Adopted through KC pet project by my daughter who is now away at school. Bruce is an outside dog who spends most of his time in the garage. He needs a family that has time for him. He enjoys walks and playing catch. He doesn't bark at all and is easy to control. He is not an inside dog.

Story
We are all moving next month and my dad will be moving to Seattle for work and can't take him with. I can't take him because he doesn't get along with my male. He is a great pyrenees and anatolian shepherd mix. He is definitely bigger than he looks in these pictures. He enjoys being outside and he is a sweet boy and wants lots of love. He is up to date on shots but he will be due for his yearly rabies at the end of this month and I can give you the shot records. He is almost 2 years old, we got him in June of 2018 when he was 3 months old. I would suggest him going to a home with no other Male dogs and if you have smaller children he isn't necessarily careful around them he tramples my 2 toddlers all the time as he has a lot of energy and just doesn't pay attention.

Details
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Tucker is a 8 year old Chiweenie that my wife has raised since he was a puppy. He is neutered, with all shots current, as well as microchipped. He is house trained and resides primarily inside. He is a great lap dog and his massive ears allow him to give you early warning when someone approaches the door. He is really good at long walks and prefers long naps after these walks. Tucker is a very high anxiety dog and prefers a life style that is relatively laid back and stress free. Our growing family is not beneficial to Tucker and it is best that he finds a new home in which he can receive more attention that he is currently getting from us. He does ok with other dogs if they are about his size and he has had the opportunity to warm up to them. Unknown how he would act towards cats. He has never bitten our kids but he has occasionally growled when the kids kept messing with him. His perfect home would a home with older kids and a home in which Tucker will receive daily walks.

Story
Meet Belini (Bella) - Pet of the Week! Belini (aka Bella) is estimated to be about 5 years old. She was adopted from another organization about a year ago (they guessed her to be 3-4 years old at the time) and her former family brought her in to us just before the holidays to help her find a better match. Bella is a sweet dog, a very friendly girl. She does her chores quickly when let out, is happy to run around the yard awhile and then kennels up beautifully. Seems to be pretty happy to please if you have a treat. She seems a little deaf if you don't have a treat, ha! She does pull on the leash and weighs about 80 pounds, so she'll need someone who can handle her and can give her regular exercise. Call 913-684-4939 or email fortleavenworthstrayfacility@gmail.com. Featured as the Pet of the Week in the Jan. 2, 2020, issue of the Fort Leavenworth Lamp. ADOPTION APPLICATION: Please email us for an adoption application form or drop by the facility to fill one out. Thanks! Email fortleavenworthstrayfacility@gmail.com or lampphotog@yahoo.com.

Story
Meet Nala - Pet of the Week! Nala is 7 years old. She was relinquished with her buddy Daisy, a 3-year-old schnauzer mix also available for adoption. Nala is a sweetheart. She just came into the facility and seems a little unsure, so we look forward to seeing more of her personality as she becomes more comfortable. Nala came to us with a limp. It was discovered that she needs ACL surgery, which we are having done for her in mid-March. She will go into foster to recover or she could go into her new home to rest and adjust if you fall in love with her before her surgery and want to make her your own! She is a love!
