Story
Betty is a sweet, well behaved, outgoing, black and white Lab mix who was very lucky to make it out of animal control alive. Being a big black dog the odds were stacked against her and she was scheduled to be euthanized when we learned of her fate and were able to help. Luckily, Betty found a foster that is partial to big black dogs and was saved. Betty is estimated to be about 4 -5 years old and weighs 55lbs. She absolutely loves to spend time with humans, especially when she can get lots of belly rubs. We envision the best situation for Betty to be with a singe person or in an adult household allowing Betty to receive all the attention and love she deserves. The ideal forever home for Betty is one in which she will not be left alone for long hours, get plenty of attention, and not have to share it with other dogs or cats. She can be anxious when thunderstorms are looming, and sometimes becomes worried and stressed when there are too many people and too much activity in the home. Betty would also love a fenced yard so that she can spend time outside, safely enjoying sunbathing and checking out nature. Betty is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and year-round heartworm prevention, microchipped, and housebroken. If you are interested in meeting Ms Boop, please email BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or call 847-852-0895.

Story
Molly and Speckles are an absolutely adorable couple and are just so fun to watch...and love! They are two Chihuahua mixes, Molly, about 15 lbs and 10 years old, and Speckles, about 20 lbs and 8 years old. We know that bonded pairs are more difficult to adopt out, but this adorable pair were "CODE RED" and we certainly did not want to see them lose their lives. There are so many Chihuahuas and so many seniors looking for homes....we realize finding them an absolutely perfect home for them together, will be a challenge but we are up for it…and they certainly deserve to live their senior years together, with a family who has enough love for both of them! In addition to the fact that they are a bit older, each has a mild medical concern, being managed holistically. Molly had been diagnosed with Cushing's Disease which is being well managed by Ophiopogon, a Chinese herb, and we provide Speckles with Hepato, a high quality extract of milk thistle with antioxidants and supportive nutrients. (His liver values showed slight elevation and we wanted to address this.) Both Molly and Speckles are doing very well with good nutrition, a couple of supplements, and most important, the love and care of their foster family. Molly and Speckles are fully vetted, believed to be house-broken, on supplements to manage their respective medical concerns, altered and microchipped for permanent identification.

Story
Our little friend Bunny is looking for a forever home of his own. Bunny came to the U.S. from Egypt after being hit by a car and left for dead. He could not move and was likely to die a horrible death if no one helped him to safety. Thankfully, someone did! This sweet young boy suffered severe damage to his spinal cord; it had been severed. As a result Bunny cannot use his back legs. He gets around just great by dragging himself wherever he wants to go. He also has a cart for long walks outdoors. Bunny has no idea he has mobility issues...because, he does not let them get in his way of having fun! Bunny is good with other dogs, and actively plays with them. He can become a bit overly playful at times as he scurries around the play room. This sweet boy is estimated to be 5 years old, and just under 30 lbs. He is likely a Shepherd Mix. We realize it will take a very special family to open its heart to Bunny but we are hopeful that person/family is out there. It would be a dream come true for Bunny to have a home to enjoy the spring and all the fun things it brings!! Bunny is funny vetted, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm preventative, neutered and microchipped. If you are interested and able to open your heart and home to Bunny, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 773-510-1375.

Story
There's DAISY! Here at BAARK Dog Rescue, many of our dogs require specific and extra special forever homes and families to care for them and meet their life-long needs. Such is the case for our young girl, Daisy. At her foster home, Daisy is a little live wire and plays practically nonstop with her canine friends, especially outside where she hides, jumps, ambushes, and runs, runs, and runs some more!!! When she is out of her comfort zone, perhaps visiting potential families, she acts timid and shy; you’d never know the adorable stinker she is when she is relaxed. In searching for the ideal forever home for Daisy, we are looking for a family who will overlook her initial presence and give Daisy the time and space she needs to relax and grow to be a part of the family. Daisy is bright and playful and loves having others to play with. She would do best in a home with another calm but playful dog. A fenced yard is also necessary for her. Daisy would not do well in a situation involving small children or one in which she is left alone for long periods of time. Also, Daisy does not ride well in the car; she tends to become car sick. While we are not sure of Daisy’s breed; we believe she is a Hound, and we know she is absolutely adorable! Daisy is 1 year old, and weighs about 31 lbs. She is fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped for permanent identification, She is heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm preventative. If you are interested in meeting Daisy, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or call 847-852-0895

German Shepherd Dog Mixed Breed (Large)

Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Ezie is a very handsome and personable German Shepherd, and has characteristics typical of the breed: He is very intelligent, can be pushy to get what he wants, and, if you’re not careful, he can easily manipulate you into giving in to his preferences! Ezie would do best in a home with a family experienced with the breed, who recognizes his intelligence and occasional stubbornness, and does not mistake his behavior for aggression. He’s an active, and sometimes mouthy boy, typical of Shepherds. Ezie will require a secure fenced yard and sufficient exercise. Daily walks would be very beneficial not only for exercising but also as a bonding experience. Ezie can be OK with another dog, but might prefer to be the only dog, the center of attention in his new home. He enjoys the company of people including older children (over the age of 12 years). Ezie is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, microchipped for permanent identification, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm tested and on year-round heartworm preventative, If you are interested in providing a stable, structured and loving forever home for this handsome boy, please contact BAARK at BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.
