Story
THIS DOG WILL NOT BE READY FOR ADOPTION, UNTIL MY FURRY VALENTINE. IF YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED IN MEETING/ADOPTING HIM, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PRE-APPROVED APPLICATION BEFORE THAT WEEKEND (FEB 15TH AND 16TH). NIKE was found several months ago abandoned along side of a Kentucky road with a bag of food and toys and two broken legs. This beautiful boy had surgery and went to water therapy and is now ready to find his forever home! NIKE is a 1 year old, 70+ pound Boxer mix and 100% pure lap dog. He is looking for a family that will continue to keep him active through his whole life. He lacks a bit of grace and has zero knowledge of his size so he's kinda like a bull in a china shop! He is very silly, playful and loves attention. Good with other dogs in his foster home, but has not been tested with cats. He knows some basic commands, is house trained, but still working on staying focused when on the lease (those darn squirrels just keep teasing him). If you are interested in meeting this amazing boy, visit our website at www.rescuehart.org to fill out an adoption application.

Story
Alfalfa (Parker) is a 2 year old, 80-ish pound, Lab/Shar Peit mix who was adopted as a puppy and recently brought back to HART. His mom was a Shar Pei mix who was pregnant upon coming to HART, and had her puppies in a warm loving foster home. Parker is generally a very sweet dog and loves getting attention from adults. He loves being outside unless it’s rainy. If the weather is nice, he has to be drug in from the backyard! He’s housebroken, crate trained, graduated from obedience class last year and is good with his commands unless there is another dog around to distract him. He would likely be best in a house with just adults and as an only dog where he can get all the attention!! He loves sleeping in bed but will sleep in his crate with no issues if need be. Although he’s 2 years old, and mostly well behaved, he can still have some puppy tendencies (chewing, stealing food) but also loves his lazy afternoons sleeping on the couch. If you would like to meet Alfalfa (Parker), please go to our website at www.rescueahart.org and fill out an online adoption application.

Story
We're looking to re-home Griffindor, the beautiful 2-3 year old Collie. He is energetic, loving and incredibly smart. He is in need of space to run and play, such as a fenced in back yard. He is incredibly loyal and eager to please you, he just has very dominant traits of his breed which is to work and explore everything around him. He is good on a leash, but has minimal training, with more training he would be an amazing family dog. He is incredibly loyal and eager to please you. Please fill out our application and send a copy to the below email address with the application and/or any questions you might have: barelyusedpetsglendale@gmail.com. Just copy the below link into your browser to print it off and send it over. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwCVF_JmGZQ3bTItb3NMWGcwZzQ/view?usp=sharing Us fur-kids deserve a second chance. Thank you for supporting rescues who help ensure we get one! And please remember to spay and neuter your pets and neighborhood strays! While I was at the shelter, I couldn't believe all of the wonderful dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens who are homeless. Take it from me, being homeless is no fun! Application is required. No member of our organization receives proceeds from our adoption fees. All dogs have past experiences, preferences and personalities. Please always consider the personality and breed tendencies of any pup that you are interested in adopting to ensure that he or she will be the perfect fit for your home, for both your sake and his! Do not select a forever companion based on looks alone. Make this home his or her home for life!

Size

Story
Little Libby was found abandoned at a state park in Tennessee and was taken home by one of HART's fosters. She's approximately a year old and weighs 25-30 pound. HART was told that she was a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix, but we definitely see some Boxer in her cute face. Libby gets along with the two other dogs in her foster home but likes to be the boss. We're not sure how she is with cats as she hasn't been tested with them. This little girl is house and crate trained but is still going through the chewing phase. If you would like to meet Libby, please go to our website at www.rescueahart.org and fill out an online adoption application.

Story
Nori is a 6.5 year old, 48 pound, pure bred Husky that came to us from an Amish puppy mill. He has adjusted to being in a house fairly well, and is still working on learning to give warning when he needs to go to the bathroom. He has beautiful coloring, like a red panda, which shows up well in sunlight. Nori has taken to being spoiled and having creature comforts and toys. He is wonderful with other dogs and would enjoy having a doggy companion to hang out with. He is true to the husky breed and will escape out of a fence, by climbing, so he needs to be watched or be on a cable. He is working on improving his leash manners, and surprisingly doesn't pull very hard, but needs work to not dart after things when he's on a leash. Nori isn't fond of cages due to being locked up for most of his life. However, he is getting better with them and realizes they aren't his forever living spot now. At night he sleeps either on the bed or on the floor in the bedroom. He loves being around people and will curl up with them whenever he can. If you would like to meet Nori, please go to our website at www.rescueahart.org and fill out an online adoption application.

Story
Graley is an extremely sweet, all around good boy! He was found as a stray in West Virginia and was extremely emaciated. With some good food and TLC, he is now at a healthy weight and thriving! Graley is a 6 year old, 48 pound, German Shepherd mix who would love his very own forever home. Graley is dog friendly but hasn't been tested yet with cats. Initially, he is reserved about meeting new people but quickly warms up and wants to cuddle. As you can see from his picture, he is insistent on being the navigator during car rides! Graley appears to be crate/house trained, and sincerely wants a home to call his own. If you would like to meet Graley, please go to our website at www.rescueahart.org and fill out an online adoption application.
