Story
Meet Churro, Churro came to Revolutionary Rescue after he was turned in to the Cambridge Humane Society as a stray. Churro was very scared, withdrawn and reluctant to humans. Shelter staff reached out for a rescue as they knew he would not thrive in the shelter setting. When Churro arrived in foster care he was greeted by 2 other Chihuahuas, a Golden Retriever mix and 2 resident cats. Churro was not house trained, leash trained and had very poor manners with other dogs. We are happy to report that after weeks of foster care Churro is a brand new dog. Churro's new home will provide a child free, structured environment with someone who has experience with small dog behavioral issues. (Potty training, jumping on/in people and other animals personal space, fear biting). Although, small, Churro LOVES to be active. He requires daily walks to help burn out his peppy energy. Churro would excel with a family who is home more often than not and is looking to have a dog join in on all their adventures. As with most Chihuahuas they bond very closely to their person and love to cuddle on the couch. Churro is very affectionate and is happiest when he can be as close to you as possible. Churro does bark at new people but warms up quickly. Churro is being trained using positive reinforcement and has shown vast improvements in his behaviour because of it. We will be looking for a very specific home so Churro can find his perfect match. Churro's new home will provide the following: -Daily meaningful walks -Structured positively reinforced in home lifestyle -No young children -No large dogs -Home more often than not -Willing to continue feeding a healthy raw diet and daily supplements -On going crate training Applicants with the following will be given preference: -Positive reinforcement/force free experience -Work from home -Experience working with small breeds -Have fed a balanced raw diet If you are interested in adopting CHURRO please ensure you have read through our adoption process thoroughly. All interested applicants must fill out an adoption application in order to advance in the adoption process. We thank everybody for the interest however we will only contact you if your application has passed initial screening. At Revolutionary Rescue our main focus is to find our dogs a perfect long last match for life. Story
Hey there, I’m Caleb, a 6 year old Jack Russell Terrier mix. I had an incredibly rough start in life so I am really excited to be in Toronto so I have a chance at a fresh start! My foster mom says that I move too quickly to get a great picture so let me just assure you that I am as cute as anything. Not only am I cute, but I am a really good boy. Other than my first night when I was nervous, I haven’t had any accidents in my foster home. I don’t really know his things called toys are because I never had any so I don’t play with them yet. I’m also a bit shy but I do always wag my tail when I see people or other dogs. I really like other dogs and I’m quite social with them. I’m doing quite well on my leash walking and I get really excited when my foster mom goes to get the leash. I’m a good sleeper I like to lie in my bed. Because of my past, I am afraid of loud noises or being startled but hopefully, over time, I will get to know that the world is not such a scary place. I’ve been living in an condo with my foster family so I’d probably be OK in one long term. I haven’t really barked at all yet. But I’d also be great in a house with a yard. As long as you are patient and kind, that’s all I ask. If you think I might be your boy, apply for me today As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpawsanimalrescue.com. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter. All new pet parents will receive 6 weeks complimentary Pet Secure Accident and Illness Protection for any dog adopted from Just Paws. Once activated, the trial will cover veterinary bills up to $500.00 for accidents or illnesses, excluding pre-existing conditions. Please note that Just Paws is not responsible for insurance issues that may arise with your chosen veterinarian

Story
Hello potential new bestie! My name is COCO and I'm a happy bouncy young Beagle boy looking for my perfect home. I have a wonderful loving personality and although I'm a bit shy at first, I promise I will fall in love with you very quickly! The perfect home for me would be one where I'm not left alone for long hours. In fact, I'd love it if someone were hanging out with me most of the time. Trust me, once you look into my soulful eyes, you'll never want to leave me anyway. I would also like to have a fur sibling to hang out with, so that when you do have to leave, I can have a buddy to nap and play with. I'm also looking for a detached home with a fenced in yard to run around in. I'm housetrained, although I may have an accident sometimes. I'm really good at letting my foster family know when I need to be let out though. I'm good on leash and love playing with my toys. I also love going to the dog park and playing with all the new friends I make there. I'm ok with being in a crate, but I prefer to sleep in my chosen human's bed. I also would prefer a home with a set schedule, as I'm not a big fan of change. Since I'm still a young pup, I can be quite klutzy at times and trust me, you'll fall in love with my antics. If you're looking for a good natured, fun and a little clumsy boy, then I'm your dog! Please apply for me now! *** As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! Story
I’m SASSY and I am the life of the party! Everyone I meet loves me! I just turned 1 years old on Valentine’s Day and looking for my forever home. I am a very active girl who would love a home with another active doggie, but I’d be fine on my own too. I like to cuddle and loves to give kisses. I’m fully grown now and weigh 25lbs. I'm very much still a puppy and always up to silly antics. I have an amazing personality! I am fully housetrained and I’ll stand at the door to let my foster mom know when I need to go out. I would definitely benefit from puppy classes so I can learn to be the best girl in the whole wide world. I’m working on my leash training. I sometimes am reactive to people on our walks, I like to let people know I’m here. I get along very well with my foster fur siblings, who are always willing to indulge me when I want to play. I'm crate trained, I’m in my crate during the day and will go in sometimes when I want to be alone. I LOVE my treats and toys! I prefer to sleep in bed with my human but also enjoy my big bed, as long as I’m near them. I sleep through the night. I’ll need a house with a fenced backyard, because I like to run and jump. I’ve discovered my voice and sometimes will bark, so an apartment might not be the best for me. I also am more of a lady’s dog; men seem to scare me. My foster mom is pretty confident with some proper training this can easily be fixed, because I do like my foster granddad. I may be small in size, but I have the biggest heart around! Please adopt me so I can show you how much I love you! *** As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! Story
Hi there! I’m Kasey. I’m a 6 year old Jack Russell Terrier (or maybe Rat Terrier) mix. I’ve had a very rough start in life and was found in not nice conditions. Right now, I’m not willing to let anyone touch me. However, as I’m starting to trust my foster family, I am approaching them and giving them kisses. As long as it’s on my terms and they don’t try to pet me, I’m good. I think that with time, I will get to trust people again because I really want to. When my foster family comes in the room, I get very excited and dance around. I also like to follow them around. They know they have to be very patient with me because if I’m approached too quickly, I will get spooked. Although I’m quite scared of people, I really really love dogs. I will need a dog in the home so that I can learn to trust. I am loving hanging out with my furry foster siblings. I’m also discovering how much fun it is to play with toys! Although I will need a patient family who is willing to work with me on my trust issues, otherwise, I’m very easy. I’m fully house trained and have had no accidents since I’ve been with my foster family. I love to eat my food. I like to be in the backyard but not when it’s too cold. I walk pretty well on a leash but will need some more practice. If you think I’m worth a chance, apply for me today! As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpawsanimalrescue.com. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. DOG LOCATION: Ajax, ON.   Luke is a typical poodle full of energy, does the poodle nudge/poke and lifts your hand for a rub and is very affectionate.  Luke is high energy and requires lots of exercise, he currently gets 3 walks a day for a total of 10 km (1 in the morning, 1 at noon and 1 in the evening).  This allows Luke to settle nicely in the house and curl up in his favorite corner.  Luke is good with people and enjoys the interaction and is happy to see them.  He has is favorite people when out walking, and will lean up against them for scratches behind his ears.  However, he is not a match for small children as he gets too interested in their play and is too rough when joining in.  He has no idea of his size and still thinks he is a puppy. He is selective with other dogs and would probably do well in a home of his own or with a calm dog or senior dog.  Luke is learning how to play / engage play properly, this is a work in progress.  If a dog does not want to play with him, after a couple of attempts, he will back off.   He is quite calm on a leash, however, certain dogs make him anxious, in particular, ones that stare him down.  In a situation like that, it is important to keep him on a short leash so that he does not get behind you and start head-butting you.  Otherwise he walks by others dogs quite calmly.  He has gotten much better with squirrels (now he just prances by), no interest in birds, but does try to get at the rabbits.     Luke is a pleasure to have in the home, his foster home trusts him 100% when left alone.  He is a quiet boy during the day, which is a bonus if you work from home.  At night, he curls up on the corner of the bed, and doesn't move until you're ready to get up.  He loves bed time and will go up without you if you are taking too long to go to bed.  In the mornings, he waits patiently for when you're ready to take him out; even when you put the leash on, he is quite calm.  He is also very compliant in having his paws washed and dried after his walks and lifts his legs comically high for them to be dried off. When Luke is hungry, he will make it very clear that it is mealtime by rattling his dog dish and looking at you expectantly.   In the backyard, he like to do a swan dive off the deck where it seems like he is flying in midair.  He  loves to chase his ball and bring it back in exchange for another one.  He loves to race around the backyard and then get a reward for coming back inside.  Because he loves the backyard so much, it is only fair that his forever home have a fully fenced backyard.  Again, he has a high prey drive and likes to chase squirrels, rabbits, mice, etc.   We firmly believe that what helps Luke be such a good-boy are his regular walks, the more the better in his opinion.  His foster has been taking him on occasional runs, he has very few pit stops and loves the quicker pace.    He is a high energy boy and will require a family willing to continue his training.  If you're interested in Luke please email us to start the conversation. Please note we require an adoption application be completed before meeting any of our dogs. Luke's adoption fee is $450.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
