Story
A Good Samaritan found a stray dog, took her home, searched high and low for the owners in all the right ways, but no one came forward. She got this sweetie all the vetting she needed, cared for her like she was one of her own, and started reaching out to rescues for help. We started searching for a foster but came up empty handed until one day one of our dedicated volunteers decided to take the leap into fostering! When they met it was love at first sight, a true match made in heaven. Please help us welcome the newest member of the CTP family...Quinn! All good things from here. More info as she settles in.

Story
Two dogs were found abandoned in a home with no food or water, left to starve, and fend for themselves. Thankfully they were found, brought to animal control to receive food & shelter, and quickly became part of @safehumanechicago. Both were terrified and needed to learn to trust, but when the time was taken with them the return paid off tenfold. We wanted desperately to get these two out and into a foster home but kept hitting dead ends. When we heard that one found rescue we were overjoyed and even more determined to bust out the little girl who remained. CACC was at capacity, many dogs were urgent status (including her), and time was running out. As of yesterday she had waited 108 days in animal control (let that sink in a moment) for her freedom to the life she was meant to live. That’s right, a wonderful foster family met her and saw everything that we did! We are proud to announce the newest member of the CTP family...Cambria! She will never know hunger, abandonment, or loneliness again. All good things from here. More info as she settles in.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Our online adoption application can be found on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Milly is a sweet and beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier, 2 years old and weighs 53 pounds.  Her foster mother says that she is a gentle, grateful and loving dog. She loves to be pet and will give you kisses. She wants to be around humans and although she prefers women, she is warming up to men, especially if they feed her!  Milly is great in the house, sleeps through the night and she doesn’t chew inappropriate things  or bark out the window. She goes into her kennel on command and know sit,  down, shake, outside and cookie. She doesn’t like the company of other dogs.  A fenced in back yard would be her favorite thing! Milly is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and spayed.  Her new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Milly's adoption fee is $250.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Milly fill out an Online Dog Adoption Application today! Once your application has been approved, an A.R.F. volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.  Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop!

Story
A teeny weeny bat faced munchkin ended up at DCAS as a stray. It was very clear that there was something very wrong with her back leg since she wasn’t putting weight on it and could barely use it. Upon exam the Dr said the leg would need to be amputated. We knew this girl needed out as soon as possible but needed a foster who was capable of caring for a healing amputee, and we had the just the one! This wonderful foster family has cared for many of our medical dogs without even thinking twice, and that was the case again. Please help us welcome the newest member of the CTP family...Pepper! More info as she settles in. Her amputation will be in two weeks and we will keep you posted every step of the way!

Story
Almost 2 months ago a teeny tiny munchkin was found as a stray and brought to CACC; she was severely underweight, covered in scars, and had lots of missing fur. As she settled in the volunteers soon saw her goofy personality shine through, she gained a couple pounds, and her skin started to look a tad better. It became evident when we met this pocket pittie that she needed to get out and join our pack, not sure exactly what sealed the deal. It could have been her adorable zoomies, her default sit, her nibbling treats like she’s eating corn, or the way she loves to be as close to you as possible. One of our fosters saw exactly what we did in this cutie and stepped forward to take her in! Please help us welcome the newest member of the CTP family...Apple 🍎! All good things from here! More info as she settles in!

Story
What happens when a squatty brindle babe is confiscated from deplorable living conditions where there is also no food or water? You're right, her life just got amazing! Especially because she became part of the Safe Humane Chicago where she will get a lifetime of support. Just when things were going well for Hootnanny and she started to come out of her shell we had her meet one of our foster families who has been looking to help a dog in need but needs a specific personality to fit in their home with their existing dog. And just like that, she threw out all the moves and sealed the deal! Please help us welcome the newest member of the CTP family...Gianna! Yep... new life, new name! More info to come as she settles in.
