Dottie is a 2 year old Pitbull mix who came to us with her puppy, Uno. Dottie is an absolute sweetheart with people of all ages, but does not do well with other dogs. She is good with cats also. She's an energetic gal who would benefit greatly from an outlet for that excess energy. She is housebroken and crate trained. Dottie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in Dottie, please email dogs@heartlandsmallanimalrescue.org or you can access an online application at www.heartlandsmallanimalrescue.org/canine-application.html

Story
Mallory is an Alaskan Malamute, born in February 2019. She weighs close to 80 pounds and came to Heartland in October 2019 with her brother Marmaduke from a breeder who was closing his business. Mallory is not fully domesticated, but she is doing well managing her potty schedule and she is quite comfortable in her indoor penned area and crate. She is not thrilled with leashing but is practicing every day! Mallory is nicely partnered with her littermate Marmaduke and a home together would be ideal, although alternatives will be considered. They both will require a home with breed experience, a large, fenced area (at least 5 feet all around), and a willingness to continue their training. We don’t know yet how she will do with other dogs besides Marmaduke, and it is highly likely that cats and small dogs in general are not an option. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative ( puppies age 7 months and older) and microchipped. A puppy's adoption fee is $250. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an online application here: www.heartlandsmallanimalrescue.org/canine-application.html

Story
Let us introduce you to the softest dog ever. Meet Maximus, a 4 yr old, 60 lb. shepherd/hound mix. Not only is Maximus handsome, he is extremely obedient and protective of his family. Maximus is also potty and crate trained and absolutely loves car rides. He was surrendered because his previous owner did not have enough time to spend with him. Maximus needs to meet new people in his house slowly, but once he knows they are safe, he is very loving. Sqeaky toys are his favorite past time.. Maximus would enjoy a fenced in yard so he can play and a quieter home would suit him best. Because of Maximus's protective nature, a quiet home without a lot of traffic would be best for him. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an online application here: www.heartlandsmallanimalrescue.org/canine-application.html

Story
Sierra is an energetic young lady. She has done very well with most of the dogs she is currently living with outside of a few alpha females. She does well with cats also. Crate training is coming along and she has started a positive improvement in house training. Although she is very energetic she is not destructive nor does she suffer from anxiety. She does need some basic command training though. I think she would do best in a structured home with kids to help keep her busy. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative (age 7 months and older) and microchipped. We do not ship or transport. A dog's adoption donation is $200. Story
Willow is a 10 month old Chihuahua mix weighing just under 20 pounds. Willow is a very shy young lady who needs a patient home that will help her become the dog she is meant to be. Willow adores the other dogs in her foster home and loves to play and wrestle with them. When not playing she is found snuggled on the couch with one or two of her friends for a nap. Willow will need a home with another dog friendly dog who likes to play. Willow enjoys going outside to play and run aroud in her fenced in yard. Potty training is also going very well for her. She has come a long way since arriving at her foster home and she makes progress daily. Willow loves toys, treats and snuggles on the couch while watching tv. When her foster mom is away, Willow is crate trained. A fenced in yard is a requirement for this young lady as she is quite shy. Going in to a new home, she will need an experienced adopter who understands shy dogs who need a bit time to adjust and acclimate to a new home.
