Story
Meet Sabrina JuM Name: My name is Sabrina and I am gonna put a super secret love spell on you. Ooops, I guess it’s not super secret anymore. Likes: Cronchy water bottles are my favorite toy. Plus they are free toys so you save money. You know what, maybe one day, we can take a field trip to the Plastic Recycle plant and I can jump into the water bottles like a jumpy ball pit, but with water bottles…ooooohhh we should do that. Breed mix: My paperwork says “Shepherd mix”, but the ladies think I might have some Heeler because of my white speckle accents here and there. I have the darlingest little bat like ears that get bigger and bigger every day. I am size medium and 1-2 years old. Social Skills: I am shy but I like dogs and kids. I have not met any cats, but I really should get one, all girls named Sabrina should have a nice black kitty to pal around with. I am learning house skills like potty training. I like to play with my foster brother Clark and I share my food with him and everything, I am sooooo nice. Basics: Sabrina GDR-A-2009 -female, Heeler/Shepherd, medium, 1 year 5 months (in March), black with some white speckles, shy but sweet, really loves to play with other dogs, a very nice girl. Story
Meet Daisy aka Dancer I’m in a Foster Mom’s house, but honestly, it feels more like a couples retreat or anniversary cruise because I’m doing all sorts of activities with my new Boxer beau Harley. He’s become my automuttic bestie. We could prolly go on the Newlywed Game and put all the other couples to shame. We sunbathe, veg out on the couch and we are prolly going to play canasta next, once we find out what canasta means. I’m not getting as attached to my new boo Harley as it would appear though, honestly, I’m a bit of a trollop and will hang out with any dog. Don’t worry, I’m spayed so it’s a completely puptonic relationship. I mean I haven’t worked out any ship names yet, like Darley or Haisy, look, we’re no Brangelina or Bennifer, but honestly, those couples weren’t good role models. It’s not just dogs that become the object of my affections, I will show my belly to any human for rubs. I get along all humans even kids of humans, babies of humans, and litterally ANY human so making new friends anywhere I end up will be easy for me. I will show my belly to everyone and anyone even if they don’t like bellies. I even passed my cat test. Cats, dogs, humans and probably even hippopotamuses would be my friend. You are prolly wondering how I got this pretty white coat with sneaky spots and grey accents. I’m a 1 and 1/2 of a year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix and that’s likely where my coordinated coat eye combo came from. I’m house and crate trained overnight and short spurts while Foster Mom is out and about. When I’m not paling around with my Boxer bud, I spend my time staying in shape by chewing on..... my chew toys, of course, sure only on my human approved chew toys. Chew toys are a must otherwise one of your shoes may have to act as an alternative during my chew sesh and I’m going to go out on a limb here and say no buddy wants that. Now I need to go play charades or twister with my hunny bun Harley, but you go ahead and complete the application for me. GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Story
Hi- My name is Franky. A nice lady found me out in her yard one HOT summer Texas day. She was very concerned because I was panting a lot and was super skinny. I am glad that lady found me because she got me to some wonderful place where they rescue homeless dogs like me. I was a little shy of my foster siblings and foster mom at first. But foster mama kept giving me two meals a day and made sure I got baths and smelled clean. Over a couple of weeks I started to get some meat on my bones and getting comfortable with my new surroundings. They had this thing called a doggy door. I wasn't sure what it was at first but now I am a pro at using it. Once I am shown (and rewarded) on where I need to go potty- I do it all the time. I am very treat and food oriented so you will find me sitting like a good boy waiting for a treat or while you cook waiting for you to drop some human food for me to pick right up. I do well with dogs that are my size or bigger than me. I am a submissive little boy, BUT I do not like to be around other submissive dogs. I prefer my buddies to take the lead on that one. I am not much a cuddle buddy to be honest, but I do like to be in position to see my human and be around them as much as possible. At night, my foster mom has a crate for me. When she starts turning the lights down low, I know its bed time and I hop right in without being asked. I am a good boy and can even hold my potty all night! Since my foster mom has had me, she's fed me real well and I now weigh 13 lbs! Since I was on my own for a while, we don't know how old I am, but the folks at the vet think I am about 5-6 years old, which for a pup like is like being a teenager! Story
Meet Patsy JR Name: Patsy. Favorite Self Help Book: The Art of Emuttional Muttnipulation: How to get your new owner to do your bidding by using the power of your cuteness. Age/Weight/Breed: I am a female, 2 year old, 45 pound playful Pitbull mix. Likes: I adore playing with the older kids that live at my Foster House and playing with fuzzy tennis balls and the rest of my toys. I also like treats! Something to Brag About: I walk really good on a leash. Not every dog can claim that! Plus I am house and crate trained. Dislikes: I do get intimuttdated by bigger dogs. So Foster Mom says I would need to do a meet and greet with any dog that I might have to live with. I lived here with a medium girl dog, but she got adopted and now I don’t have friends to play with. Final Ask: My main adoration is for humans. So if you are a human that would like a lone wolf but less hairy choose me. Maybe you want to be a one dog home and not collect dogs like potato chips, I would be a great choice! But if you do have a dog and don’t mind having the patience to let me give them a good sniffaround first, that would work too! GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Story
Meet Koby JuM Name: My name is Koby. Favorite Outfit: I prefur to wear just a tie because I am very confident with my body image. But if I had to wear an entire outfit I would choose a classic white and baby blue Seersucker suit to keep it breezy on these hot summer days while I partake in activities like hiking in the mountains or strolling by the sea. Age/Weight/Breed: I am young enuff to still have enuff pep in my step to enjoy activities, but old enuff to know words like “sit” and “shake” at about 5 years old. I only weigh 50 pounds, but my focus is quality not quantity. I am a Dutch Shepherd and Pitbull mix with a brindle coat and distinkguished silver fibers on my muzzle. Favorite Golden Girl: I am going to choose Blanche Deveroux, as I know how it is to feel like everyone is jealous of me all the time due to my fine looks. For this reason, I need slower intros to male dogs, but LOVE the females right off. Best Qualities: Non-borker, non-jumper, non-annoyer. What Really Chaps His Hide: My general temperament is happy, easy going, dang cheerful really, like sunshine beams jumping off my teeth. But people or other dogs near my food really chaps my hide. I use my grrrrrrr to tell them to back off. I have never snapped at any dogs or people, most have understood that grrrrr means, “back the heck up, this is mine”. I am improving on my food guarding every day as I learn that food is in copious amounts now and not something I have to struggle to protect. The Irony: Oddly enuff, even though I protect my dinner, I am ever so gentle when taking a treat from a human fingertip. I really LOVE people. Favorite Fictional Character: Curious George. I too am curious and love to monkey around. I would totally also escape the zoo to sniff around the big city. I love to go on explorations! We could go on car rides to explore places, I love car rides. Medical Update: I failed my heartworm test! No fair, I didn’t even get to study. It was a pop quiz! Missus Volunteer said it was not a surprise, lots of Texas dogs get worms in their heart because of mosquitoes. I already received my treatment and I am resting up as the injection clobbers the heck out of those worms. I will be good as new and hope to pass my follow up exam. Final Ask: I was an outdoor dog before and it was sad because I really wanted to be with my people. Missus Volunteer told me a bedtime story that was all about smart people that keep their pets inside the house. I was like whaaaatttttt? I am really really really hoping that is a true story. Can I come live in your house? GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Story
Meet Adam TatG (made an amazing comeback from scrawny to svelte, but doesn’t make a great first impression due to awkward initial shyness, he’s like the Kristen Stewart of dogs) Voted Most Likely Too: I clearly win Most Photogenic doggie at all the adoption events, but I sure wish the prize was a family and not just constant applause. Likes: Dog parks, car rides, going on sniffathons, relaxing in bed, cuddles, being your shadow, other dogs, people, supervising your bathroom visits…stealing your food from the table when you turn around (pretend you did not read that last part). A goooood back scritchin and full body massage, but who doesn’t? Age/Weight/Breed: I am a SILLY Billy, but my name is Adam and I am a Dogo Argentino/Pitbull mix. I only weighed 40 pounds when I was picked up from the City of San Antonio shelter, but now I am back up to a hunky chunky 85 pounds. I am somewhere between 4-5 years old. Best Skill: Doing zoomie spinny circles, it is a complicated move, but I am very goodest at it, the best really. Life Tip: When you can’t find a pillow, use another dog’s butt, dog butts are very soft and make great pillows. Favorite Cliché: You know that ole cliché, you cannot judge a book by its cover. I totally agree. To truly judge a book, you need to nibble it, chew on a few pages. When I first got outta the shelter, I was very hungry and chewing on everything, but I have stopped that nonsense, as long as you give me TOYS! Activity Level: I would thrive in a home with a yard for play time, but also a huge couch for my cat naps…er uh, dog naps in my case. I am strong on a leash, but Foster Mom says I am NOT “the worst” she has experienced. Socialability: I am in a Foster Home with other dogs, but did do slow intros. I do great at public places like dog parks, but I become more protective when at home. I am shy at first with people, but if you exchange treats for my love, I will take that trade and then you get to see my goofy ball side. I have been a good boy around kids. So far the only command I know is SIT. I hope you know the command for rubs, because when I roll over to show my belly that means rub it. Big Ask: I am very happy to have my second chance at a home after being dumped and 40 pounds at the city shelter. I want to be a good big boy for you and I will be very loyal and loving. Will you adopt me? GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter. Our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area.
