Story
Meet our awesome Hound mix girl named Daffodil! Daffodil is about 5 years old, and she is a super playful pup! She was originally found roaming in Meriden more than a few months ago. It took a long time for her to recover from the state she was in when we first found her. Daffodil was found on someone's front porch petrified, and completely emaciated. When we finally got her to our shelter, she threw up trash for a few days. As you can imagine, she had quite the appetite, and still loves her food! Now Daffodil has gained weight and gotten to the point where we were able to get her spayed. Daffodil absolutely loves toys and treats! She listens well and will sit nicely. Daffodil still needs to work on how she takes treats and toys from people. She is still grabby because she gets so excited. After being abandoned outside and left to starve, who can blame her? At this time, we are looking for a home where Daffodil can be the only pet. She is not aggressive towards other dogs on walks or ones that are around her, but she is too focused on food and toys for it to be safe for her to live with another dog at this time. She can go to a home with older children, 16 years old and up, again because she can be grabby with toys and treats. Daffodil is a great dog who will make someone a very loyal companion! She is ready and waiting to find her forever home! If you are interested in meeting Daffodil, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for more info! MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please call for an appt. 203-235-4179 There is daily viewing from 3-4 BUT officers may be called out of emergencies..PLEASE LET US KNOW YOU ARE COMING:) WE DON'T WANT TO MISS YOU!! 203-235-4179 Leave a message, we will call you back promptly. You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID.There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal. ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME. Story
Name: RosieBreed: Boxer MixAge: 6 Size: Medium – 49 lbsEnergy Level: Medium. Rosie will be more mellow outside of the kennel setting. She is desperately looking for a home to show her the love she once had, before her previous owner passed away. She does love her long walks though. Best Feature: Aside from her jaw dropping smile, Rosie is an absolute lady on a leash!Kids/Cats/Dogs: Rosie is great with children, but in terms of other animals, Rosie would love to be your one and only! It’s been hard for her, and all she wants is to be the apple of your eye and not have to share that. Crate Trained/Housebroken: YUP!What else: She is food motivated and takes treats gently from your hand. Rosie is a bit confused as to why she is here. When she is outside she is constantly looking for “her person.” Rosie is looking for her second chance at happiness. She would love to go for a long walk and then snuggle up with you on the couch. Rosie is waiting for that special person who is currently searching for their new BFF.If you think Rosie is the Lady to your Tramp, please submit an application on our website!

Story
This dog is not a part of our rescue. Inquiries please email adoptblue2020@gmail.com Meet Blue! A beautiful 2 year old pit/lab mix weighing in around 45lbs. Some things about Blue: she is playful and loves her human mom and brother very, very much. She also loves other people at her local dog run because they care for her dog-friends who she also loves very, very much. She is super fast and loves to run and every person who meets her is in awe of her grace and speed. She’s fiercely loyal and protective of her family and cohabitates with our cat with no issues. She is a warm, cuddle ball at night, sleeping right up against your body. She is potty trained and up-to-date on all vaccines. So why do we need to re-home our beautiful Blue? Unfortunately, Blue is petrified of the city — every noise, stranger, and walking on the city sidewalks causes her to shake and shut down and its clear in order for her to grow into the dog she wants and needs to be, she needs more quiet and space. Blue would benefit most from a family or individual who has a yard and/or is very close to a park, is passionate about animals and could commit the time and resources necessary for her well-being. Someone who understands the necessity of consistent training, who has patience and empathy to help guide her out of her fearful shell AND who has experience with high anxiety dogs. If you are that person, Blue would be a perfect match and fill your heart with so much love and joy.

Story
I was given my dog by my son as a graduation present from nursing school five years ago. He was my first dog ever. Someone practically gave him to my son so I’m not sure if he is pure bred but his physical characteristics seem so. It’s been a challenge for me as a first time dog owner who originally had a feat of large dogs. I’ve had him since he was 4 weeks old ! I know too soon but the people giving him away weren’t the best. I’m a nurse and work a lot of different shifts so having enougj time for him is hard. He is a love bug. He thinks he’s a lap dog at 100 lbs. He loves to be around his owner lounging. My issue is I work full tome and I’m trying to enroll to go back for my bachelor’s in nursing. I’m looking for a person who would love and care for him that has the time he needs.
