Story
Bear is a very energetic dog. When we bought him they told us he was a German shepherd/collie mix. Our family is very busy and lives in town. He does not get to run and work like the breed needs to. He is loyal and protective. We have 3 children under the age of 10 and he has done good with them but I think he would do better with teens or adults. He likes to chase our cat and will not leave him alone- so I think a home with out cats would be better. I think a home on the farm would be the best where he can work and run. He is protective so I think he would make that farm a safer place. We have started training him- he knows how to sit, come, and lay down. He is house trained.

Story
Brian is a special needs boy. He has separation anxiety. He cannot be left alone or he gets extremely upset. He is VERY loveable and is very obedient. The problem we have is with our other male dog. They do not get along at all. Brian is fine with our female pitbull and female Chihuahua. He has no problems with our cats. He loves kids and people. He gives a little growl at first but he gladly sniffs ypu and he's your friend forever after that!!! As his new owner you would need to be with him 24/7. And I mean take him with you EVERYWHERE or have someone with him. He needs someone who will be able to help him get over this. My husband and I have made some improvements but Brian needs more than we can give him. If it weren't for our other male we would not be finding Brian another home. Our other male has become depressed since he is not the top dog anymore. This is not fair to him or Brian. We try to show love to them equally but it's not the same. So much more to express...contact me

Story
*If you are interested in one of the puppies, please visit emmetcountyanimalshelter.org to fill out an application.  Do you need to bring the luck of the Irish into your life?  This St. Patty’s Day bring home one of these puppies and your life will instantly become brighter.  These pups were born January 23 and are ready to head home.  They are German Shepherd mixes and there are three boys and one girl.  These pups are all very sweet and love attention.  Callum is the most dominant and will need an owner who enjoys that dynamic.  Ronan was the smallest of the pups when they arrived and he was also the most laid back.  However, he has grown faster than his siblings and is now one of the biggest.  He is also more outgoing and playful now and would fit in many homes.  Finn and Erin are also very sweet, however we have homes already selected for these two pups and they are just waiting until the pups turn 8 weeks old to take them home.  The adoption fee for each pup is $300 with an additional $200 spay/neuter deposit.  They will be as current on vaccinations as their age allows and are microchipped.

Story
***If you are interested in adoption please go to our website at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org to fill out the Dog Adoption application***  Zipitty do da....Zipper Do want to love you!  Zipper is a sweet guy that came to us as an owner surrender when he lost his human.  This guy seems to get along with everyone.  He was in extreme need of a dental to help him feel better but this pretty pretty boy is a real gem.  Zipper might be an older dog at about 10 years of age but he has a lot of love left and is really quite spunky. He has a heart murmur and will be on medication for that for the remainder of his life so make sure that you are willing to have that added expense (approximately 50 cents per day) He is very hard of hearing so some patience and creativity with communication is necessary.  Zipper is vaccinated, neutered and micro-chipped and he has recently had his teeth done too so he is really ready set to go find his new FOREVER home!  Zipper's adoption fee is $200.00

Story
***If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org for the Dog Adoption application*** Nugget is looking for a female only home to grow in! Nugget has been let down by people a few too many times. Due to this she is slow to trust women and is terribly afraid of men. When Nugget came to foster she was completely shut down and wouldn't let anyone touch her. It was about two months before she was able to accept a pet without flinching hard, some days she still does. When it is just a female in the house she will come out of her kennel and play or lay on the floor. As soon as a male enters she returns to hiding in her kennel, she will bark at men and run past them but refuses to trust them. Nugget has shown that she is funny and smart while still maintaining her comfortable distance. She likes to explore with her mouth. She loves to hoard toys and snatch up all the blankets she can. She will occasionally approach and smell women if they're still. Her fosters believe if she was in a home with only women she would become much more comfortable with time as she wouldn't always be waiting for a man to show up. Nugget will need a home that is willing to wait until she decides she is safe and comfortable enough to start checking things out and then start working with her in small slow ways and kind gestures. She would also probably do best in a home with a confident, kind dog to show her the ropes and build her up. A securely fenced in yard is a necessity for this girl as she will be uncomfortable on a tie out but has previously been known to escape unsecured yards. Nugget is spayed, vaccinated and up to date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $150.00

Story
***If you are interested in adoption please go to our website at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org to submit the Dog Adoption application*** This big beautiful baby girl is Diamond and she is appropriately named because she has a sparkling personality. Sadly Diamond has bounced far too many times in her life. In her 10 years of life, she has had 3 homes that we are aware of and possibly more. We know that all of those were circumstances that were not her fault. So right now Diamond is in our care in a foster home that says she's one of the most perfect dogs they have ever had. This wonderful girl really deserves a stable forever home where she can be adored and cherished forever. Diamond loves to go on a leisurely walk and we are watching her food intake as this beauty has put on a few too many pounds for her frame. She loves to nap in the sun and cuddle with whomever is available. As expected with her breed she gets most of her joy from being with humans. She is kennel trained and house trained. Gets along great with everyone and is genuinely just a precious girl!  Diamond's adoption fee is $175.00 and She is spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. If you think our little piglet looks like a princess and can provide the security and stability this girl deserves submit an application.
