Story
Howdy! My name is Luke, and I'm a very sweet, loving, playful, energetic black and white 45-pound Pointer mix fella who was born in March 2016. I'm uniquely marked with a giant polka dot on my right side and another on my left shoulder, which you can see best in the attached video. My favorite things are to have my belly rubbed, to play tug-of-war with a rope, and to jog along with my mom. I enjoy Busy Bone dog treats and think it's pretty neat to run with one in my mouth, toss it up in the air, and catch it again. I'm very intelligent and have been obedience-trained, so I can sit, shake, lay down, and roll over. I'm a bit of a clumsy goof-ball who loves my mom and can be very protective of her. I was adopted from Buster's Friends as a 3-month-old puppy who had been found as an orphan and rescued. It's been a wonderful life with my mom, but unfortunately now she has to move out of state and is not able to take me with her. Because we're so bonded with each other, we're both heartbroken that now I need to be re-homed. You might say that I'm like the energizer bunny, so whoever adopts me must realize that I need lots of exercise, attention, and affection to be happy. I get along with the resident cat as well as most other dogs. I hope you'll arrange to meet me today so I can show you how I juggle my Busy Bones. Luke is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $200, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Luke, and we can arrange for you to meet him. To adopt one of our dogs, you must fill out our adoption application and be approved by one of our adoption counselors. To make the process more efficient, submit the online dog adoption application at https://www.bustersfriends.org/dog-adoption-application.

Story
Red and her sibling, Kya, were dumped in the words south of Fort Worth. They wandered into a kind soul's front yard emaciated and severely dehydrated. He took them in, fed and watered them, and called us. It would be great if Red and Kya could be adopted together but it is not mandatory. If you think you might be interested in either one or both of these beauties email us at info@muttsandmittens.

Story
Up for adoption in Texas: Cammie Marie! Cammie is 2-3 years old and 53 pounds. Cammie was an owner surrender from a shelter in Houston. All Lucky Lab really knew when we saved her, is that she was underweight, heartworm positive, and had clearly mothered a few litters of puppies in her lifetime. Over the last few months, Cammie has been treated for the heartworm disease, spayed, and gained a healthy amount of weight. Since moving in with her foster family, Cammie has really blossomed! Her favorite thing to do is to be with her people, wherever that may be. Cammie is very treat motivated and has done great with obedience training! She has learned commands such as come, sit, down, bang, kennel, and place, in a short period of time. She is starting to play fetch in the backyard but is just as happy sitting on the porch being petted. During the day, Cammie does well in her kennel. She may or may not have a track record of destroying small toys, haha, so a kennel is recommended. Cammie has done well with all adults that she has come in contact with. We think Cammie would do best in a home with no other pets, and no young children. What makes Cammie’s day is cuddling. If you are looking for a dog that will be your shadow, Cammie may be your girl! Cammie is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and ready for her forever home! Apply to adopt sweet Cammie at www.luckylabrescue.com

Story
Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Lily Grace. Lily Grace is a beautiful, sweet and loyal companion, who is about 8 years old and weighs about 60 lbs. She wants to be with you everywhere you go. She will sleep next to you while you watch TV, hang outside with you while you pull weeds, go for a ride with you in the car and will always be happy to see you when you come home. Lily has done well around children of all ages, but has not been around cats. She walks well on a leash and is good off-leash, as well. She comes right back when you call her. She has a proud little high-stepping walk. When it's bedtime, she runs to the bedroom and does this cute little pirouette in the air before landing on her bed. She is crate trained, but is trustworthy in the house and is fine staying out in the house during the day and at night. She does enjoy being the only child, but has gotten along with 7 other brothers and sisters while living in her foster home, but it took her a little time to adjust when she first arrived. Lily is in great shape for her age and has plenty of energy. She will make a great addition to any family. Lily Grace is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and housebroken.
