Phil turned 2 y/o this April and is full of energy. He enjoys running in the backyard. He also likes walks through the neighborhood and playing with his antlers and squeaky toys. He thinks he?s a lapdog and enjoys being snuggled up to you. He rings a bell at the back door when he needs to go out. He knows the commands sit, down, off (when he?s on furniture he shouldn?t be on), crate, place, shake, and free. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet.

Story
Scout is about 4-5 years old. I adopted her from a friend of mine a few years ago. She’s an extremely loyal and sweet dog. Never potties in the house or chews up any of your belongings, not much of a barker. Generally not very high energy or needy. I’ve lived in apartments since I’ve had her, which isn’t very ideal for a dog her size. She would absolutely flourish in a house with a backyard with a child or children to play with. She has a goofy personality and is well-behaved. She used to get along great with other dogs and have no issues whatsoever. However, she was attacked by an aggressive dog a while back and it sort of traumatized her a bit. For a while now, I’ve been getting her used to wearing a muzzle that prevents her from biting, but also allows her to pant and drink water. With time and patience, she definitely can learn to play nice with other dogs. I can’t take her with me where I’m moving unfortunately and don’t want to surrender her to a shelter :-(

Story
Yuki is an unbelievably sweet girl who just wants to be loved. She's sweet and gentle with all people, including small children. Unfortunately, she can be a little grumpy with other dogs, so she will need to be the only pet in her new home. Yuki was deaf since birth, but has learned several basic commands via hand signals, is food motivated and continues to learn every day. She's house-trained and simply a beautiful girl that will melt your heart. At 50 lbs., Yuki’s a perfect size … not too big, but not so small as to be “delicate”! Not only is she sweet, but also a playful and happy puppy at heart. Even though she's 5-years-old, she's still full of energy and will need a family with a yard who will make sure she gets the exercise she needs! Our Yuki truly is the sweetest and most loving dog you'll ever meet. If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Yuki is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.

Story
Sweet Sara girl is a very young 11 years! She loves to be outside - usually more than inside, although she also loves your attention, and to give kisses in return. Sara can be too rough with other dogs so would be happier and safer as the only dog in the family. She loves to run, loves to play and loves going for walks. She knows how to sit but hasn’t been taught much else, although she’s a quick learner and learns VERY quickly. Sara’s pretty good in the car, and protective of her home and her people. She will need slow introductions to strangers, but once she knows you’re safe, she’s great! She accepts women more readily than men. Sadly, Sara sees cats and small animals as prey, not as friends! Children may need to be a bit older (maybe 10 or so?), so that they can understand the need to not attempt petting at mealtime, and that Sara’s not accustomed to unwanted hugs or ear pulls! She is very affectionate toward people, but has never had the chance to learn about how unpredictable children can be! She loves to run and play outside and would love going on walks and spending time outside with her humans. She has had access to a dog door for several years. If there’s not a dog door in the home, hopefully someone is home during the day to allow her to go outside when needed. If you feel your home might be the right place for this sweet, senior gilr - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
I'm Rim (aka Fritz Von Erich) and I'm looking for my forever home. I was brought in as a stray but have settled in with my foster family. I love to play with my foster brother and sister but am also content to just be near humans or relax on my own. I love all humans and let them give me tons of attention. I am a hunter and explorer so a yard with a high fence (6 foot+ solid fence required) would be best and I will chase small (sometimes large) critters. I'm good for short bursts of energy but my endurance is not all that great. A harness would be good for me because I'm very strong  I love car rides and get super excited whenever we go places. I'm good in my crate, house trained, and know some commands.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
Hey there, I'm Junco, and I'm looking for humans of my own. The pups in my foster home are helping me settle in, there are two female dogs here one big and one small, I'm ok with both of them.  I've shown off some of my tricks like sit, shake, other paw and staying off the furniture.  If you want someone to keep you accountable for your walks I'll gently remind you by bringing you my leash, I really enjoy walks and do pretty good on the leash.  I enjoy chewing on dog toys and sometimes just relocate human things but don't chew them.  Check back as I get more time to show off my skills.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
Meet Apple! (not related to Gwyneth Paltrow) Delicious Apple is a gorgeous liver and white German Short Haired Pointer.  A typical high energy pointer, I can tell you, she is quite the hunter. She is the best frog hunter in Texas. She is always seeking birds but she just points at them. We have two birds living in a large shrub and she must stop at the bush to check the birds every five minutes. We have had her for about five weeks and she is adjusting nicely. How is she around other dogs? She was raised with her litter mates so she is used to having other dogs around. She plays hard with my three dogs and I have had no problems at all. She will need some leash training as I don’t think she was walked much. She is crate trained, however! She is on the small side for a pointer but average for a female. (Really, I think I prefer a medium-size pointer. She is so much easier to handle.) she is my little Honeycrisp! If Apple seems like the type of dog you are interested in meeting, give me a call!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
