Please read this listing in full before responding! You must meet these 5 requirements to proceed: 1. Own your home 2. Have a dog of similar size as a companion 3. Be financially stable and able to follow up with UC Davis cardiology 4. Be retired or work from home, being home more than 12 hours a day 5. Be able and willing to give medication twice a day 6. No young children under 9yrs in the home IF ALL 6 DO NOT APPLY TO YOU, this is not the dog for you! It you can and will do the above 5 things, proceed in reading. Dudley is almost 1 yr old and came to us with a severe heart condition called a PDA which required balloon valvioplasty heart surgery just as they would do in humans. He is on medication to regulate his heart twice a day. The cost of the medication is about $8 a month, but will require check ups with the cardiologist annually. He LOVES other dogs, in fact he prefers them over people. He can be very shy with men, and take a while to warm up. He has gotten pretty comfortable meeting new women and loves his foster mom and her daughter. We ask for no young children as he doesn't do well being startled, it's not good for his heart either. He is crate trained and house trained. He likes going on short walks, no exhilarating exercise for him. He is a super sweet guy who will do 'drive bys' for attention but would really rather hang out with his dog friend. If you think you may be his forever home. Please fill out an adoption application on our website www.pitsrus.org We will not reply to anything already covered here, his foster home loves him and is in no rush to move him, we will be very picky about where he goes! His adoption fee is $550. Which includes all vaccines, deworming, flea prevention, microchip, neuter, and a month supply of medication.

Batman 10 year old German Shepherd, approximately 75 lbs Neutered House and leash trained Great with other dogs, but no cats We have everything needed to care for him: bed, bowls, food, lots of toys, etc. We rescued Batman a year ago from being euthanized. We are being relocated overseas with the military and cannot take him with us. He is a kind and loyal dog, very protective. He loves to be with someone wherever they go. Suffers from allergies for which we give him Apoquel through Aggie Animal Clinic. We hope to find him a good home. Any questions please feel free to ask.

Story
Dart is almost 4 year old male. We adopted him when he was 2 from a foster who took him from a home that did not have time for him and unfortunately that has become our situation as well with job change relocating and growing family his energy level and need for extra attention to run that energy out we don’t have that time anymore. He is a good dog and we love him but it is not fair to him to not get the time and love he needs. He loves people and good with kids but can sometimes forget his size. He is great for a active person or family that has the space and time.

Story
Max is an amazing 2yr. old Border Collie that we adopted when he was just 12 weeks old. Max has been raised in a home with no other pets, however he interacts well with other dogs at the dog park. While we do not have a cat at home, the stray cats in our neighborhood seem to stress him out. Max has three children that live in the house with him and does great with all ages. Max's new owners needs to have the space to let him run or the time to take him out to run and play. Max is handsome, full of energy. He loves to run and play at the dog park. He fetches well and is learning to play with the Frisbee. Max is great in the water and love to camp and swim in lakes.

Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
I adopted Layla in January from the Sacramento SPCA. They suspected she was 5 years old, but she may be older. We established a very strong bond immediately. She is sweet, affectionate, somewhat lazy, and remarkably quiet. She likes to play with other dogs and humans alike, she is great with kids, she doesn't shed and is very nonreactive. She seems to be deaf, meaning she doesn't respond to any noises or verbal commands but does respond to visual commands (sit, down, stay). I love this dog terribly, so it pains me to create this profile, but I am beginning to travel extensively as my business continues to grow, so I have come to accept she may be better off in a home where she can enjoy more consistency and attention.

Bull Terrier Shepherd (Unknown Type)

Male, Adult
Davis, CA
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
I adopted Jax from a local shelter about 2 years ago when he was about 5 1/2-6 years old (based on shelter records) so he’s around 7 years old now. He has an abundance of energy, which means he would like a large yard where he can run around and play. He gets along well with most dogs; I’ve noticed he gets along best with small-medium females and rarely with males of dominant breeds. He’s very loving, enjoys a good snuggle, LOVES tennis balls (but will try to eat it). He doesn’t like being alone very much so a family home with older kids would be good for him or even somewhere with someone home most times of the day. His predatory instincts are very high with small animals like squirrels and cats. Indoors he listens to commands and is treat motivated, but once outside he’s easily distracted, so he’ll need leash training and a patient handler. He can be the perfect family dog for the right home!
