Story
Rocky is a failed foster that my mother and I have had since he was just 5 weeks old. He is now seven and a very sweet loving boy. However he is a very nervous and high anxiety dog who needs lots of love and attention. I am a college student in a one bedroom apartment and can no longer give him the care and love that he requires. The constant noise and people around the apartment building is very stressful for him. He is great with kids and loves/needs big fields to run in. I am hoping to find him a caring and patient home that will be able to care and give him the security that he needs to thrive and be his happy loving self.

Story
We got Beau when he was only 12 weeks old from a local family who had puppies. His birthday is 12/10/16 so he is just over 3 years old now. He is full of energy so he will need a family that has time to play and get him plenty of exercise. We had been able to send him to a doggie daycare and he loved it. He gets along great with other animals and has done wonderful with our now one year old son. Beau has separation anxiety and has not done well staying at home alone, and can be destructive. We are looking for a place that has a nice big yard for him to run around and play in while his owners are away. We are devastated to have to re-home Beau, but we know it is the best thing for everyone.

Story
Scruffy is an 8-9 year old West Highland Terrier. He weighs 25 pounds. Scruffy always has one ear up and one ear down. He does well with other dogs, cats, and kids. Unlike most Terriers, Scruffy is a quiet boy. He doesn’t bark. If you let Scruffy outside and he wants to come back in he does make the cutest little howl. He starts softly and if you don’t come open the door for him he gradually gets louder. Scruffy loves his sweaters and will proudly model the ugliest sweater. Scruffy would enjoy a home with people who are around much of the time and does need a fenced yard because he does not hear well. Scruffy is a special guy. He came into rescue from a southern shelter where he sat bald and bleeding for a month. Scruffy’s ear canals were swollen shut so he couldn’t hear and he was an itchy, hot pink, bald mess. His eyes were matted and he could not see well. Scruffy didn’t get in that condition overnight and had probably been miserable for years. Even though Scruffy was absolutely miserable he was always sweet. Scruffy is loved by many in our rescue and has had many people care for him. He has many nicknames including Sruffadupalous, and Scruffers. Scruffy’s foster family gave him daily medicated baths, eye meds and several courses of antibiotics which made him feel awful but helped his skin. Several volunteers drove him to many vet appointments including the dermatologist in Des Moines. Everyone loves this guy. Scruffy’s ear canals are open again and his ear infections are gone. He has grown most of his fur back. He may never grow the fur back under his neck and on his chest. Scruffy is allergic to his environment and does need daily meds. He takes Apoquel for his allergies and gets Tacrolimus eye drops twice a day with a moisturizing drop in between because his eyes don’t produce enough tears. He eats an Omega 3 supplement every day to help his coat and needs a bath with a medicated shampoo once a week. Scruffy has a fatty lipoma by his front leg which isn’t bothering him. Scruffy’s Apoquel costs $2.18 per day. His Tacrolimus eye drops are $48 a bottle and last about three months. His Optixcare eye gel costs $15 a tube and lasts a couple months. The love Scruffy will provide you is priceless. Scruffy is housetrained, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, heartworm tested and microchipped. Story
This little girl is Betty. She currently weighs 21 pounds. We think she is about 12 weeks old and expect her to be a large adult. Betty is an outgoing pup and loves to explore new things. She is the only pup who has a heart on her tummy. Betty, seven other puppies, and two mama dogs were dumped over a fence at a boarding facility. They reached out to our rescue for help. The two moms, Carlee and Kashi weigh 47 and 45 pounds. We don’t know which puppies belong to which mom. They were all dumped together. Betty is ready to go to her forever home. Normally when pups go to their homes they are already spayed/neutered. Because of Covid 19 the vets aren’t doing routine surgeries. Betty’s adopters will need to get her to one of our vets to be spayed when they start scheduling routine surgeries again. Her spay is included in her adoption fee. Betty is microchipped and has had her first distemper/parvo vaccination. She will need her second distemper/parvo booster around April 11th and her third booster around May 2nd. Betty also needs her rabies vaccine after she is 16 weeks old.   Betty is doing great at her house training but is a young puppy so her forever home needs to have the ability to get her out to potty every 4 hours throughout the day until she is older. Betty requires a physically fenced yard to run and play safely. If you would like to meet Betty, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org.  If you have questions about Betty please contact Rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657.  Adopters must be within a two hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Indoor homes only.  Adoption donation $250.

Story
This pretty girl is Eva, who is a mix of a Siberian Husky and a Shepherd. She is only 9 months old and weighs 43 pounds. We got Eva out of a local shelter that was closing due to the Covid-19 virus. Eva was at the shelter after she was picked up as a stray and no one came for her. Eva is very affectionate and wants to please her people. She is young and playful but also knows how be relax and be lazy indoors. She enjoys walks and needs an outlet for her puppy energy. She requires a physically fenced yard so she can run and play safely at her home. Eva gets along well with other dogs her size and she would also do fine as an only dog. She is happy to play with dogs or humans, it doesn’t matter to her, she just wants to have a good time. Her foster home said she seems to like to search for things, so maybe one of the find it games would be a good activity for her. While she is invested in pleasing her people, she hasn’t had anyone work with her on standard commands until she got to her foster home. She is now starting to learn the basics like sit. She is also still a mouthy puppy who likes to put everything in her mouth, so they are working on that. Eva and her new family would benefit from a basic obedience class or someone committed to daily short training sessions. Eva is housetrained and does well on a leash. Eva is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm tested and microchipped. She is a beautiful girl who is ready to go to her forever home. If you would like to meet Eva, please start the adoption process by filling out our adoption application on our website at www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Eva you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657 Indoor homes only. Adopters within two hours of Cedar Rapids, IA only, please. Adoption donation is $200.
