue@gmail.com  Below is some information Mason’s foster home provided and his adoption REQUIREMENTS FOLLOW: Mason can be a loving companion who is always looking to be in the company of his “special human”. Whether it’s following you to the kitchen, to the laundry room, or the bathroom, he’s a sweet boy looking for attention and love. He loves to sleep on the bed with you and does enjoy a good snuggle at night regularly but he also likes his space. Mason gets along with and prefers the company of small female dogs. However for the most part, he is independent and could be the right pet for someone as an only pet. Mason needs an ADULT ONLY home that is willing to work with him and be extremely patient with him. He cannot be trusted around children of any age. The only way he knows how to protect himself is to bite/nip. He wants nothing but to give love however he’s also defensive and takes a long time to feel safe with people he does not know. He needs to show his brave side and once he gets to know you and feels safe with you, he lets you know his sweet side - however he remains on guard.  Mason does not behave well at the vet and must be handled in a professional capacity. Mason lets you know whenever he needs to go potty by doing a subtle bark at the door. He also knows how to use a doggie door if available, but due to Mason’s small size he should always be supervised when outside within secure fencing. His foster home is teaching him that they are here to love him and protect him, but he is also teaching them how they need to handle him. He likes his space and lets you know when you can and can’t hold him, eventually coming to a compromise. Mason lives in the moment. If he feels scared he will protect himself from you but he will also be your cuddle bug once he feels safe again. Because of Mason’s small size and big personality, he cannot be placed in a home with large dogs.  He does not live with a cat. He must always be securely leashed when outside a fenced area and crated or seat belted in the back seat when in a vehicle. Mason will need patient guidance in his new forever home until he is accustomed to his surroundings, to you, and your routine. He will need someone who works from home so he can go outside into his safely fenced yard often. Mason is neutered, UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, Heart Worm negative, energetic and healthy.  Mason may never be shipped in cargo and we do not transport to adoptive homes. We want to place Mason within close driving distance to his foster home. He will not be placed in a home with invisible (electric) fencing or with intact dogs. Mason is small enough to be attacked by a hawk, coyote or other predator so may never be left outside alone.  Dog parks are prohibited due to his size.  Being a short-nosed breed, Brussels Griffons are sensitive to extreme heat and cold, so care must be taken when you are outside with him on very hot and very cold days. Previous dog experience and a veterinary reference with knowledge of your current & past pets is required when submitting an adoption application at www.abgra.org.    Mason’s foster home loves Mason very much and they are willing to wait for his perfect forever home. Mason is a quirky strong-willed personality and will be looking for a new owner with a sense of humor.

Story
Ralphie is a darling black Affenpinscher mix being fostered in Linden, Virginia. His birthdate is December 7, 2013, and he weighs about 14.6 pounds. He has his beautiful natural ears and tail. He is loving, house-trained, active (but not hyper), loves going places, and is very polite in public. He is incredibly incredibly intelligent and a real lovebug! However, he does show fear toward first-time visitors on his own turf and is not social If he meets new people in a neutral space, he is outgoing and a true gentleman, but is leery of new people on his own property. Most of all, he is a total character and will keep you entertained like a court jester!

Ralphie knows all his basic commands and wants nothing more than to please you. One hiccup is that he cannot be placed in a home with other male dogs, but with female dogs, he is their best friend. Ralphie deserves to be the center of attention with a loving family and maybe a sister or two (or just him). Ralphie will do best in an active, adult only home with few hours alone. He is very athletic and needs regular exercise (whether that be a fenced-in yard in which to catch balls or a brisk walk). He loves to run off leash, in a contained area (please no dog parks). Ralphie will “play” with cats, he does have a tendency to chase them, but stops on command. He must have a fenced-in yard as opposed to an apartment or condo living situation. Ralphie's intelligence is over the moon, and he can easily climb a 4-foot chain link, so a higher fence (not any type fence he can get his feet into places to climb) will need to be in place for his safety.

He must always be securely harnessed and leashed when outside a fenced area and crated or seat belted in the back seat when in a vehicle. He will do best with someone who works from home so he can get to know you and go outside often. He is healthy, neutered, UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, heart worm negative, active and healthy.

We prefer to place Ralphie within 2 hours (120 miles) driving distance of his foster home . A “meet and greet” would be ideal at the potential adopter's home and will be required before an adoption can be finalized. Our dogs may never be shipped in cargo and we do not transport them to adoptive homes. They are never placed in homes with invisible (electric) fencing or with intact dogs. Doggy doors are OK as long as they are secured at night and when you are gone. Ralphie is small enough to be attacked by a coyote or other predator so may never be left outside alone. Affenpinschers are sensitive to extreme heat and cold, so care must be taken when you are outside with him on very hot and very cold days.
Are you the special person who will give Ralphie the loving forever home he is waiting for?
