Poe Big Goofball   Poe’s Woof-Facts -Male, mixed breed, 2 years old, 55 lbs -Crate trained and house broken -Energetic and playful –Enjoys cuddles -Goofy in nature (in a good way!) -Gets along with other dogs, various sizes -Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped -Home with kids ages 12+   Quick Introduction to Poe I’m Poe, and if I were a human, I’d win so many trophies that could be displayed all over my room. You see, I love to play ball, and I’m darn good at it. As soon as I see a ball in my foster parent’s hand, I’m ready to rock! I have lots of energy, and playing ball is a great way to release it—plus, it’s super fun! After my activities, I’m ready to cuddle up and chill out on the couch, alongside my peeps. I’m a goofy boy, and my humans just love that about me. I like getting their attention, and they love giving it to me--a total home run for me!  Poe’s Background I was found walking around the city streets as a stray dog and was brought to an animal shelter. Rescue Haven came to the shelter and brought me to safety. We’re now working together to find my forever family so I’ll never have to be by my lonesome again.   Poe’s Typical Day in Foster Home Each morning, we begin our day with a walk. When we get back home, I play some ball (no surprise there, hey?). Afterward, I eat part of my breakfast while simultaneously walking around the house to see what my foster family members are doing (I like hanging out with them!), before going back to finish my breakfast. Once I’m ready, I plop myself on the couch, in anticipation of a good nap—I’m learning that cuddling next to my humans is an awesome feeling—kind of like hitting a home run. While my foster mom goes to work, I stay in my crate like a good boy. When she gets home, I’m ready to “play ball” a bit more. Then while my foster family is eating, I never beg for food—I usually just lie down near them or search for my magic ball. I take my treats gently, and I have a special blue blanket that I like to snuggle in, kind of like my Linus blankie (I’m striking a pose with it in my photo).  Living with Poe I currently live with a canine brother and sister in my foster home. I haven’t been introduced to them yet since it is good practice to give a dog time to decompress when they’re first rescued. My mom told me that I’ll be meeting them soon, and I’m excited to know that I’ll have doggie friends on my home team. I’m wondering if they’ll like to play as much as I do. We feel a home that has children no younger than 12 years old would be beneficial, only due to the fact that when I have a lot of energy, I can be a bit mouthy (kind of like a puppy), and we are working on that. I have not yet been cat tested, but we could arrange that if you have a feline in your family. Poe’s Forever Home I was dog tested when I was at the shelter, and we’re told I did well with dogs my size, as well as with a Chihuahua. Therefore, I can be the only dog, or have canine companions, in my forever home. We feel an active family would be ideal since I’m energetic. I’ve been learning how good it feels to be cuddled up on the couch with humans, and I’m looking forward to continuing that experience with my forever family. Are you looking forward to giving a doggie the love and attention he truly deserves? If so, please fill out an adoption application and ask for Poe. If it’s meant to be, it will be a great score for all of us!

Sweeter than Sugar! Sweetie Sweet as Sugar Sweetie’s Woof Facts  (Instagram hashtags #savingsweetie #adoptahottie) Female, Rottie Hound mix, 8 years old, 56 lbs Sweet as sugar -- loves everyone! Super smart, great learner Medium energy level – 20 minutes of walk or play, then she’s ready to relax Walks well on the leash Crate trained, Housebroken Toy-a-holic – likes to turn anything into a toy Thinks children are awesome – hasn’t been around tiny tots yet but can be assessed in that environment   Quick Introduction to Sweetie I’m the sweetest girl around – and my name even says so! Many things about me cause people to flock to me. I’m the type of girl who will make you laugh with my silly antics. And as your best friend, you can feel comfortable telling me all of your secrets, and I promise to keep them deep within my soul. I’m super smart and a quick learner, and I feel really proud when I understand exactly what you’re trying to teach me. I’m coming out of my shell more and more each day, putting all my trust in the peeps who care for me. Oh, and get this (you probably can relate), I’m not a morning person – I like to sleep in -- so just wake me up when you’re ready to start your day, and we can go for a nice walk together, enjoy some playtime with my toys, then enjoy our breakfast! And when you’re ready to leave for work, please give me some treats and a tasty Kong, and I’ll be just fine in my crate for about eight hours until you get home. Then we can enjoy a nice evening together, filled with love, laughs, toys and the secrets you want to share about your day!   Sweetie’s Background My life prior didn’t have one bit of sweetness to it. I lived outside all year long, 24/7, in a car lot in a scary inner city. In bad weather my owner had allowed me to sleep in a car. A good samaritan then became aware of my situation and saw that I was living in dangerous conditions. She would visit and feed me through a fence.... she became my savior! She noticed I was getting very thin, and I was also starving for affection. It took a whole year, but she finally convinced my prior owner to surrender me over to her. I then went to live in a temp foster home, and just when I thought life was getting better, the resident dog did not welcome me at all and actually bit me. Ugh, the bite got infected, and when my savior put out a plea on Facebook for the need for help for my medical care, Rescue Haven jumped at the chance. To no surprise, they found I had been neglected medically and bred multiple times. The Rescue Haven veterinary staff gave me the best care around, I’ve gained wait and am thriving in my new foster home. And all I can say is… “How sweet it is to be loved by you… and you… and you”!   Sweetie’s Forever Home My personality will enable me to be a good fit in many home environments. I’m looking for someone who will provide me with guidance as I learn so many new things that this new world has to offer me. I love-to-learn and love-to-love, so we can be an amazing team -- sharing a life filled with silly antics, walks and playtime, chilling out on the couch, continued learning, and of course, sleeping-in (especially on weekends)! If you agree that there ain’t nothing like a hound dog, please fill out an adoption application and ask for Sweetie!

Story
Domino Blanket Thief   Domino’s Woof-Facts (Instagram hashtags #domigoat #ohdomino) Male, Great Dane, Aussie, Beagle, and Rottweiler mix (as per my DNA test!), 8 years old, 45 lbs. Calm demeanor with a playful side Loves people, car rides, fetch, lounging and a good scratch! Has a deformed snout (hey, it worked for Barbra Streisand) and an under-bite that’s too cute for words! Dog and cat friendly; kid friendly with some precaution Housebroken Would love a fenced-in yard for playtime together     Quick Introduction to Domino Hi there, I’m Domino! Those closest to me have given me a pet name -- it’s “Domigoat”. Reason being, I have a beyond-adorable under-bite, a silly playfulness that resembles a goat, and when I’m excited, I perform a small, quick hop with just my front half along with a 360-spin. I’ll admit, goats are utterly precious, so I think of this pet name as a fantastic compliment. I absolutely love people, going on car rides, playing fetch with my tennis ball, and sleeping in a comfy bed. I’m also an expert at giving light-and-friendly love-nibbles (instead of licks) – I know just the amount of nibble to give. And I love nothing more than to squeeze my way in for a good scratch from my humans. Lately, I’ve been reading about this craze of “doing yoga with goats”, where a yoga teacher leads a class of humans while goats interact with the yogis . All I have to say about that is: sounds amazing, so what about doing yoga -- or just hanging out in every-day life if that’s your preference -- with me? Each day, right in our own house -- no need to go to the countryside to be with real goats (not that there’s anything wrong with that)… you can share your life with me, your very own “Domigoat”.    Domino’s Background I had a family in my past life, living with my human mom and two other dogs. My mom came upon hard times, had to move suddenly and could only find habitation arrangements to accommodate two of her dogs. Since the other dogs were both older and ill, she made the difficult decision of surrendering me to a rescue group in hopes to find me a great home, while she continued to care for my older and sick furry siblings. The goodbye was very emotional, we still miss each other, rightfully so, but I’ve settled wonderfully into my foster home with Rescue Haven Foundation, and we are beyond excited to find my forever-after. This will make all of us, including my prior mom, truly happy.     Domino’s Typical Day in Foster Home My days consist of either accompanying my foster mom and sister to work, where I am adored by all who meet me at their office, or staying home and relaxing. On the days I stay home, around lunch time, human friends visit to say “hi” and take me out to do my business (just so you know, I can make the full work-day without having to pee/poop, but if my foster mom wants to offer me this extra human touch, I’ll take complete advantage of it). Each day, we go for early morning and evening walks, with one last walk right before bedtime. I typically encourage my humans to let me sleep in bed, and sometimes I do win. We’ve found that I love rearranging my bed and blankets; sometimes I’ll drag them clear across the room until they’re “just right”. I admit, I may occasionally use them as a pacifier, arranging them in his mouth until they’re “just right” too, at which point I doze off happily and peacefully (maybe I got that skill from my goat ancestors, lol?!?). My foster family simply laughs at my antics – which warms my heart!   Living with Domino I’m both dog and cat friendly, with proper introduction, which is standard. I currently live in a foster home with one shepherd mix, one lab/pit mix and several cats. I have mild food/resource guarding behavior with both animals and humans; to date, I'm very appropriate when expressing my discomfort so I have only growled, never bitten, so this would need to be monitored.   Domino’s Medical Not sure if you can tell from my photos, but I have an (adorably) deformed snout which may require some special considerations as it affects the way I eat and drink somewhat. My foster mom will tell you how she prepares my food which is easy peasy!  I may also have small, undetectable seizures. Medical testing for this has been inconclusive so far, and no treatment for seizures have been prescribed at this time since they are so mild and infrequent.   Domino’s Forever Home My foster mom says that I’m as low maintenance of a dog as they come, aside from what’s mentioned above. We feel I’d be a good fit into various types of family situations. Having a fenced-in yard would be ideal so we can play together (yoga not required). So if you find me and my under-bite irresistible, please fill out an adoption application with RHF. I’ll drag my blankets and bed straight over to you, and each night, we can say maaaaa-maste before we tuck ourselves in for a good night’s rest, happily and peacefully.

Angie Mellow Yellow   Angie’s Woof-Facts  (Instagram hashtags #adoptangie #angelicangie)   -Female, Lab/Greyhound Mix, approximately 6 years old, 60 lbs. -Super sweet & mellow nature -Good with people, children of all ages, cats, & dogs -Loves to be petted & receive belly rubs -Currently being treated for diabetes  -Crate trained; making good progress on potty training     Quick Introduction to Angie I’m Angie, and I’m as sweet as an angel. I love to snuggle by your side and am perfectly happy just hanging around the house with my humans. I’ve been doing great in my foster home and am being well cared for there. I was staying at Rescue Haven Foundation’s (RHF) vet prior, where the staff was amazing and helped me lots. Now we are urgently searching for an adopter, so I can ultimately find a home that I can call my own. My easy-going nature enables me to be a really good patient as I’m being treated for diabetes. You’ll never hear a complaint from me, and we can easily show you what to do to help continue my care. My daily routine includes going out to do my business as needed, eating my meals and getting my meds. Other than that, I’m perfectly happy hanging around the house with my peeps or chillin’ in my crate when my peeps are out of the house.     Angie’s Background A Good Samaritan contacted RHF about a dog who they had witnessed was emaciated, filthy and in desperate need of medical care – that dog was me. When RHF received the call, they immediately stepped into action. I was brought to RHF’s veterinary partner and have been receiving treatment for diabetes ever since, plus getting lots of love from all the volunteers and staff. That Good Samaritan was an angel on my shoulder, and now I’m being cared for by the angels of RHF.   Angie’s Medical I’m a go-with-the-flow type of gal, so I receive my medicine like a champ. I get insulin once a day and I sleep right through it . Don’t fear, you’ll have the medical staff from RHF’s vet partner by your side to provide support and answer any questions.   Angie’s Forever Home I am beyond grateful for the love and care I have been receiving, and we want to continue my journey to health and unconditional love in a forever home. Are you interested in being an integral part of our journey? I can be your loyal companion as we live a life of leisure together, lounge around the house and binge watch some of our favorite shows. Please fill out an adoption application if you’d be interested in having me become part of your forever family. And please make sure you note that you are interested in Angie, an angel among us.
