Story
Zara is a sweet loving girl. Zara currently lives with 2 other dogs and 4 cats. She plays well with dogs her size and energy level. She like to instigate playtime and can be very persistent which other dogs might find to be annoying. With cats for the most part she is good but when in play mood sometimes she needs correcting with leave it. Zara is great with children over 9 years old but we would not recommend her with very small children or first time pet owners. Zara needs a strong handler who won't back down to her as she sometimes tries to get her way and can be very vocal about it. With correction and persistence she follows commands. Commands Zara knows are leave it, paw, other paw, sit, wait, kennel, go, back up, come, here and down. On leash Zara is good with a harness but she still pulls and we are working on that. Zara requires a yard with a fence that is over 5 ft tall as she can clear a 4 ft one no problem. In regards to food she doesn't have any issues with people or children touching her food although sometimes with other animals she can guard her food. She sometimes needs to be reminded to take treats nice. Zara is still kenneled when left at home which is only an hour or two a day. When kenneled for long periods she will become destructive to show her disappointment with being locked up. She has done well at night not being kenneled.

Story
We don't know a lot about young Kovu's life before his rescue. His past history has caused him to be nervous and unsure in certain situations. It has taken some time, but when he starts to relax, he really enjoys a good cuddle and some one on one attention. Kovu is smart and has learned quickly that being on a leash and going for a walk is a positive and enjoyable experience. His foster mom has been working daily on his leash training (all training in general) and because of her, he has made great strides and continues to make daily progress. When Kovu is very excited or gets over stimulated, he can play rough with other dogs and so he will need an experienced handler. Kovu is not submissive and will not run away. He plays nicely with dogs that he feels comfortable with both big and small, but his foster mom always monitors play time. He has very good recall. Kovu really wants to be respectful, but trust is hard for him and he struggles with being told what to do at times. Kovu will need somebody with large breed Shepherd/Husky experience who will not put him in a situation where he's going to feel threatened and be on the defensive. Someone that knows how to handle a dog with an unknown past. No cats. According to Kovu, cats are meant for chasing. It is very important for Kovu to have structure in his environment and daily exercise filled with plenty of fun activities. We think he needs a job because he is not a typical family/house dog. The more active he has during the day, the more content and relaxed he will feel in the evening.Kovu has definitely come a long way with training, but if allowed, he pushes boundaries and so on-going training is a must. He is a beautiful deserving dog, and although he wasn't treated the way he should have been as a puppy/young adult, he is worth the effort and time it takes to find him a wonderful home.

Story
Primrose is not only beautiful but she has a lovely temperament. She is curious about everything around her and loves to make you happy by learning new things. Prim is also surprisingly empathetic. To give an example, her foster mom has chronic health issues and Prim has faithfully stayed by her side on the down days, despite preferring to walk many kilometers each day. Primrose would be an ideal dog for almost any household, from a single person to a family with kids, but that's not to say she'll be an easy dog. Her intelligence and curiosity mean she will need to be mentally engaged and walked at least a couple times each day. She's likely to act out from boredom if just put in the yard to pee. As well, she gets very bonded so you may have some separation anxiety issues at the beginning. Yet it's the smartness and loyalty that make Prim one of those special dogs you never forget.

Due to her severe reaction to other animals She would need to be the only pet. All this silly girl wants to do is be curled up in your lap.  Adoption status: Available She is also looking for a foster home

Story
We would like to see her go to a family that has breed experience. London loves to cuddle and play. She needs a home that has no kids or plans for kids until she has passed away, no other animals in the home and that understands that she can be protective so she needs to be in another room before answering the door etc. London may be a little slower these days and want more cuddle time but she LOVES to play still. Her favorite activities are Tug, fetch and trying out treat puzzles. While she is not able to have any fur siblings and may be a bit much for the wee human kind, she would be the perfect addition to the right household. Do you have room in your heart and home for this sweet playful senior to live out her days?
