Meet Parker, this handsome little 5 month old Dalmation mix hasnt had the best start to life. Before coming to CARE he was in a home where he wasnt given the proper puppy attention. After a bad interaction with a cat Parker's family dumped him at the city shelter. Because of this abandonment Parker has some trust issues with humans. He is very sweet but he can be a little reserved at first. He is hoping to find a patient adopter that is willing to give him the love and training that all puppies need! Parker is currently in a foster home getting spoiled and started on goodboy lessons. If you would like to find out more about Parker and speak with his foster family please fill out an application at www.caretx.org/adopt and CARE will be in contact with you soon! This dog was rescued from a kill shelter or the streets and has been evaluated for medical and temperament to prepare for a forever home and is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas* and is ready to fly to its final destination once adopted. We do not have a foster home available for Miley so she is currently being boarded at a dog ranch where she is getting along well with large and small dogs. Miley was surrendered by her owner because she cannot tolerate being alone during a work day. She will need a home where someone is around most of the day in order for her to thrive. Miley has had lots of change in her life and is a bit under-socialized. Part of it may be the trauma of being homeless, with no one to rely on. Miley would like to be the focus of attention, and be the constant companion to her special people. In her past life, she did live with children. However, we feel she would not do well with toddlers, and would require older children, at least 10 and up. Most of all she needs someone with a flexible schedule (or who works from home) who can have patience with her as she adjusts to yet another new place. Story
Gusty is six years old. We adopted her as a puppy from a group finding homes for puppies from areas with kill shelters. As a puppy she had a big yard, played great with kids and other dogs. We moved to Seattle four years ago. Since then She spends most of her day alone, inside. Our yard is tiny. The neighborhood kids have teased her by running along our fence and calling to her. She has progressively gotten more unpredictable around other dogs. Sometimes great, sometimes not. She has also started to be more protective of us when walking on the leash and had lunged at others walking past us. But she’s sweet. Lives to be scratched. Perfectly house broken. Loves the water and to swim. She does have a skin condition that can make her scratchy. We have had great success with cytopoint shots, about every four to six weeks.

My boy here Charlie has traveled across the country with me and been with me for about 3 1/2 years unfortunately his behavior towards our new puppy when it comes to us eating and giving him attention has been very poor and drastic and we also have a baby on the way and even though he does really great with kids and anyone it’s just time he finds a better home it’s also hard because my partner and I work a lot and don’t have much time to take Charlie out the amount of time that he needs every day
