Story
My first owner had a lot of problems and one was keeping me safe. One day I met Dakota and her owner Sarah at the dog park. We all became instant friends. One day, my owner was crying and talking to Sarah at the park as I played. I would later find out that my owner was losing her housing and couldn’t take me with her. I was okay with that because Sarah begged my owner to not put me in a shelter and that she would take me until my owner found a place to live. It made perfect sense. Sarah grew up as a foster child so it made sense for her to want to foster me! When I arrived I was sick but Sarah nursed me back to health. My owner said I could stay with Sarah. Then one Feb. day I didn’t feel so good. I’m like, “Wait a minute. I’m just 2 years old, young and handsome!” But something was not the same. I had 5 grand mal seizures in 24 hours. I am no burden but I can see how my ‘new’ quality of life affects my family’s quality of life. I am a special breed with a lot of love in my heart.

Story
Barley is a sweet and friendly dog. We had to adopt a family member’s cat and even though Barley gets long with him, he is more anxious than he was before. He will sometime have an accident in the house. Our job situations have changed so we are unable to be at home during the day so he can regularly be taken outside so he won’t have accidents.

Story
Lucy is a spicy pup. She’s got a big personality for being 10 lbs. She’d be wonderful with someone that wants a true companion. She’s a little bossy but she’s quick to give even the biggest strangers a kiss. She’s silly and sweet. She is territorial over toys but she’d do well with someone willing to train her. She is totally content on a run, in a kayak or lying on the couch for hours. She needs someone loving and kind. Lucy currently lives with two other dogs and has been around very tolerant cats. She’s got an issue with children and we are currently pregnant. I love my little cutie but I feel like she’d do better in a new home. She really is a great dog. She is down for adventure and wants nothing more than to sleep on your lap. Crate trained for sleeping and potty trained.

Story
This is our dog Elly. We got her from a rescue 5 years ago. When we first got her, she was very frightened of everything and it took a while for her to adjust to her new home. At that time, we had an older lab and 2 cats, and she was fine around them. She was nervous around new dogs, but would also eventually warm up. After our lab past away, we got another dog. Elly did not warm up to her right away, and started exhibiting some mild aggression/jealousy. Over the past 2-3 years, her aggression towards other dogs and ours has increased. We put her on Prozac at the advice of the vet. It helped some, but have had several incidents between her and other dogs, so we don't take her anywhere where other dogs are, and we have to keep her separated from our other dog when we are not around. . She is very sweet when it is just us. She is timid around people at first, but warms up after a few meetings. We think she would be happier in a home with no other dogs/pets.
