Story
**I am fostering Silas through the South County Tail Waggers rescue group.** Silas is 100% sweetheart. It’s true – everyone who meets him comments on what a sweet boy he is. Silas is a senior pittie mix with the gentlest soul, the kindest eyes and a heart of gold. Despite a tough life, he could not be a better dog. He is house trained, loves to go for walks and is the perfect buddy to watch movies with you on the couch. He loves meeting people and getting pets (especially behind the neck!). He is easy-going and never barks. Silas was scheduled to be put down when we picked him up from the shelter. He was underweight and scared but still had his loving spirit. He has put on plenty of weight and is now one happy, healthy boy! He is good with children and is not dog or cat aggressive. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccines. He recently had a dental cleaning, so is all good there. I am working on crate training and other basic obedience commands.

Story
Meet Holly! She is friendly, spunky, and full of life! She was diagnosed with diabetes, which her former owner left untreated. She was brought into our Animal Hospital to be euthanized for this completely manageable condition. We spoke with her former owner and she agreed that she would rather relinquish her rights and allow us to rehome Holly. We are looking for a new home that is prepared to give her insulin injections twice daily, keep an eye on her weight, and give her tons of love. She is the most loving dogs we have met and has quickly become attached to our hospital staff. She is eager to try and play with every dog that passes by (but not cats!)

Story
** PLEASE READ HIS DESCRIPTION BEFORE CALLING/APPLYING! ** His super cute looks are deceiving! Roger is a "project dog"! Which means he will need on-going training and is ONLY available to an SF Bay Area experienced, sport dog home. Roger is a 8 year old, 10lb Australian Terrier/Jack Russell mix, and this guy is ALL terrier!! (His personality is probably closest to that of a Jack Russell) He loves to play with other small dogs, is good with cats (although sometimes he wants to play with them if they run). He LOVES to play (can’t say this enough), and he is very high energy. He has learned a handful of tricks (is a titled Advanced Trick Dog), and he competes in USDAA Agility (with two titles already- SPS and PD)!, so he must go to a home that can continue dog sports with him, and keep him very active, both mentally and physically. He’s like the energizer bunny, and he is one of the smartest dogs we have ever met, scary smart! He does also love to snuggle with his person and give kisses. He’s crate-trained and housebroken. His only issue (besides his energy and intelligence level) is *fear aggression toward strangers* (will bite if a stranger approaches, reaches their hand for/toward him, or spooks him), but with lots of patience, management, training (counter conditioning), and carefully monitored socialization, his fear has decreased, but it may never go completely away, so you can never let your guard down with him. He has gotten a LOT better in his foster home over the last several years, but will need someone to continue the right kind of training with him. He does seem to warm up much faster to young women than to older people or men. This is why he’d do best in a home with NO children and with someone experienced with terrier or high energy breeds (like herding dogs) and near-professional dog behavior experience. Once you give this dog a chance, you will fall in love! He’s really such an absolutely brilliant dog, the life of the party! Roger has been in rescue since 3/2011. Roger is neutered, up to date on his shots, microchipped, and will come with a collar, harness, leash, and bag of food! Story
Brady is 40 pounds of fun! He's great with other dogs- loves to wrestle and chase. He's a great hiking companion and loves to go for walks. He's food motivated, and at 2 years old he's got a lot of energy to burn. He knows sit & down and sleeps quietly in a crate, but would benefit from further obedience training. He loves people. When not playing with the resident dog, he enjoys playing with his favorite squeaky toy.   Brady needs a very active home that will keep him physically and mentally busy. If your idea of a fun weekend is spending time exercising and being outdoors or training, Brady is ready to join you in your adventures! He LOVES the frisbee, has disc dog, agility, performance dog sport potential!   He'll do best with children over 12 and a cat-free home.  Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc

Story
Archie is 1 year old 40lb neutered border collie mix who was rescued from the central valley with his sister (already adopted). He came to rescue feral, but over time, has learned the basics of house manners, crate training, loose leash walking, car rides. Archie is the perfect medium energy, playful but mellows out. He's good with other dogs, but prefers female dogs, and we do require him to go to a home with another, socially confident dog. He's good with cats too. He is still afraid of people though, so needs a quiet, adult only, and patient, gentle home (ideally house with yard, no apartments). If you're looking for a pal for your current dog and a dog to take on on-leash hikes, Archie would be perfect! Story
Ivy is a 6-7 yo pit mix who only weighs 40lbs. She's a very sweet, timid, and docile girl who is a poet at heart and needs the countryside quiet to keep her soul at peace and comfort. The busy city life can scare and overwhelm her, so please no apartments or crazy children running around. She does well with big and little dogs (proper intros, of course!) and has paid no mind to kitty cats. She will snuggle up to mellow dogs that just want to hang out. For someone with a patient heart and lots of love to give, Ivy more than repays that kindness once she feels safe and accepted. She's crate trained and housebroken.  This girl is available for adoption through The Perfect Dog rescue - which makes sense, because though quite the introvert, this little navy bean is, indeed, the perfect dog &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc
