Story
SWM seeking another special soul to fill his life, one who touches all the colors of his rainbow. Just turned one year old, I enjoy long walks on the beach, in the park, or wherever, as long as I'm with you. I prefer early morning snuggles, the kind where my body can lay across yours, although snuggles all day works too, if you're into that. I am an avid bird watcher; I can easily identify which birds are for chasing and which are for stalking (ahem, watching). A southern gentleman, I enjoy the heat and can often be found basking in the sun. I am quite the bone connoisseur, preferring the taste of a meaty marrow bone over a simple (and possibly dangerous) rawhide. I am one of those rare guys who is in touch with my feelings, sensitive, and an excellent listener - even though I am deaf (it’s ok – I’m learning hand signals!). More than a wee bit tender at heart, I am truthful, kind, gentle, and a just a bit ornery (if I'm being honest). I am also not a fan of being in my crate or left alone for long periods at a time, but I do enjoy going to daycare. Above all the things I fill my time with, I like to spend all of my time with the one I love. Your life will be far from boring if you choose me; I will keep you on your toes and make you laugh. I'm a real character, a diamond in the rough, and I want to make YOU my one and only. How about it? Ollie is available for adoption through The Rescue Inn. Story
Meet Lucy! She is a 7-year-old Cocker Spaniel who has spent her enough tire life as a puppy mill breeding mamma. She is now in a loving foster home and finally experiencing the life she has always deserved. Lucy is learning about all of the great things that freedom has to offer – soft dog beds, good food, a warm home, and gentle snuggles. Lucy is quite shy yet, but is making progress every day. She will need a patient, understanding family that is willing to give her time to settle in and bond with them. Despite her past she is as sweet as can be! Lucy is good with other dogs and cats, so she wouldn’t mind sharing her new home with some siblings. She will also need a fenced yard where she can safely exercise and explore - walking on a leash is just too scary right now. Lucy will make a loving companion, if someone will just give her the chance. Please email Teresa at foreverhome4paws@gmail.com if you are interested in giving Lucy the love and attention of a forever family that she has missed out on for so long.

Story
Hi there! I’m River and I’m looking for my furever home. Might it be yours? I was found all alone and wandering the streets as a stray in the freezing weather. Can you imagine?? Then, the great folks at The Rescue Inn gave me second chance and said that I could come hang out with them until my family comes along. How cool is that? So, let me tell you a bit about myself…I am around 5 years old and around 45 lbs (but I need to add some healthy weight). They said that I am something called a Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier mix. Sounds good to me! My hobbies include getting belly rubs, running around the backyard, and then basking in a sun spot where I can nap (and maybe snore). And boy, do I love to cuddle with my people!! In fact, I love my people so much that I would prefer not to share them with any canine siblings. I know that's a lot to ask, but I promise that I'm worth it! My life until now has not been easy but my foster family promised that it will only get better from here. I can’t wait to be someone’s best friend. If I could just have a forever home, I promise to be a loving companion for years to come! But don’t take my word for it…contact my adoption consultant, Heidi, at adelheid99@hotmail.com and she can give you all of the details. My bags are packed and I’m ready to go home for good!

Story
Lucy has been with me and my family for about 7 years now. She lives with 2 other small dogs. Over the years my children have moved out and I recently divorced and sold my house for a condo. Lucy is a sweet dog but has lots of anxiety. Lucy is very uneasy around new people but will warm up with time and patience. Once she is comfortable she is happy to just lay on your lap and snuggle. Moving from a big house with a yard to a space with no yard and more activity has been hard on her. Although I love her and She is welcome to stay in my new home I feel she would be better off in a home with less activity and a yard.

Story
NO LONGER TAKING APPLICATIONS AT THIS TIME: Meet Zeke he is approximately 8 months old. He is part of The Noble 19. Zeke is an easy going, affectionate guy with a goofy side. He likes to snuggle, is still learning how to play with dog toys, and takes the biggest stretches before settling in for his frequent naps- and he will nap pretty much anywhere you let him! He’s been equally a fan of the laundry basket and bathtub as he is a soft bed or his crate to snooze in. He walks nicely on a leash, although he is still a bit spooked by the sounds and traffic of new environments on walks. He takes some time to warm up to the new things. He is starting to enjoy short crate sessions for feeding and naps. He goes to the door to be let outside for potty breaks, has pretty good house manners (hasn’t been destructive or jumping on furniture - does get curious about the trash and counter tops!) and he is learning his basic commands. He takes treats gently, seems to be motivated by both food and positive attention, and has shown no aggressive or guarding behaviors. He is a little timid and anxious to be alone right now. He gives lots of love, provides plenty of laughs and will be a real gift to add to the right family!
