Snicks is a sweet, wiggly, playful, high energy four-year-old. He lived in a short-term foster with two other large dogs and did great! He knows basic commands like "sit" and "down" and would be happy to learn more! Snicks is very treat motivated -- a big plus for his new family when they continue his training. He walks easily on leash after he has worked out some of his energy during play time. Snicks recently spent part of an afternoon at a local winery. He loved meeting new people and behaved really well with just a few brief commands. Meet June, a friendly young Pittie mix with the most gorgeous slate gray eyes. This sweet pup has lived with a short-term foster family where she quickly learned the rules of the house, getting along well with her foster family's dog and all the humans. She recently had an outing where she enjoyed burger bites at a local restaurant (see photo) and did great in the car! June is a very affectionate gal that loves her pets and cuddles. Shadow is a hoot! This beautiful, mostly black lab mix starts off shy when she first meets you, but once she warms up to you - it's ON! Shadow tears through the yard and wears herself out every day looking for new things to investigate. Shadow has assembled an impressive collection of toys stolen from dogs that leave toys behind after playtime in the yard. She has also recently started collecting rocks which she keeps hidden under the blanket in her crate. Shadow gets along well with her foster sister who is also shy. They make a sweet pair. They run together and sleep and play together. Shadow likes to cuddle and likes pets when she takes breaks from her outside duties. She is a nice size - just right for cuddle bug weather. She also likes alone time in her crate, where she feels safe and secure with her toy animals and rocks. Sweet Boy came to us with a broken leg. He was the very best patient, trusting and brave as his foster and medical care team tended to his daily needs. We are happy to tell you that Sweet Boy is recovering quite well and is able to use his leg again! Sweet Boy remains in the care of his foster, who tells us that he is a loyal and loving boy. He is affectionate and attentive, loves to play with his foster sister and go exploring in the yard. His foster says, "Sweet Boy's tenacity and determination to heal has shined through. Chico came to us when his owner moved and could no longer care for him. Until then, Chico was living a secure and happy life, going everywhere with his human, even commuting to and from work. Chico knows that more good days are ahead. He is a happy, spirited, and affectionate boy. Chico can make a game out of tossing around a small treat (see video) or carrying sticks around the yard. He likes to be close to his humans, winding around their legs, and he is always ready for cuddles. Chico plays well with other large dogs at the refuge. He is also great with kids as we saw during a recent Adoption Day every where he wagged his tail and gave kisses to three children who came up to pet him.
