Story
Name: Juno Breed: Husky/mix Gender: Male (neutered) Age: 2 years (DOB 22nd Dec 2017) Cats: No Dogs: Yes - larger, no small dogs Kids: No Juno is a 2 year old Husky mix, possibly shepherd. He's very nice and friendly, but also very hyper and untrained. He's friendly with other dogs, he's probably too much for small animals and kids. Definitely no cats or offleash. Juno would be best suited to a home that can give him one-to-one training and where he can spend time outside. He would actually prefer to live outside than in the house and a dog run with dog house would be ideal for him. He is food motivated and eager to please. He needs to learn how to be a dog with proper training and manners. He knows some basic commands and will sit nicely for treats. He is learning not to jump up or be mouthy which he tends to do when he is excited and wants to play. He loves his crate and travels well in the car. Juno has shown some resource guarding for food when he was in the shelter. He's never showed any kind of aggression with people (other than resource guarding) or other dogs. He's very friendly and loves to play. He isn't too bad on leash and he really enjoys going for long walks. Juno is not suitable for a home with small dogs, small animals or young kids. He would love a home with lots of outdoor time and would make a great hiking partner. Juno is very strong and will need an experienced and firm owner. Juno is neutered, up to date on vaccines and parasite preventatives. He is a very healthy boy with lots of energy. • Located in Tottenham, ON – $400 adoption fee • In foster, needs adopter • Looking for a home since August 2019 To fill out a foster/adoption application, please visit SHARP – Siberian Husky Assistance & Rescue Program’s website at https://sharprescue.ca/

Miley

Chihuahua

Female, Adult
Colborne, ON
Size
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Miley came to us from a vet clinic in Quebec after being surrendered for euthanasia due to a massive bladder stone. Instead, we agreed to take her into care and provided her lifesaving surgery from which she has recovered beautifully, however she will need to be monitored and on a urinary diet for life. Miley is a happy, bouncy, affectionate little girl. She loves children, is good with cats, but is selective with other dogs, seeming to prefer smaller dogs, and slow introductions. We feel that Miley would be happiest in a home with one person she can bond with as she would love a warm lap and undivided attention. To apply to adopt Miley, please visit www.K9C.ca to complete our online application.

She can be a bit nervous on the first meeting but warms up very quickly. She's a happy fun filled gal that will require a fenced yard and patience for her to settle in to a New Beginning. BeeGee is kind house trained and will make the perfect companion for someone with time and patience. Find our app at www.ruffstartnewbeginnings.com and we're very glad to have you visit.

Story
Zack came to us from Egypt where dogs are thought of as pests, they live a horrific life but all of that has changed. He is very guarded with new people but once he warms up he is a terrific companion. He is full of life and love and will make a wonderful companion for the right family or person. He enjoys the outdoors and doesn't seem to mind the cold! We'd like to see Zack thriving in a foster to adopt home *everything you need will be provided by the rescue while in foster care.

Story
Sammy came to us after being surrendered to a high kill pound in Quebec. She arrived to our care overweight and with some mobility issues for which she is engaging in hydrotherapy to help her improve her strength and stamina. We are looking for a loving home with a family willing to continue on this journey back to wellness with Sammy to ensure she has lots of happy years ahead. Sammy enjoys children (over 10 only) and other lower energy, medium to large sized male dogs. She will require a home without small dogs or cats. Sammy is not crate trained, but can hold her bladder overnight without issue. Throughout the day, she needs to have the opportunity to go outside at least every 4-5 hours, otherwise she may have accidents in the house. Sammy can resource guard her toys, so we would not recommend giving her toys in the presence of other dogs or children. She loves attention, and enjoys her walks. A home without stairs would be best suited to Sammy. To apply to adopt this beauty, please visit www.K9C.ca to complete our online application.
