Story
Bella is happy, friendly, gentle 2 1/2 year old girl who loves older children, MALE dogs only, cats that are used to dogs, car rides, walks, sitting in your lap cuddling, and being your best friend. Bella's mom recently had to move back home where her mom already had the city's legal number of dogs so Bella is looking for a new family to love and be loved by. She has a truly excellent disposition and will be your best friend for life. She needs at-least an hour or two of exercise a day, and an experienced owner. If you live in mid-Michigan, have a securely fenced yard (no e-fences!) and have the room in your heart and home please contact us.

Story
Meet Tyler. He is a recent stray that was never claimed. He is a sweet and friendly boy! He can be energetic and will need a little training. He appears to get along with other dogs. He hasn't been tested with cats yet. He appears to be around 3 years old. This dog is currently residing at Downriver Central Animal Control (DCAC). As soon as room is available this dog will be transferred to the Wyandotte Animal Adoption Center. If interested, please contact us at WACvolunteers@gmail.com or submit an adoption application at https://wacshelter.com/adopt-a-dog/ Specific questions? Please email us at wacvolunteers@gmail.com. We cannot guarantee phone messages will be answered in a timely manner, so please email (or Facebook message) if you are genuinely interested in adopting! Most of the dogs that end up in shelters are mixed breeds that can have 2 to 10 different breeds in their DNA. All of them deserve the chance to be loved for their individual personalities, sociability, and how they will be with their new owners and other family pets and not judged by a specific breed. The breed listed is only the best guess of the shelter volunteers. The dogs/puppies that are posted are available unless it is stated 'adopted'. Our adoption fees are posted on our home page. You must be at least 18 years old to apply. The application can be downloaded as well on our homepage for your convenience. To apply, please send an email to: wacvolunteers@gmail.com. IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: We will make every attempt to contact approved applicants within 5 business days of application submission (M-F), but this will depend on the number of applications received. Please understand that by answering the questions does not guarantee the adoption of the pet, nor are you obligated to adopt the pet. We adopt to homes that are best fits for our animals' needs, and not on a first-come, first-served basis. If you currently own a dog or have a history of dog ownership, you must provide a vet reference for your application to be processed. If you are considering adopting a dog/puppy, please bring a collar and leash. Adoption fee: $95 (cash only). This includes spay/neuter, first distemper vaccine, and rabies vaccine & heartworm test if old enough. Hours for Adoptions: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 5:30pm to 7:30pm Saturday: 10am to 2pm The Wyandotte Pound is located on 1170 Grove Street (between 11th and 13th) in Wyandotte, MI. Story
Zeus resides at his foster family's home. Please e-mail info@sheltertohome.com for an application, more information or to set up an appointment to meet him. 2 year old Zeus is a happy 80 pound boy who came to us in January. He had Entropian, severe ear infections, and skin issues. We have come a long way since January! His eyes were successfully corrected with surgery and our Dermatologist has determined that the ear and skin issues are due to allergies. To prevent these issues from coming back, Zeus will need to have an allergy shot given at home every 2 weeks. The approximate cost for the shots is $350 per year. Weekly to bi-weekly baths using a hypoallergenic shampoo are also required to help keep the allergies from becoming a problem. Zeus was tested and we know that he is allergic to cat dander, grass pollen, fall weeds, dust mites and tree pollen. He will not be adopted to anyone who has cats since we know this will cause him problems. Zeus loves taking baths! Currently we use the Pet Supplies Plus self serve bath station. He also loves long walks, playing fetch, and earning treats. We have been working on basic commands, he is food motivated so rewarding with treats work great! He is crate trained, stays in it during the day while we work and at bed time also. Zeus has gone to daycare with other dogs and lives with two other dogs in his foster home. Daily exercise and older children are recommended for Zeus due to his size and playfulness. A fenced yard is required and he is not a good fit for someone in an apartment or condo. Adoption fee is $175.00 **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**

Story
Jackson was surrendered by his owners when they realized they were not interested in raising a puppy. He was never given the guidance a young dog needs until the shelter volunteers took over his care. A very painful medical condition was also blatantly ignored by his owners.. Non-profit Pound Pals Downriver heard he needed help and funded the surgery he needed. A congenital deformity caused his eyelashes to turn in, constantly scratching his eyes. Imagine what that felt like... Now this happy boy is very affectionate, loves walks, and REALLY loves playing fetch. Jackson is not really experienced with other dogs and can be selective about that. Due to his medical procedures, he has been a shelter pup for several months. Jackson is now about one year old. Jackson would do best with an athletic (active) family or individual who has had previous experience training a dog. ALL ANIMALS LISTED AS ADOPTABLE ARE AVAILABLE TO BE ADOPTED.
